MR January 29 2012- Who's in?

Still waiting for my documents so I called my TA again and she said that she finally got the tracking number from Disney for FedEx and that we'll wait till Monday to see if they come in.

So I look up the tracking number to see where they are. Shock! there is no info. just that FedEx was sent information. I called Disney myself and they checked the tracking number and then called FedEx them self. Turns out FedEx NEVER received my documents from Disney. So they had to call my agent and get authorization to send me more documents. Looks like it will be yet another week till we get them.

My TA called me a bit after and after a good scream I feel much better! :scared1: I explained to my TA that not everyone has time for the wait and see approach. She told me that she's newer to being a TA and hasn't had to ever deal with document issues. I was like I'm not a TA at all and I knew to follow up on issues. It's easy to say that my TA had a learning experience today. With any luck I will have my documents before we are set to fly.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

You guys are so organized! I have most of my FE gifts done and just need to pick up some more adult things this weekend..I need to make a few magnets and t-shirts...oh and still pack!

We are doing the Las Caletas in PV and whale watching on 2nd day with Pez Gato...anyone ever do this? Little nervouse as we booked ourselves, but Disney one was sold out!

I'm trying to pack and think of things I normally wouldn't pack on vacation...like Bonine, mosquito repellant, pockets for over door, power strip for things...anyone else have ideas that we don't usually need for this cruise? Cant wait to meet some of you!

We take an extension cord, (in addition to the power strip) because the outlet is ina very inconvenient location if you have a noise machine or use a heating pad... and I use both.We bring cold medicine and some kind of stomach remedy just in case! I always take kid and adult versions of all medicine and we have used one or the other or both on almost every trip we've taken.

Who did you use? We used GetAwayToday and the docs went to them and they shipped them out to us yesterday. Which we received today.

I had already emailed our TA yesterday and she had thought we would have to wait till monday.

I feel you! I called DCL everyday. I figured I'd be speaking to different CMs who didn't know I was nagging them everyday. When my mom and nephew got theirs before me, I was worried. I got mine a week later. I always was told they were mailed, but because of the holidays, etc. I began to think maybe a neighbor got them and didn't realize how important they are.

So, now let the nightmares begin. I had my first one last night. I forgot my bathing suit and spent the entire first day on land searching for a suit and one that would fit me! While passing my family on the beach! I'm sure the next one will be I forgot my make up or I can't reach the ship in time to depart :lmao::lmao:

I had a nightmare last night too!! We had my parents and my aunt with us (which is not happening on a cruise... ever!!) and to board the ship we had to swim out to it. They had a queue and everything, but you had to swim through it. Once we had done the swimming portion they wanted to take a family picture and I was freaked out because husband had swam ahead with the kids and now I'd be in a picture with just my aunt and my parents!! I remember my aunt saying "Let s just wait and change our clothes and dry our hair before our picture." And i was freaking out because lunch would be over by that time :)
I am no dream analyst but it doesn't take a degree to see I have some control issues.

That's today's lesson! I just took the kids out for some retail therapy and when I got home there was a message from our TA that she just received the documents.

I used CAA travel. It bugs me that the excuse that she uses all the time is that she's new at being a ta. What she needs to realize is that she works in an industry that's not totally needed because we can all book things for ourselves now a days. I just booked through an agent to give them some work.

I emailed my TA and she has my docs... But she is waiting for my Disneyland package from WDTC before she sends them. She is the best TA ever so I shouldn't be worried, but that hasn't stopped me from freaking out. The funny thing is that you don't actually NEED your cruise docs- you can print it all at home if need be. But my DL docs are live tickets. I should be way more worried about them.

What's really embarrassing :sad2: is that I apparently posted on the 1/8 meet thread yesterday that they forgot to add me to the FE list :sad2: Wish THAT was a dream but nope, I did! :rotfl:

:rolleyes1 I was wondering why people were already packing! :rotfl2:

I had a nightmare too! Mine was that we forgot our birth certificates and couldn't board. BTW, when James had his wish trip I forgot my make-up bag on the counter as we were leaving the house. I looked as exhausted as I felt the entire trip!

:cool1::rotfl2:How long was it before you realized you were in the wrong group.

Just about all packed. Just need to pack underwear and socks and my dh suit. So tomorrow we're going to take our luggage to our little airport to do a check on weight and size.

