Most Famous Person

Key word: NOW.

Back then, did they flock just to see Paul? Nope. And I should have knew John Lennon.. That was a mental error. So, I know three members lol.

And I think most people are missing the point here. The question was asked by the OP about the most famous person of our time. He was asked that by his dad, who grew up in the MJ era. To truly answer the OP's question, it's unfair to draw people who weren't nearly as famous in our era as others. Yes, they're very well known and still famous, but they were probably far more well known in other times, more than likely when we weren't alive. Jackson's pinnacle of his career was most likely in the early '80's. The Beatles' pinnacle was in the '60's. You get the point.
That's enough. :goodvibes George Harrison was the worst, IMO.

Unless you're talking about the Virgin Mary I'd say you were crazy for bringing her up as someone more famous than Elvis.

The Elvis donut is more famous than Elvis the singer, IMO. If you tell me "elvis" I think of a nice gooey donut topped with bacon and banana.

I'd like to see you try. :goodvibes
Micheal Jackson
John Lennon
Barack Obama
George Washington
Abraham Lincoln
Christopher Columbus
Martin Luther King Jr.
Albert Einstein
Charles Darwin

...shall I go on? I believe it's a matter of opinion. I think a lot of these people are *gasp* even more famous than Elvis.

who was talking about elton john?:confused3

I'm a little lost on that one as well....

I stated I only knew two Beatles members [McCartney and Starr], but I actually know three. The third being John Lennon. I was saying I should have remembered Lennon, since one of my favorite songs is written about him. That song is Empty Garden by Elton John.

I'd add Mark Twain. XD

Oh, okay, thank you for explaining.

Micheal Jackson - most famous alive for a while but won't even come close to Elvis' fame.
John Lennon - Not quite. The Beatles as a whole maybe but not a single one.
Barack Obama - Most famous alive probably. He comes close maybe but I'd still venture to say that more people know of Elvis
George Washington - Not if we're counting whole world
Abraham Lincoln - Not if counting whole world
Christopher Columbus - Outside of Italy + Americas, no
Martin Luther King Jr. - Not outside of USA
Albert Einstein - A good one, I'll give ya that. Maybe close to as famous as Elvis.
Charles Darwin - Lol no

i disagree on that one, but only by a little bit.

eta, i think those are more famous than elvis in america, but on a global standpoint, not quite. i think its really hard to judge most famous. (i'm just glad rpatz isn't in the running anymore :p)

I'm sad for all the hate on Charles Darwin. Maybe I'm just a dork, but I'm thinking the introduction of the evolution theory was very important...

But anyways, like I said, it's a matter of opinion.

I take back what I said about Einstein being close to as famous as Elvis. He's deff not unless we're only talking about English-speaking world

i think a lot of people globally know what he did, but not necessarily who did it. that was what made me say no.

i disagree on that one, but only by a little bit.

lol If only anyone actually cared about evolution would he be more famous. In my opinion, he should be in the top five for what he's done for the scientific community.

Of course, evolution is a huge part of nutrition, so that's probably why I like him so much.

lol for some odd reason me and you seem to be agreeing a lot in this thread.

he was totally awesome fo sho, just not anywhere close to most famous person ever. No one hates Darwin except for Creationists but they have other issues to worry about so who cares?
