We are taking out first trip next week and since our Epcot Day is right in the middle of our week, I want some extra wiggle room to go back to our resort if need be (we have breaks scheduled for two other days as well). What are some of the thugs we shouldn't miss in World Showcase if we end up leaving early? We have three kids: DS8, DS5, DDalmost 3 :)

*things. Haha I'm hoping there are no thugs in the world showcase!

Epcot is my favorite park! I'd try to fit in one of Agent P's adventures, kids seem to really like those. Also, the trains in the Germany pavillion are really cool to watch, I'd see if you can hit those before you leave. Would Pick and Pearl be an option? I'm not sure your boys would want to do that, but it is a really cool thing to watch!

Definitely Agent P adventure. You can explore the chosen country while the kids enjoy their mission :thumbsup2

There are the two boat rides in the Norway and Mexico pavilions. There are also various character meet and greets (example Mulan in China, Aurora in France, Mary Poppins, Alice, and Winnie in the UK).

What my friends and I did, that you can try is buying a snack or a food at each pavilion to try their "local" food.

THIS. My then 9 year old and 5 year old LOVED this last year and can't wait to do it again!! Japan was their favorite mission.

Hi jennynyholm!

We're going to be there next week also! Arrive on Friday, Jan 31! Can't wait! I'm looking forward to the Phineas and Ferb missions for my kiddos. I have a DS5 and DD10. Hoping this interests them, so I get a chance to look in the shops! Where are you staying? Be careful and have fun!

By the way, have you looked at the recent 10 day forecast??? It's looking awesome so far!

I'm also a big fan of Epcot. It is by far my favorite park and traveling around the world is such a lovely way to break up the craziness that can take over a Disney vacation.
My son is 3 and we will stroll leisurely. It takes a while but there is just so much to see!! I love love love Morocco and england. They both have these beautiful back areas to see. Beautiful rose gardens in England and Moroccan buildings with stunning tile work to explore as well as an awesome little gift shop there.

The kids will enjoy participating in kidcot and it'll probably be the best way to see the entire world showcase.

Have a blast!!! I have to wait 91 days to see it again.....

My kids love Epcot! The Phineas and Ferb missions, trying food from several countries, the characters (not so much anymore, they are now 13 and 10, but when they were younger), the trains in Germany, the drummers in Japan, the acrobats in China (are they still there?). Last year we made it a point to get a family picture or pic of at least 3 of us in each country. Different pics, not the typical ones. We ended up with about 25 pics, and had a ball doing it!

We have gone a couple times where we only make it halfway around World Showcase, and end somewhere around the "The American adventure" stage show area, then head back. I'm not sure my kids would be upset at missing any of World Showcase, but DH loves it.

Highly recommend this. My kids (ages 10 and 12) get a device that they share and while DH and I are enjoying looking around the pavilion or sitting and having a nice drink while people watching, the girls are off doing the missions in that country.

what is kidcot?
We loved Epcot and the WS, but our kids did not really enjoy it much (7 & 2) on our last trip. This time they will be 10 & 5 so I am hoping they will find more to enjoy!

There are character greetings throughout the WS as well. The 3 Caballeros in the Mexican Pavillion is fun. There is also face painting, neat treats from around the WS and as others have mentioned the boats, pearls, and the maze in the UK.

there are different stops along the WS, they are on the maps, kids can make a craft and get their passport stamped. this is what we do - Mom and Dad grab a drink then we all head to a kidcot spot find a seat, enjoy your drink, kids color their picture and everyone gets a nice break

one thing I haven't seen mentioned is the street performances throughout the WS. My girls love the Japan drummers.

I have to share this Im not recommending it but on our first trip my girls were really young 2 and a month away from 3. They ended up taking their shoes off cause they got too hot. It gave me the willies but they spent most of the day with out shoes in the WS. it was a pick your battles kind of moment they weren't screaming and it stopped their fussy mood. I was absolutely amazed at how clean their feet were that night when I went to wash them. there was barely any dirt on the wash cloth. It has become one of our fondest trip memories.

Pretty much same as PP's:
1. Agent P adventure
2. Kidcot - enjoyed having castmembers write the kids' names in their (CM's)native language on their passports and learning to say "hello" in that language.
3. Just asked my kiddos - they both said they loved eating at the Coral Reef (over in the Seas) and watching the fish/turtles.
4. Loved Turtle Talk with Crush
5. Fun food to try (mmm caramel popcorn at Germany)
6. Really enjoyed Living with the Land ride at The Land

Have a great time!

Does anyone know if the candy lady is still there? She use to demonstrate how to make candy and she molded it into different shapes. Last time I was there ( 8 years ago) my son got a dragon shaped candy and my daughter got a unicorn.

I believe I read she left in the last few months. :(