We leave in about 17 days. :scared1::woohoo:

Do you know what happens when you finally get to put a face to the screen names that you've been chatting with for months? I do!!
A big hug and a lovely visit :)
A bit of pixie dust blew our way tonight and I was thrilled to meet Disnanny, right here in my Northern Alberta city. (we actually live many, many, many hours apart) it was a pleasure to meet her and I'm looking forward to seeing a familiar face on board.
I can't wait to meet the rest of you... Then you will all be familiar faces too :goodvibes

Hi,
This is my first time on disboards as well! We are so excited about our cruise. There are 4 of us; my hubbie, Robert, then next door is my mom, Marian (she's 90!!) and our cousin, Judy from Detroit. Even tho we don't have kids, we are all Disney folks, mom especially! We've booked the adult dinner on the first night (only night avail) and know that the 2nd night is formal. What are some other highlights?

:scared1: I just looked at our excursions so that I could tell DH the prices and it turns out that our PV city tour that I booked was missing. I called disney and they said that they don't show that I ever had it. So I was able to rebook which is great as it's almost sold out. So it might be a good idea to just recheck any extras booked.

My Nightmares... I had last night... were way dumber then any of yours. :lmao: I dreamed that I went down to the store on board and it was closed.. which makes sense since we were in port. but the worse part or the nightmare :scared1: was that DH had gotten DS (who is 1) tatoos. :scared1::scared1::rotfl::confused3 What does it mean? :lmao:

Can't tell you how excited I was to meet you and your husband. We had a great chat and it felt like we had known each other for a long time...it is easy when we all have that common thread Love love Disney.

Looking forward to meeting the rest of our group.

Need to get home and finish FE stuff :yay::yay:

So exciting! Can anyone tell me about the fish extenders? Don't know what they are or how they work.

Welcome to our group, there are a number of threads that explain FE on the DISboard.

Reader's digest version is someone (Moomy-San) takes on the task of organizing and re-organzing families on the cruise who want to participate. We had a cut off date to participate of January 2 (this is so everyone can get there fish extender gifts done)
.
On the side of your cabin door there is a "fish" that we hang our extenders (pocket hangers) from. Then, those who have signed up make, buy, and or craft gifts for each cabin. During the cruise these gifts are put in your extender.

It is a lot of fun, on our Panama Canal cruise there was over 100 cabins, our Alaska cruise we had about 25 cabins.

Check out the FE thread on the main board, it gives a lot more detail.

Depending on which countdown clock you're looking at we're either 20 or 21 days until we cruise.

Woo Hoo, getting excited. Pulled out suitcases and clothes today. Trying stuff on and deciding what to pack.

I've got DS watching You Tube videos all day

Happy Sunday Disney Cruisers

Three Sundays from now we'll be on the ship

That is really cool! :cool1: What are the odds? :wizard:

I got my luggage from storage and some still have a DCL luggage tag on them ;) I have one here that I use for Vegas, etc., and the others put away so as to take room in my closet :thumbsup2

My mom came over today to fill out the paperwork. She gets a little overwhelmed and didn't want to do it wrong. She's still not sold on even getting off the ship so I'm working on it. ;)

I may need to cancel the dolphin excursion in PV. I'm hoping she'll speak to table mates or other cruisers who will tell her that any excursion with DCL is safe.

When my dad found out that all she had to do on the ship was swipe her Key To The World card he almost choked! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: :woohoo:

My sister in law has decided not to let us have the one original birth certificate for my nephew and is going Wednesday to get a passport for him. Do you think she can get it in time? My mom's BC worries me. She said it's an original, and yes, it's an original alright. ;) So I'm having my DH who is an attorney order a certified one through the attorney service to expedite it. Thank goodness she came over today

But good news, I got our passports out and found $100 bill in mine. :woohoo: I can't figure out what happened there but I'm not complaining or telling!

Two more Sundays to watch the Magic at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/de...8.2752&centery=33.74723&zoom=10&type_color=6# sailing away then it's our turn. I sort of want to have dinner down at the port and watch the cruise before us sail away. No one here is excited about. Yet. When momma stops doing wash I'm sure they'll get excited pretty fast. It was a beautiful day today, a beautiful sunset at sail-a-way. I just wish there was a live camera. Oh well, on Thursday I can see her in Cabo... http://www.cabovillas.com/campage.asp?id=10
