I've stayed at Motel 6 I don't believe I was charged for wifi or for a second person. I don't even think we specifically requested wifi, they just gave us the login info at checkin. At any rate, I haven't stayed at the Quality Inn to compare, but I thought the Motel 6 was just fine. Large room, nothing really wrong with it, and walking distance (I thought the walk would be worse than it was - it was just fine for two adults even after a long day in the parks). If you choose to walk rather than take ART, do be aware that there were not so many people walking that route at the end of the night. I might not have felt safe walking back alone.Motel ^does charge for Wi-Fi and doesn't provide free breakfast, and a microwave and fridge. Plus Motel 6 charges an extra fee for a second person (and of course more for a third, etc.) And no Frequent Stay program.
Also on the topic of security, there was a weird incident when we checked in. We got our room key and went up, and found what seemed to be a room that was cleaned at some point in the day (the bed was made), but that people had used since then. There were food wrappers, some kind of makeup smeared on the bed, and several pieces of clothing in the trash. It was weird and unsettling. It's not that the room wasn't cleaned, it seemed to be that someone had broken into the room and messed around between when it was cleaned and our late-night checkin. But the staff handled it well and moved us to another room for security's sake, and the next morning as we left I saw a security guard and maintenance person checking out the old room. After that experience I certainly wouldn't leave valuables in the room and I would use the deadbolt when in the room, but those are precautions I would take with any budget motel.
