I am renting points at BCV in June. I am scheduled for a trash/towel service halfway between our stay. We are staying for 6 nights. Should I leave a tip the day that I know they are coming or leave one at the end of our stay? Thanks! :D

Why tip? They will come in take your towels, hang up new ones and empty your garbage. Our dues pay them, they do nothing special, and I wish they would not come at all. I consider myself one of the better tippers around but never tip for towel and trash. I don't like them in the place to start with and do not need them. That is a service we can do without, at least in the one and 2 bedroom units where there is a washer and dryer to do the towels anyway.

Ummm, if you don't want them to come, why not just ask that they don't?

To the OP - everyone does things differently, but what I do is leave a tip on the day they come to do the service. I usually leave $5 that day and $10 at the end of the week since I know they have to do a full cleaning then. I don't know if that's the "correct" way to do it, but I'm sure you'll get some good responses here and maybe I'll learn someting too! ;)

We. too, usually leave a a tip on trash and towel day and again at the end of the trip. I do a lot of traveling and hotel stays for my job and I always leave something if I think housekeeping has done a good job. I've learned that even a "thank you" note is appreciated. IMHO, mousekeeping is not an easy job.

Mousekeeping, according to the experts here, is a non tipped position.

ITA!!!! Most especially don't particulary care for them when they knock on the door on T&T day and I have the "do not disturb" sign on the door. Boy, that really twists my knickers.

We usually tip on trash & tidy day & again at the end of our stay. Whether or not housekeeping is a tipping position, it is still a service to me (& not one I would want to do), so I don't mind tipping them.

On our last two stays at OKW the housekeeper came for T&T mid-morning. I wasn't interested in her coming inside since not everyone was dressed. I just let her know what I needed & she brought it back within a few minutes. And yes, I tpped her.

Also, please remember that if you have any unopened food when you leave, CMs are able to accept it. I've been known to "feed" housekeepers, front desk CMs, & bellmen :).

Hmm.....we tip for the full cleaning on our checkout day but have never tipped for T&T - always figured T&T was "relatively easy" - quite often I end up taking out the trash of the T&T anyways to help keep the place clean for us

thanks

We had Trash/Towel on everyday of our stay last trip and we tipped $2 per day. We tipped a little extra the first day for some new sheets as our were so itchy I couldn't sleep in them:scratchin
I really wish we could pay someone to just make the bed everyday...but the $25 is just too much. We stayed in a studio and look at it as more of a hotel room than a "condo" or "home" and we like having things straigtened up for us.
:D

Did I read a posting a couple of weeks ago which indicated that you could pay for a daily turn-down service? What does that include and how much?

Thanks for the advice! I would hate not to tip someone when it was expected. :earsgirl:
