Must do for young kids at World Showcase?

You have to check out Club Cool that has the free soda samples from around the world. My kids get a huge kick out of trying everything here.

I suggest an open mind when it comes to strollers too-even though your kids are a little older there is a lot of walking around Epcot. The last time we went my boys were 9 & 7 but we still got the big double stroller (which is more like a portable lounge seat) and bought ourselves some time to really explore. My kids thought it was kind of cool but didn't enjoy the different countries nearly as much as we did. I am hoping since they will be a little older for our upcoming trip that they will be able to enjoy it more with us.

I agree on the stroller for Epcot! The first time DH and I were there, we got half way trough WS I wanted to be done walking! Now, I was approximately 80 pounds overweight so that was likely a contributing factor but I could not get over the size of that place. Remembering how I felt walking around there was a major contributing factor when we decided to rent a stroller for our 6 and 3 year olds for this upcoming trip.

My three year old really enjoyed kidcot a coloring activity in each country.
he also loved the train in Germany we had to drag him away from the trains. He also enjoyed the boat ride inside Mexico. We tried a treat from almost each country. Both my kids played with the phone booths in United Kingdom drag them away from that too.

Thank you so much for the suggestions everyone! This is making me so excited to be at Epcot! DS8 is REALLY into geography and social studies so I have a feeling he will find it fascinating. The other two will probably love the kidcot stations :)

By the way, have you looked at the recent 10 day forecast??? It's looking awesome so far!
uh yeah I check the 10 day forecast daily, and I am beyond thrilled to see some warm days! I'm sick and tired of freezing my bum off up here in VA!

This thread is actually making me excited for our first Epcot visit in December. Kiddos are 2 and 7. :thumbsup

one thing I haven't seen mentioned is the street performances throughout the WS. My girls love the Japan drummers.

I was going to suggest this as well. It's not really street performances as each act has a scheduled time (you can pick up a times guide at the parks or look here - wdwent.com - before you leave). But there is no "seating" and it's come and go as you please so you can stop for a few minutes if you are interested or stay for the entire performance. I've seen kids dancing around the Off Kilter stage, adults swaying to the British Invasion, smiles at the Japanese drummers, squeals of delight in China with the acrobats, and lots of flirtations with the Mexico Mariachi band.

One special thing I did with my daughter who was 4 at the time was pick a pearl in the Japan Pavillion store. Both of us got to pick out our own oyster and the CMs opened them, cleaned them and had a fun little ceremony for us.

I also bought a pearl cage necklace from home. It was a lot of fun and DD still asks about her pearl necklace.

I acutally think I will try to make it a tradition.

The rides in Norway and Mexico, trains in Germany, food everywhere, various shows in all the countries, kidcots, characters

There is so much to do in the world showcase. So much. I love epcot and our little guy loved it too.
