I showed my kids a science video (Mystery Doug if you're in the know) that showed a voice activated LED mask that was pretty funny. The best one I've seen in person was today at the store, a guy was wearing one that was a scruffy face with bad teeth, but what made it so funny is it matched his skin tone so well I had to do a double-take to see if it was him or a mask 🤣

What's the best you've seen? Add a pic if you can!

Not so sure they are as safe as the double cloth ones or my K95's when I am near people but I really like the glittery masks because if you need to wear one you might as well be fabulous. I see them as I do curbside :)
A couple co-workers have these. They work for them. But would look completely silly on me.

My masks are probably the LEAST interesting. Basic black.

Me too I wear the disposable blue
Same for me. My workplace began providing unlimited PPE to staff and our families back in August when our mandate went in. I’ve never worn anything but the 3-ply blue non-surgicals. Around here lately I’ve begun seeing a lot of transparent plastic face shields that are suspended from a sort of eye-glasses type frame. DH has now taken to wearing a transparent plastic mask but his type is still suspended from ear loops. They sit a little off the chin and he says they’re better with his glasses.

I really hope to not derail this thread, but face shields are not a replacement for masks. They are to be worn over masks. Even the kind with the ear loops. Our dance studio tried to use those and they are still open at the top. For a mask to be effective, it has to sit on the face all the way around.

Mine are all pretty basic. I did just order some “fancy” ones. I have no place to go, but am hoping that at some point this year, I’ll be able to wear them some place, figuring masks are around for this year as least.

I don’t know the most creative one I’ve seen. I think it’s maybe the one you posted OP!

I’m not sure “effective” is really everybody’s priority as much as simply complying with requirements. There are still tons of people here wearing gaitors.

Which I understand. And would never suggest you police other people. I was telling you more for your husband in case you didn’t know. They’re useless without a mask underneath. Do with it what you will 🤷‍♀️

Maybe if it was we wouldn’t be in the situation we are in.
Maybe. I guess we'll never really know.

I do think useless is probably not quite accurate; a big piece of plastic from forehead to chin does at least slow the velocity and change the trajectory of droplets from coughs and sneezes. Now gaitors are a bit of a different thing. Way early on I watched a lady proudly vape through her gaitor and the visual of her exhaling a huge cloud of steam was, shall we say, very informative.

I would have no problem with mask-type being regulated based on efficacy, but since they're not, it's kind of a non-starter. Some places do have their own requirements. In medical offices here, for example, one must remove whatever kind of mask they have on and put on the disposable PPE provided there. My salon was doing the same thing with customers until they were completely shut down again in November.

One of mine is a take on the State Farm Insurance moto: "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is there".

Mine is: Like a Good Neighbor, Stay Over There

Edited to add: Face shields without a mask underneath are banned at my wifes office along with neck gaiters, masks with vents and bandanas.

Is this a convoluted way of saying they are required to double mask, or am I not understanding what you are describing.
