Mr Bean - 39 - now a Disney convert
Mrs Bean - 35 - loves all things magical
DD - 7 - NO IDEA WE ARE GOING
Nana - 64 - excited like a 5 year old.
Grandad - 67 - grumpy, sore knees, always needs feeding.

Trip dates - 4 - 8th May 2009

Well we are off on Monday 4th May for our magical 4 night/5 day trip curtesy of my parents to the Hotel New York. This is a surprise trip from my Dad who had a very nasty motorbike accident 4 years ago and has been paid his compensation so is treating us all. Madelane doesn't know anything about the trip which will be the weekend after her 7th birthday.

Fly from Manchester to CDG at 9.25am (ish) Air France and have booked a private transfer to and from the Hotel New York as it worked out slightly cheaper than the VEA.

For the first time we have Halfboard plus which will solve the evening meal dilema for us and are planning: Monday-Parkside Diner, Tuesday-Cape Cod, Wednesday-Cafe Mickey (using vouchers at face value) Thursday-either back to Parkside Diner or Hunter's Grill. Breakfast will be in the Hotel every morning and for lunch we will be happy with a croque monsier or croissants from breakfast. Am planning on a water bottle for Madelane that we can fill up.

Thinking that maybe Fantasyland wont be as important this year as Madelane is 7 and a real daredevil so hoping to explore the other worlds much more this tiime. Unfortunately I have a little one in the oven (12 weeks scan on the Friday before we go too !!!!) so won't be able to go on all the rides I expected too but am hoping that Mr. Bean will step in take over.

I really want to do Phantom Manor and POTC and see the shows again, Honey I shrunk the Audience as we loved this and the HSM show.

Am also hoping to dry weather:sunny: and a swim in the evening. I'm very excited and we won't be telling Madelane till the Saturday before we go as we have to take our animals to different petsitters on that day.

I have got her a bag of special goodies: A HSM bag and purse, a plush set of Minnie mouse ears from (ebay-China), all new clothes and the gorgeous Cinderella dress and Cinderella plush doll which I am hoping to nip into our room before she goes into it and lay them on the bed for her, whilst she explores her Nana's room.

Luckily I have a busy week this week and her party :bday:at the weekend - 25 children for a HSM party and then it's only another week and off we go.:cheer2:

I'm expecting lots of moaning from Grandad and lots of pushing and shoving which kind of spoils Disney sometimes but we are getting used to it now and often will stand 5 abreast in a queue to stop any one getting past us.

I'm promising myself that I won't moan as this is great opportunity of a trip for us as we thought we would never get to go back to see the Magic again. I know that food is expensive, I know that people will jump queues but as soon as I hear that Music I fall in love all over again.:lovestruc

What a treat for your daughter! She is going to be delighted! We are also doing half board for the first time this trip, and I am sure that this will be much better than constantly begrudging the poor euro exchange rate at the moment at every meal. :) We will also be 'liberating' some chocolate sausage rolls from the breakfast buffet to keep us going in the afternoons! :goodvibes

Sounds like it will be a great fun trip. A lovely suprise for your DD:goodvibes

My daughter will be five at the end of June and we are going two weeks after her birthday. She knows we are going but doesn't know when! I love surprises!!

My Dad is 65 and a grump too. In fact we looked high and low for Snow White on New Years Eve (dad's surprise trip for us) and told her she was missing one of her Dwarves! We even went on the ride and told the CM that we were just returning Dad back home! My step mum has warned said father that if he moans she's sleeping in our room and he's on his own!!

Secretly though my dad is looking forward to our break as hopefully the weather will be great :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read your trip report when you return, gets me all excited to think we've got the opportunity to return for a proper holiday as a family - it's what Disney is all about!

You will have a lovely trip, I can tell from your positive attitude. Look forward to reading all about the HNY I'm promising myself if I can show great self control and not book another trip before then at Halloween next year we'll stay at the HNY. :goodvibes
Your daughter will love her extended Birthday celebration

I am so looking forward to the whole trip and staying at the New York. We totally enjoyed our Davey Crockett trip 2 years ago so am looking forward to seeing what the Hotel New York offers us.

I am of positive mind and am prepared to have a great time experiencing Disneyland with a daredevil 7 year old. I will still cry a tear when she meets the Princesses, I just can't help myself.

I am just bursting to tell her this huge secret that we have kept from her for weeks now. Only 13 sleeps to go.

Am also glad that we are there for 5 days so maybe a bit more relaxed than our previous trips too which I am looking forward too. We will have 3 whole days there (midweek too) and a Monday and Friday that are sort of half days/Bank Hols too.

Be prepared for lots of photos I'm afraid when we get back.
