Most Overrated Food in Disney

LOL...I hope not! Although I would be curious to see the ingredient list for a Dole Whip! :magnify:

Sugar, Dextrose, Coconut Oil, Stabilizers (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor (contains Pineapple Juice), Modified Food Starch, Malic Acid, Beta Carotene (Color), Mono & Diglycerides, Less Than 2% Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking).

It is pretty much Franken-food. :)

Just so you know, this is the recipe for jungle juice is mango juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine and lemonade. ;) No pomegranate. They had it on our Carnival Cruise, too. It is pretty much orange juice and mango juice.

1 1/2 cups mango juice

1/2 cup pineapple concentrate, thawed

1/2 cup lemonade concentrate, thawed

2 cups fresh orange juice

3 cups water

4 Tablespoons grenadine

Not to be that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy. Grenadine is made from pomegranate. It actually derives its name from the French word for pomegranate.

:crazy2: LOL Thanks!

Pizza at Via Napoli and Dole Whips. I wanted to like Dole Whips so much, but I just do not.

So true! See, I hate the beignets at POFQ and most everyone else seems to love them. Perhaps it's because the ones I received at POFQ weren't cooked correctly (way too chewy), but I bet it really is because I compared them in my head to the "real" ones I've had at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. I just couldn't help it.

I also don't like the pizza at Via Napoli all that much, likely for the same sort of reason. New York has some of the best pizza in the world, so its hard for me to be wowed by pizza.

That being said, I don't think I've had anything at WDW that I would say, yuck, I would never try that again. Everything was either mostly fine or mostly good with a few standouts here and there.
:thumbsup2

You are absolutely correct that real grenadine is made from pomegranate, but the commercial stuff is not, sadly. It is made from High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Red 40, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Blue 1.

Absolutely, positively, Dole Whips. I was so disappointed when I finally had it last trip.

Also Mickey Waffles are very generic tasting.

Mine would be the School Bread in Norway. I just don't get it! :confused3 :rolleyes1
and had I had it just in the last few years I would totally agree! Years ago it was twice the size, so moist, never stale! What they dish out today pales in comparison to the school bread of yesteryear! Now, Zebra Domes, always dry, don't get it and Tonga Toast, it gags me it's so sweet, but to each his own!

Well for me, anything in the bakery in Italy, can't think of the name of it or if it has a name. I hate Zebra Domes, so disappointed. Boma, we hated it, will never go back. Was disappointed in Via Napoli, might eat there again but so did not live up to the hype, maybe just try something different. TRex was awful, but does Disney own that one, is it a chain like Rainforest? Turkey legs smell wonderful but are disgusting!!!! There are probably a few others but that's all I can remember right now.

The Turkey Legs .... I just don't get it..... unless you are Fred Flintstone.

I don't like the zebra domes either... I thought I was the only one! I also don't like the Mickey ice cream bars. But, I don't like any vanilla ice cream, so no offense, Mickey!

Grey stuff, Dole whip, Grand Marnier slush, Tonga Toast, School bread, and the God-forsaken pressed brioche ice cream sandwich! It's ice cream on BREAD! Nasty! A unanimous thumbs down in our family.
