Mother, Daughter and Sausage Dining Review! Final Meal - Complete 9/27!!

Nice review. I think it's great how you managed to capture EmmysMommy in your pic snapping a picture of her food. Too funny!

I know right?? I had no idea she was in the background until I downloaded all of my photos. I love it!

Nice review of CRT! I can't imagine it being worth it from a food standpoint, so I'm glad the experience was very good. Very cool that Brenda made a cameo :)

Love your CRT review! At Disney you completely have to rate the meal based on the whole experience. When we were there in '09 I tried so hard to get a CRT ADR. This year I booked 180 days out and didn't bother trying. Now I wish I had! :rotfl:

No, it's certainly not worth the price for the food alone. Some pastries and a regular breakfast that I could make at home...but it was good food and combined with the fact that we get to eat in the castle (!!) with the princesses made it quite an experience as a whole. And when a teen enjoys something it's priceless! :lmao: But I'm a little worried that all of my reviews are so positive :rotfl2: Like I said, I'm very easy to please!

Exactly, for us it was worth it but for someone else they might say "I paid THAT for some eggs, potatoes & bacon?". I think that having the experience with Eilee made it worthwhile as well. I didn't know if she'd act like she was too cool for school but she didn't! The fact that a moody teen loved it too is also worth its weight in gold!

Thanks for sharing about your meal at CRT. Couldn't agree with you more that it is more about the experience than the food. We don't go there every trip but will go back in the future.

Great review of CRT, Tracy! :thumbsup2 Dining in the castle is a very special experience. I'm glad that you and Eilee enjoyed your breakfast there.

Eileen is so photogenic! I love the ambiance of CRT. It is so elegant. I also love how you got a pic of Brenda snapping pics herself.

Hi Tracy! So glad that you and Eilee got to try CRT! That is a beautiful photo of Eilee on the stairs in the castle. That is too funny that I was in the background for those photos - just glad that I wasn't picking my nose or something!

I agree with you that you pay more for the experience rather than amazing food. But heck, we have some wishing stars and cool wands to show for our meal!

I had to chuckle at your lunch at the food court.... there were moments during our trip that I wished I was hungry enough to eat things on my must do list but I fell so short sometimes. There's always next time! (But you have an amazing cruise next year to look forward to!!)

Enjoyed the review of CRT, how hilarious Brenda is in your pictures :rotfl2: Us Disney Foodies have to stick together. I have yet to eat in the castle if I have a little girl one day I would love to take her there for the experience ;)

I'm glad you agree! I paid for it so long ago I never even gave it a second thought about if it was worth it. I'm not sure how often we'll go back because the first time being there was so fun and everything was new. But I'd totally do it again!

Thanks Barb - We'd just gotten done reading the first few Kingdom Keepers books and quite a bit of action takes place in the castle so we were even more excited just to see the inside! Sure, the food may not be gourmet but we enjoyed the whole experience!

Thanks - she's way more photogenic than I am which is why she's in lots more of the photos! :rotfl2: I really loved the ambiance as well. Did I ever mention that I lived in a castle in college one year? I think I have a fondness for castles now!

Somehow my wishing star ended up in my purse and I've been too sentimental to take it out! It seems like Eilee is spending more and more of her time with friends and in sports (and texting) so it was very special to see her having such a good time there and just hanging out with mom.

I don't think I've ever in my life wished to be more hungry so I could eat more! haha! There were so many things that I wanted to eat but I wasn't hungry enough to manage most of them. And by the way, I never did run one time while I was on vacation! It was tough starting up again!

I love that Brenda made a guest appearance as well! It was so nice to see her again.

I wish I could have taken Eilee there when she was little but it was still fun to take her as a 13 year old. I knew what to expect but I didn't tell her anything so it was all new and fun for her.

And by the way, I never did run one time while I was on vacation! It was tough starting up again!

Neither did I! But I see that you have started back up! :thumbsup2 You are so good! I'm having a hard time doing more than a mile or two right now since I just don't have the time! (Between Dis boards, work, family, and life don't ya know!)

Thanks for the CRT review! I really want to get the lobster and crab crepes AND the the cream cheese stuffed french toast.

