Good for you!!!!
I love Australia! I have only been to Western Australia but I really hope to get to go back someday (hopefully with more time to spend in New Zealand as well!) Too bad you are going in March as you will miss wildflower season. There are some really beautiful sights to see. I wasn't even there during the height of the season and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the dolphin tours as well as a trip to Lancelin and the Pinnacles. There is so much to do and see!!!
When I went, I flew from LA to Auckland, NZ (14 hrs) and then Auckland to Perth (9 hrs). Plus I had 2 flights there and back within the States to get from Pittsburgh to/from the West Coast. Travel time each way was almost 30 hrs.!!!
Hope you don't mind me sharing a few pics as well...
Downtown Perth from King's Park
Pinnacles Desert (indian Ocean in background)
Indian Ocean
Sand Dunes in Lancelin
View from Penguin Island
Penguin on Penguin Island
Wildflowers
and lastly - the famous Tasmanian Devil
