Most under rated restaurant in all of WDW??

I would highly recommend Fresh as so many have, but remember it's not on the DDE, along with the other Swan and Dolphin restaurants because they are not "full" Disney Hotels. (Hit Boma for a great breakfast and the 20% discount if you are on the DDE) Alfredos is also on my list- It has the best fettucini alfredo I've ever had and doesn't get much talk. Mama Melroses is awesome as well.

To me, Kona is under rated. It has nice atmophere, food and less expensive than the signature restaurants. Great breakfast too. :goodvibes

Downtown Disney: Portobello Yacht Club. Menu goes in the direction of Spoodles at the BW, but is better prepared and delivered (great service). Like the Tangerine Cafe, the Portobello hardly ever gets mentioned on the DIS (perhaps suffering from its location next to continually delcining PI); the few reviews I've seen primarily whine about long waits for walk in seating (earth to the whiners...learn the meaning of AR.....)

I agree...Love Portobello YC. We just ate there last week and enjoyed it a lot. We first ate there on our honeymoon almost 5 years ago. It is rather pricey, but the food is always delicious, service wonderful.

I would also agree with the posters who mentioned Kona Cafe. Had a delicious meal there last week too - Macadamia mahi-mahi was incredible!

For under rated I would have to say Liberty Tree Tavern in MK for lunch. We have never been for dinner because I never feel like a thanksgiving type dinner at MK, but lunch is a regular menu. You can almost always get in with out PS and it is always a nice break from the maddness, good prices (depending on what you get) good food and good serivce.

You don't hear people go on about it much, but we always like it.

Oh also the Yacht club galley the same goes for. :goodvibes

Now if either became super hard to get into I might change my mind, but for me part of the atraction is you don't have to work hard for it. :thumbsup2

He has to try it! They say their sister restaurant in Italy invented it. The pasta is made fresh right up front as you walk in the restaurant. I have been to the best Italian restaurant in NYC, Frescoes, and Alfredos' blows theirs away! It is to die for and just typing about it makes the 9 days left until I can get some seen like an eternity!

toonjie, I willl let him know that the recommendation came from a fettucini alfredo aficianado!! Yes, it's one of those dishes he tries to avoid when he is dieting but can never resist, especially on vacation!

Honestly...I think the most under rated restaurant is the Biergarten. It is fabulous! The food is quite good. My DH spent quite a few years living in Germany and he says that the food at the Biergarten is pretty authentic. It's not "Americanized" like a lot of other food types (i.e. Italian, Mexican).

Plus the entertainment is a blast. Our 2 year old DS just loved the show when we were there at Christmas. It's our tradition to eat there each trip.

I feel the most underrated restuarant is Spoodles on the Boardwalk. It food very, very good. By-the-way they also have great breakfast"s.

This is not dinner, but it is a sit down snack with characters.
And know one knows about it. We have been the only ones in the whole place, getting all the attention from Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Chip N Dale.

Mickey's Ice Creame Social.

As long as they offer this, I will not have to stress about Character meals.

Unless something has changed in the last 3 weeks, they no longer offer the Ice Cream Social. That was one of our very favorite things to do, but they discontinued it about a year ago.

Our votes are for Tangierine Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. YUM!

I think Marrakesh in Epcot is under rated - mostly because people are afraid to try something that sounds so different. I have read that it's not very authentic Morrocan food, but as I have never had Morrocan food anywhere else, Marrakesh works for me!

They could give me hot dogs and call it Morroccan --- just keep the bellydancers on stage and I'll shovel it in without complaining.

Fabulous food and service. Never seems all that crowded. V and A's, California Grille and Jiko seem to get all the attention. But this is a great restaurant.

Is Citrico's casual dress (like jeans ok) or more formal?
How about dress at Swan or Dolphin restaurants that have been mentioned?

And the winner of the Most Underated Walt Disney World Restaurant is......

Olivia's at Old Key West. Almost never a problem getting a table and the food is great and, for Disney, reasonably priced with big helpings. But, don't even think about leaving the place unless you have had a bowl, yes a bowl not a cup, of Conch Chowder. Fill that baby to the brim with soda crackers and enjoy. Let the kids go play in the sand and relax with your spouse. Afterwards, take a stroll around the pool area and check out the gift shop. (piped in music is basically non-stop Garth Brooks singing "Gimme two pina coladas I gotta have one for each hand") What a great evening. I wish we had that planned for tomorrow, instead we are stuck in St. Louis listening to the freezing rain hit the window and waiting for snow.

Under rated/hidden gems, whatever you want to call them
Grand Floridian Cafe
Olivia's
The Plaza Restaurant

Weathergirl: "Jean pants" are an acceptable item in the WDW "business casual" dress code. Seen jeans at ALL the Swan/Dolphin restaurants that have been mentioned.