I wonder if they would let me! Haha, I wouldn't be able to move.

The pastries look good to me!! It has been years but remember CRT used to be different. It had a different name. Dinner was only prime rib, king & queen cut only. My parents loved it. We joke b/c my brother got prime rib there when he was 3. Anyway, it seems worth it for breakfast. The atmosphere is amazing. :goodvibes

I wish you did this review 2 months ago. My DD16 wore a crown and carried a septer everywhere until kindergarden and after that at home and weekends for many more years. We call her princess and as mature and amazing she is I thought she had outgrown princesses and characters.

I showed her your review and she is so sad she hasn't gone there yet. We cruised on DCL at least once a year as she grew up and didn't go back to the parks until the last couple years (we didn't give up our DCL cruises though, we're addicted sadly). We were in WDW as a mom and DD in August and I decided not to take my DD there because she is picky and would have not eat anything on any of the menus, even kids meals. I thought it was a waste and she wouldn't care about the princesses. I don't care about characters but would love to eat in the castle and would love the experience. I didn't book an ADR. After reading your review we definitely will be going now for our mom and DD trip.

Your DD is so beautiful, with the best smile!! Thank you for putting the catle into perspective for me! Loving your reviews!

Honestly, the kids and I didn't like the breakfast food and our server did not mention the wishing ceremony, so we were leaving when it started. So it was not on our must- dos. However, I booked it for our Dec. trip because my mom and dad are going with us and it is their first time at WDW ( at age 68 and 70). You are right- it is the experience that you are paying for. This may be the one and only time that my mom and dad will be at Disney. We are going for dinner our first night and I am very excited!

My friend and I registered to do a 5K on the 29th so I realized that I'd better start again or I'm going to be one hurting girl on the 29th if I just wing it! :lmao: It's my very first 5K so wish me luck!

I have heard that it's all you can eat but I'm not really sure about that because seeing as I got to try both my food and Eilee's food, I was fine with that! I actually came close to trying the healthy breakfast option but then I came to my senses! :rotfl2:

I'm so glad that the restaurant has evolved to breakfast and lunch and something other than just prime rib! How fun that you have that memory of eating in the castle! :goodvibes I never went until I was an adult which must be why I'm like a little kid with this stuff. Just making up for lost time!

What a cute story about your "princess"!! I honestly didn't know if Eilee would get into the whole princess thing or not. We ate at Chef Mickey's one time when she was about 11 and at that time she was still a little girl but thought that she should act like she was too old for that and it wasn't the best experience. So I was very happy see her enjoying it. I think you can also ask for more of a certain thing or to have something left off if you don't like it. I hope you enjoy it the next time you are in WDW. By the way, Eilee and I went on our very first Disney cruise in January and we loved it so much!! And now I can't wait for our next one in June! I think we are addicted too. ::yes::

How fun that you are taking your mom and dad in Dec! Now that we've tried breakfast I would love to try lunch or dinner (although we are breakfast fanatics and we would do that again!). I'd love to hear about your dinner experience!

I agree! I used to order kid's chicken fingers, since I did not care for the meat choices, all the way up til I was maybe 16 or so.:goodvibes But ur daughter will always have that memory. princess: & I love it!! Stay young & fun & enjoy everything!!!princess:

Before I start our Cali Grill review I remembered something when I was going through my notes about breakfast ast CRT! As the princessses would come over we would stand up and get our photos and sit back down. We did not have them sign autographs because we did it once and we still have that autograph book from years ago. Anyway, I have a scruffy tiny notebook that I was using to take notes on my meals so I'd remember what we ordered and what we thought of it because my memory is shot now that I'm over 40! :rotfl2: When Aurora came over to our table she just picked up my little notebook that was sitting on the table and when she opened it up she immediately realized that it was full of notes in horrible looking penmanship and she looked so embarrassed and said "I apologize! This isn't for autographs?" and I said "I would love your autograph" and I had to turn to a clean page for her. so I've got a notebook full of several trips worth of scribbling and one very nice Aurora autograph! I just came across the autograph in the back of the notes. The poor thing looked mortified for some reason! I hope I did a good job of making her feel like she didn't do something wrong!
