Which of the attractions at WDW do you find the most attractive?

I say Splash Mountain...

The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground set at MGM makes beautiful picture shots. I thought it was a creative playground setting.

Most of Disney's rides are are just extremely high end versions of carnival type rides. For instance Mission:Space is like the Gravitron or even Tower of Terror is just a drop ride. So if your talking the most creative, I think you have to look at some of the boat rides, particularly Pirates of the Caribbean. Their isn't really any ride that compares to it in the world. For it's time, it must have been a huge undertaking and the amount of detail is astounding. I don't know the exact details but the amount of space it takes up must be fairly large and to build a flume ride that is as detailed as POTC, that takes up all that space, is phenomenal. Besides, it's just an awesome ride. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I would have to agree on Fantasmic, pictures on the water, a fire on the water. Very creative indeed.

By the same token I could say that Pirates is just a boat trip inside a "dark ride" (like the old-time "Tunnel of Love" attractions at a carnivals and amusement parks).

The creativity of ToT and PotC (as examples) lies in how the attractions are PRESENTED.

ToT does not merely take a load of guests and bouce them in a cage (ala a carny ride).
It takes them FIRST into the Twilight Zone atmosphere (and an amazingly themed hotel) to do the drops. Then DURING the drops, different events occur on various trips... the guests don't know which VERSION to expect.

THAT'S the CREATIVE part of an attraction.

So yes, PotC is a GREAT attraction, but I would never dismiss ToT as being "just like" the carny "drop-rides".

How about the Haunted Mansion, I love the details here. I also agree with Fantasmic

IMHO, they're all extremely creative. It was Walt Disney's vision and ability to take what are basic carnival rides and make them so special. Six Flags has great rides but that's all they are. Disney's one of a kind theming turn a ride into a unforgetable experience. :)

Good point. The fact is that trying to pick out of the best of the best is a hard thing to do. Everything that the Imagineers have created has some element that could put it over the top. I guess that's why Disney's the best. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I don't know if I could pick out one that stands out from the rest in creativity.

I love HM and POTC for all those little details they incorporate into the ride.
While it's not my favorite fireworks show, I think Fantasmic is amazing in the way it's set up.
I think the safari at AK is creative in how they worked it out so the animals were in sight of people while appearing to be free roaming.

Oh there's more...I think everything is just amazing.

I think the most creative attraction at WDW WAS Cranium Command at Epcot in the now-closed Wonders of Life pavilion. While I don't claim to be an expert, it's hard to think of anything like it anywhere else.

First time I saw Crush in that little "tank", I was blown away.

The guy is HILARIOUS!

I definitely disagree about Tower of Terror being "just a drop ride".

Unlike some of Disney's coasters, etc. ToT wasn't made from an off-the-shelf ride, the ride system is totally different and the experience is totally different too...the simple fact that the elevator moves forward makes a huge difference in the experience. And like was mentioned, with the new drop sequencing, every ride is different.

So it goes up and down from a tall height, but that's the only similarity.

I agree. The first time I rode ToT at MGM and the 'vator LEFT the SHAFT...
my jaw became UNHINGED!

But I guess the Imagineers didn't think it was important enough to the "show" to include this portion of the ride in the DCA version of ToT in California. I have not ridden that version yet, but I read that the elevators don't "cross-over" in that one.

Now that I think about it a little more, you guys are right about the TOT. It is a phenomenal experience no matter how you look at it. Turtle Talk was mentioned. I haven't seen the attraction as of yet (will in Sept. though) but by the sounds of it, it is an incredible feat.

Well, don't be too quick to drop PotC as your pick.
I remember the first time I rode it at Disneyland (a far superior version of the attraction there, IMHO) and my family was ENAMORED by its complexity and innovation.
Pirates forever changed the way story-based theme-park rides were going to be built. It was ground-breaking!

Its a knock-out. Deceptively simple, perfectly conceived, and thoroughly entertaining.
Its in such a small room that everyone feels like they're a part of the show (and many of them actually ARE.)
Very high-tech (but you'd never know from just LOOKING at it).

Crush is one super DUDE!

There are several rides that make it so creative:

*M:S
*SpM
*ToT
*RnRc
*POTC

And one of them that isn't a ride but an attraction is The Muppet Theatre.
