MVMCP a tip or two

We did our first party last year in December, it was awesome even in a rainy downpour.

One thing that I noticed, we tried to go from the Twas the night before to Belle's story...it was impossible, Belle's area fills up quickly.

I have 2 DD, ages 4 and 5 and they love Belle, we missed it.

THis year we are going Dec. 16, our first night in magic, we will split our party to make sure we have seating with Belle.

Your plan is the same as mine.

If the hub area is too congested I plan to cut through tomorrowland and acess Main Street that way to get a good view of the fireworks.

Yeah, I just went through and read the other posts. Looks like we have about the same idea for the party. I hope it works out for both of us. I'm a little nervous now about Belle's storytime though after reading the last few posts. Oh well, we'll see how it goes and if we have to change things around/miss something we will just have to make do. There are also 2 other parties while we're there, so if they aren't sold out we could always buy tickets for one more night if we don't get to do everything we want to.

Also, off topic - I have family that lives in Houma, LA.

Opinions needed!

If you had to choose between the Twas the Night Before Christmas show and the Celebrate the Seasons show...which would you pick? There will be 3 adults and we want to catch one show to get us in the spirit, but can't decide...is there a description of each anywhere??? TIA! :goodvibes

If I had to choose I would definitely choose Twas the Night Before Christmas...It is a not-to-be missed attraction for me...The music, the characters, the reindeer...ahhhhh...Is it December yet?? :santa:

P.S. Besides the fact that I LOVE "Twas" there is the added benefit that you get to sit down for this show whereas you stand for the castle show...might not matter to you but it sure does to me...:)

Okay read all the posts and am majorly fretting about what to see and do.
What all does MVMCP have to offer in shows, parades, fireworks and charactors. Rides are not that important to us that night as we will be at WDW for 8 days and can fit those in later.
I too want to get in all that I can, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
We have breakfast planned for the morning of the MVMCP (Dec. 9th) at Chrystal Palace and plan on taking it easy that day until the party.

You can stop at Town Hall in MK any time before the MVMCP and ask for a map and times guide for MVMCP . I have done this before and that way you can do some planning before you go. We will be there Dec 16,our first Christmas at WDW.:cool1:

To help ease the stress for some of you....here's some things that helped us last year...

DS and I saw Scrooge the Monday night after thanksgiving without a party - he's at the tree lot other times too (at least last year). You can ask a CM near there (by teacups) when he'll be out then wait early during a non-party time if you can.

The saturday after Thanksgiving they had Twas the night before Christmas - NON party night. We watched spectro then RAN over there and made it. This made our whole party night easier. Then it rained and messed up our timing but we saw the first parade so that was great and then dance party with stitch and chip/dale then caught the last celebrate the seasons show (the middle one was cancelled for rain).

Anything you can hit before the party is a big help for your planning for the night.

Our evening last year went like this (worked well)

7pm - me at belle (for me) and DS with DH in adventureland to see Abu - but Prince Ali and Jasmine were at 7 and then genie and abu at 7:30

Waited for parade spot near christmas shop - watched first parade then darted back to adventureland to find the country bears. Then to tomorrowland when it started to POUR. Did a bunch of rides and then dance party at cosmic rays for a while. Fireworks then the 11:45 celebrate the seasons show - we didn't do the other characters that night since we had seen them before.

A few pictures from our MVMCP last December.

Thanks for your opinion, Cookie55!

Is there anyone that loves the castle show or can tell me a little about it???

Although you won't see Snow white, you can see Belle in her red Christmas dress and for the past couple of years she's appeared with Beast. We saw her at two different parties and she's beautiful. :goodvibes I think for the past couple of years she's been near the IASW stroller parking area.

Ditto on the meet and greet with Belle! We saw her last year in her red cape with the Beast - I was enchanted by them! ;) Of course the parade and snow on Main Street took the cake, but the special character greetings and parties were just so magical. My DD was only 2 at the time and we had to pull her out of the dance party with Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters crying - she did not want to leave at all. We'll be back on Dec. 9th, cannot wait!

So take it easy during the day, nap well, arrive early, stay late, and take it all in! Worth every penny and then some!

My family and I have been to the party in previous years and did not buy tickets for our trip this December. Our biggest regret in not going to MVMCP is missing Twas the Night Before Christmas. Based on other posts in this thread, it appears as though the 1st show will most likely be at 7 p.m.?

We will be at MK on Thurs, 12/11 and know party ticket holders can get in at 4 p.m. At what point, do those without tickets get 'forced out'? Are parties treated like EMH-evenings (where I now here you can 'stick around', but you just can't go on any attractions)? Would we have any problems enjoying the festivities up through that first show? Will there likely be someone looking for wristbands as you try to enter the theater?

Thanks so much! Jamie

I see there's a thread on this for the MNSSHP and I would be interested in reading one on MVMCP.:santa:

We will be attending our first party this November 20th. :santa:

So, for all you folks that have attended a party or two, please forward me some tips, please..

dont go there to ride the rides when there is sooooo much to see and do. ride maybe 1 or 2 rides but dont go there just to ride. you will miss sooooo much. just my opinion.

They start to announce that the park is closing around 6:00p. Those without tickets/wristbands are to leave by 7:00p. No it is not like EMH as EMH is free, the parties aren't.

They will have CMs all over the park directing those without tickets/wristbands to the exits. They will also have CMs at the entrances to each land (like a human rope) not letting those wtihout wristbands in. They will also have CMs at the restrooms not letting those wtihout wristbands in. They will also not let those without wristbands shop, enter rides, enter shows, get hot choc/cookies etc...

So you should not be able to see the show at 7:00p if you did not buy the $50+ ticket to the party.

However, in the past they have shown "Twas the Night before Christmas" show on Saturdays for everyone to enjoy. Not sure when they'll start doing this this year or even if they will do it again this year. But if they are, this could be an option for you.

If we don't get Belle at 8:10 I guess we will try after the parade. I hope the 3 year old makes it.

I'm also glad to hear about Santa and Mrs. Claus at Epcot, we will get pics there instead of trying to get them at the party.

I love the DIS!

I love living in Houma, its a great little town, I live in a small community just outside of Houma, called Bayou Blue. Unfortunately we are moving to Baton Rouge soon (well as soon as we can sell the house, who knows when that will be). I am not looking forward to Baton Rouge traffic.

November 30th for me and DH! I've never been, so I'm very excited! We have ADRs at 7:05 for Tony's. Maybe that was a bad idea, but that was the earliest I could get. I hope we don't miss anything.

Can't wait! Only 35 days!

Kristin

Belle_princess, I agree with Becca, skip the long sit-down dinner and grab a quick counter-service meal instead. You paid a lot of money to experience the MK in a special holiday party mode. Do the shows, the parades, maybe some rides and let your family soak in that extra-special holiday cheer.
