They are tied to the reservation number. That way when someone cancels a trip, which lots of people obviously do, there aren't millions of ADR's that the cancelled people won't be using. Maybe I'm wrong about this but I'm pretty sure when you cancel a room only or package, the ADR's are lost.

I've NEVER given my reservation number when booking an ADR so I don't believe this is true. How could they link my ADRs and my reservation if they don't have all the information. Besides, how would locals make ADRs? They live nearby so they wouldn't have a room or package reservation.

Can someone here answer this...Do the tickets that come with the packages still expire after 14 days? I thought I read once that they expired the day of check-out.

That was the old ticket system before they had the Magic Your Way tickets.

Why in the heck would they make you go through this whole cancelling thing and force you to make a new reservation? That's just completely asinine. So, cancel the reservation I have for a room at the Contemporary, send me back my money, then here make a new reservation for the EXACT SAME THING and I'll give you $200 and then pay off the rest later? What kind of stupidity is at work here?

Can't we wait until the actual deal is revealed before we get upset about the details?

Just want to point out that this only works if you're going for 7 nights. If you can only take a shorter vacation (say 5 nights) then this deal is worse than a straight 40% discount on rooms with no ticket upgrade. And that's even including a $200 gift card.

For example, during value season;

40% Discount: Beach Club; 5 nights; 40% off = $1,005 + tax = $1,131

B4G3 Package: Beach Club; 4 nights (3 free) = $1,340 + tax = $1,508 - $200 gift card = $1,308

The difference in base tickets between 4 days and 7 days is just $9, so that's negligible.

Rather have a straight discount...

Tickets expire 14 days after FIRST USE. So if you DON'T use them at all then they won't expire. But the first time you put them in a turnstyle to enter a park the clock starts on that 14 days. UNLESS you upgrade to the no expiration option.

So if you have an AP you can always just get the tickets and save them for a later trip or for relatives.
