My kids have not had a problem with thier Nanos either.
And I have to say this, I work in a middle/high school as a sub teacher. If you don't have an Ipod, it is very very very uncool.. I see kids apologizing all the time for thier "offbrand" Mp3 players.
The only other cooler thing is cell phones that play music. Psp's are dying out.
