Most Economical Resort - Beyond Year 1

High point cost accommodations that almost never need home resort priority so you might as well buy the best value SAP/network points you can get to stay in them if that's your goals. Cabins at WL/CCV and Bungalows at Poly fit this bill :)

I'm sorta in this camp so when I can expand my empire (of points) in the coming decade+ I'll be very tempted to just by very cheap points (dues inclusive) to stay in those.
After the novelty wears off, I think the penthouses at poly will be pretty easy to get seven months as well. May even be the easiest to get.

Thank you so much for this. This is fantastic data and analysis. I'm a numbers person with a finance background and I’m really impressed.

I actually did some modeling and financial analysis myself and came to a similar conclusion, which is why I went with SSR for my first contract a few months ago.

My analysis wasn’t nearly as detailed, but I did calculate NPV, future cash flows versus real-time costs, and ran some ROI scenarios in case I decided to rent or partially rent points in certain years. The results lined up pretty closely with what you found.

Of course, there will always be an emotional factor that can’t be measured in this kind of analysis. But for someone like me, this is exactly the type of insight I look for.
I think SSR has the biggest exit risk of all of the WDW SAP resorts. It also has zero home priority benefit.

Yep, thank you for saying what I think is accurate. And now that Ive seen it in person I am so much more in love with my SAP choices of CCV and AUL-S. I bought CCV as SAP even though the upfront was more, and the CCV up front pricing has increased since I bought, I could sell it now and make $$, SSR has declined in value. So happy my very first offer ever at SSR was declined.

It goes back to the “deep value” vs “quality at a reasonable price” debate.

💯!!

Vero Beach is probably the biggest exit risk, but it has some home resort priority benefits. Even OKW had the cheap GV that are 11 month only rooms.

I like SSR ( would stay there over OKW/AK ) but I would not buy points - I use my Poly resale as SAP But CCV or BLT might have been a better choice.

The biggest wildcard is do you want SAP or SAP+ points (+ = direct points to avoid FOMO at future restricted resorts). I wonder how awesome those rooms on the water at revenge of reflections (Lakeshore) will be or other similar expensive to book rooms in future expansion rooms and resort flips (when they rebuild whatever they put at BWV and BCV 2.0 a "few" years from now....).

I do have some regret on not having a big bucket of SAP points but so far my "cheap" Riviera direct points have already been a good buy to get me into some rooms (a few nights in a VDH GV for my sons bday using points that were at least 25% cheaper than VDH direct). A few years from now if I'm lucky to have a chance to buy a big bucket of points at value I'd have a hard choice to make if DVC offers a very good firesale on direct points.

Usually a safe bet and recommended given this is a site I’m guessing most of us escape to in hopes to plan our next trip away from the “fun” of work/stress of “real” life :)
Yep. I saw the original post and I don’t think it was warranted; glad it was changed. No need to assume the worst; most have good intent here!

It was 100% warranted based off previous interactions. Well when someone follows you around and feels the need to poke at you it's hard to not want to defend yourself. I shouldn't have to put someone on ignore to be left alone.

I dunno. It’s a public forum; you sort of have to ignore the folks driving you nuts or you sound like “don’t @ me!”

But I didn’t see the prior interactions.

I am fine with debates I have had plenty of them on this forum, I can handle differing opinions. I don't take kindly being told to apologize for mine, especially by a man. And yes dont @me, regardless of how you think that makes me sound.

Nobody buys VB as SAP. If they are smart enough to know what SAP is they should be smart enough to know VB as SAP is a terrible, no good, very bad idea.
How am i following you when you reply to my thread with another poster ? You were not in the discussion ( not that you were unwelcome, but I was not replying to you or in a conversation with you)

I do not change any debate because the gender of the person. Most of the time I don't even know on a forum.

But when your having a discussion and someone makes absolutist statements like no one gets VB as SAP or hyperbolic statements you should expect to called out on them regardless of gender. ( I have been called out many times and been proven wrong many times)

However, my flippant response to what I perceive was a hyperbolic statement ( I think it was about reservations going for over $30 a point) caused you any offense , I do apologize for that as I was only trying to make the point that this very forum has an average about $19 / point for rentals. I will refrain from doing that in the future as it was not fair.

Your quite insulting reply regarding my frequent failure to correct my VR text from Polly to Poly - was in fact much worse yet I was able to move on and ignore it as it was just a heated debate.
