Mother vent... am I overreacting?

OMG!!! What a nasty thing to say. I am sorry, but if that was my mother I would be so pissed off! As a matter of fact, I am so pissed off right now for you. Why would your mom say such a thing. That is so cruel! Has she watched the news lately???? Is she not in touch with reality. What she did was wrong, but more so how she is reacting is wrong!! No if's and's or but's about it.
Someone needs to give her a wake up call!! Is she always like this, or is this unusual behavior for her??

I am so sorry for you. Don't stop being who you are and being concerned about your children. You are absolutely right to be concerned about where they are at all times.

Hope your Mom wakes up!!

I'm sorry if it were me I'd be inclined to tell my mom that if she is going to be so blase about my childrens safety then I don't know that they can go with her anymore.


I won't let my son go with my IL's because they didn't make my son wear his seat belt. They said awww our kids didn't wear em and they are fine! I was like HELLLLLLO it's the freakin' law!

My mother is 70 and thinks I overreact about my childrens' safety all of the time. I don't think mothers of her generation understand what we are faced with as mothers of today.

She once left my 5 year old daughter alone in a chair at a town fair while she took my 7 year old to get a turkey leg. My daughter told me later that she was scared because Maw Maw was gone for a long time and she couldn't see her.

Yes, you have every right to be mad but I don't think you want to hurt your relationship with your mother. Sometimes we have to be the bigger person and forgive. She will probably never see that she did anything wrong.
