MR January 29 2012- Who's in?

First timers on DCL as well. The kids sail free was too good of an offer to pass up. We have a 3 family group coming with us 2 grandmas, 6 parents, 7 kids.

Planning the christmas surprise for the kids. So hard not to talk about it with them.
Are is also a christmas reveal .. should make for an exciting morning ... my hope is to have the FE made and put fake tix inside for their first treat :-)

We are doing the same thing...it's so hard not to talk about it :rotfl:

When we did FE's on our last cruise it really helped to have a list that was compiled at the top of the thread. I am not participating but I can edit my first post to reflect those names etc. that have signed up if you'd like.

Great idea. Thanks. I've only participated in one FE before and wasn't involved in the organization of it.

Being 1st timers here, we didn't need to pay until Nov 15th, but I have been obsessing about it, so DH had me pay it off this morning. I know I can't check in or anything yet, but having our plane tickets bought, and now the cruise paid for, makes it finally feel a little more real:cool1: Now I just need to book the car rental and hotel. So if anyone has a super great rate on a SUV or Minivan prior to the cruise, please share the details :goodvibes

Congrats on being PIF!! Feels good doesn't it? We paid our cruise off before the CAN $$ started to drop. Thank goodness we did because it's been fluctuating a lot.

This is our first cruise ever so we are very very excited! We are going to be celebrating DD and DH birthdays on the cruise.

We are in stateroom 7003

myself Terry Anne - 38
DH Chris - 42 turning 43
DD Florie - 3 turning 4
DS Andrew - just turned 1

Well it looks like we will now have 22 people in our group, holy moly!

4 - Grandparents
8 - Parents
10 - kids 5 Girls (11, 10, 7, 7, 3) and 5 Boys (9, 8, 7, 5, 1)

Should prove for a very crazy trip!

There are officially 2 families in the FE group now. I hope there are a few more families interested.
Even if the FE group is smaller I would still like to do a meet on embarkation day. It's very nice to meet everyone and see a few familiar faces on the ship throughout the week.

Happy Sunday, Folks... anyone have snow yet?

You mean 3 families :-).. you, Mimiminie and us, so far. I can't wait to meet everyone!

We're in for the FE as well. I just haven't gotten around to posting our info. Here it is:

Cabin no. 1045

Lisa and Stephen
Daughters - Kayla 8 and Kathryn 5 1/2

And yes we're getting snow tonight!

Booked tonight and I'm so excited! Our last big family vacation was a week at Disneyland in April of 2010, and it was somewhat dampened by me being in a wheelchair after a running injury. Having my husband push me around all week was something less than the getaway we were imagining . . . (I'm planning to keep my feet safe 'til January!)

This will be our second Disney cruise. We did a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Magic in 2006, and have been thinking about taking another ever since. With the "kids sail free" promo, this ended up being the perfect vacation for us -- plus, I've always wanted to take my guys to Cabo. :) Our boys are 8 and 11 and I think they're going to love it.

Still haven't decided if we're going for a Christmas reveal, or if this will just be our family vacation. The guys are pretty observant, and I think they were actually around when my friend was telling me about it . . . so, not really sure they'd be surprised. Plus I have to renew their passports and I can't really do that on the sly LOL

I don't think we're doing FE's this time :guilty: as fun as they are! I run a craft business that is of course, very busy at Christmas time. Last cruise I was so burnt out after Christmas it took a LOT of motivation to finish our gifts. I might still change my mind but as of right now, I don't think our family will participate.:sad1:

FEs sound like fun! Tried to read through the thread last night, but it's loooong LOL I think I can manage to make one (the eBay and Etsy ones are cute, but so pricey!) but how exactly does the exchange part work? What kind of goodies do you put in them? I'm moderately crafty but time in the winter is short -- not sure how much I'll have to devote to making handmade things. Also, is there a plan for when to leave things, and how often?

I think my guys would really love it, and it would help make the trip extra special. They love to be sneaky and leave surprises as much as they like getting them! I just need to make sure I know what I'm taking on before I commit to one more thing LOL

We may be in on the FE- I have 5 kids though, I'm not sure how that works.

It doesn't matter how many kids you have .. depending on how many family we have in the exchange each kid would get a treat a day from another family in the group .. it will be tons of fun! join us!:cool1:
