Most comfortable walking shoe for WDW

I always buy a new pair of Adidas and start breaking them in about 2 weeks ahead of time. Never had a blister yet in all my trips!!! Absolutely love my Adidas!!

Just my 2 cents worth here guys but, since I've never tried crocs I have experience with Saucony and Easy Spirit. The Saucony shoes are really cushy and easy to walk in but, as much as we walk at WDW I wonder if anything will really keep feet from being achy?
My advice to myself and others is to take MOLESKIN and tuck your shoe laces inside your shoes. The moleskin was a true miracle for my dec 06 trip and tucking the laces in helps not having to stop and tie laces at weird times and places:yay: .
I do think I'll try crocs this year and see if they are as great as everyone says.

With a number of walking and cross training shoes. DH got some New Balance which worked for him. I wore my current walking shoes, Reebok, but I usually prefer Avia. DS wore Etonic walking shoes most days, but did try his crocs when we went to DTD.

I have yet to try crocs, maybe a present for me soon!!

Have fun.

you will have a million ppl on here tell you to get crocs, but if you go in the winter...I don't think they look so hot with sock, so I am traditional, good ole sneakers/tennis shoes. I prefer Nike or new balance, wear thicher socks than you normally do and break them in ahead of time, and they never have failed me! I don't get blisters (but sometimes wear those rubbery heel band aids just in case, they stay on for days!) and I am very comfortable in them. good luck!

I wear socks with mine all the time unless I have shorts. The secret is to wear the same color socks as your Crocs. I wear navy socks with my University of Michigan Crocs and black socks with my Disney black Crocs with the red strap.

Crocs are by far the best shoes to wear at Disney:thumbsup2

Totally agree...I finally broke down and tried Crocs while we were at Disney. WOW...I didn't even take them off. I bought them on Main Street and I walked out of the store with them on and only take them off when my wife insists that I wear another shoe.

I always thought that Crocs looked goofy and I would never try them...I don't care what they look like now...they are amazing!

With shorts no socks, but in any long pants I wear socks to match the crocs (both my Disney ones and my GATOR crocs). Yes...the Gators winners of back to back Basketball championships, separated only by a National Championship in football too...Wooooo-Hooooo!

I find a sandal with some cushion to it and a soft backstrap that are broken in work well.

I'm a nurse and we have been wearing crocs for years and that is what I wear to WDW. I have to wear socks with them because they are creepy without but I wear the no show kind. I don't care if I look funny, those people will never see me again.

Amen, amen, amen! And if they do see me again and remember I am the lady who had ugly shoes, then they have a better memory than I do! :lmao:

In Oct 2005 I wore Nikes and socks and had blisters before I got to the park the first day just from all the airport running. Was in absolute misery the whole next week.

In Dec 2006 I wore crocs  every day of our 8 day trip and never got a blister or hotspot. So they are going back next week when I go again for 8 days, and I got new Mickey ones to take too...the best shoe money I ever spent was on my crocs!

This really depends on what is confortable to you. There is not a cut and dry answer. Whatever is confortable to you is what you should wear.

Buy a good pair of sneakers that fit your feet well. Wear them before you go to WDW.

There are sandals and then there are sandals ...

My entire family gave up sneakers YEARS ago for theme park wear. Unless we are there in the dead of winter, we stick strictly to sports sandals. Some folks here have already mentioned Chacos and Tevas; we're mostly a Merrell family. (All of us have rather bony feet, and Tevas just hit the wrong spots for us.) If you want more complete foot coverage, your best bets are probably Keens. If you wear orthotics, Bite sandals will accomodate them (but be sure not to buy the golf spike models!)

If we do go in winter we wear shoes meant for hiking; normally Merrell Jungle Mocs. All of these shoes can get wet (the shoes less so than the sandals) as they are meant for all-weather outdoor sports. They are NOT cheap, though, unless you can catch them on clearance, mostly they will run about $80-90 per pair.

Regular casual sandals are NOT meant for this kind of serious walking; don't bother with them.

I wear Clark sandals. I have several pairs that I alternate between. Have never had any problems at all!

Another vote for crocs, from a guy. I tried them out on a two park commando day in March to see how I would like them for our upcomming trip in June with the whole family and they passed the test. I've actually started wearing them at home more now too since this past trip.

Without having read the rest of the responses, let me say that the most important thing is the SOCKS!

I wore my regular old running shoes, but I wore really good Under Armour athletic socks. I didn't get a single blister, and we walked ALL DAY.

I went ahead and bought crocs cause everyone was raving....I wear them around the house everywhere but at WDW I wore them to the pool and stayed in my nikes the rest of the time...kind of afraid to be out and get a blister or something to make me have to go back to the room...but my daughter lives in hers...and my Nikes were cheaper than my crocs...

I took a pair of Keens, a pair of Reeboks, a pair of casual sandals, Croc niles and Croc Beach.

I wore the casual sandals one night to dinner at Boma, wore the Keens once (boy, my feet were tired at the end of the day!) but for the other 7 days of our trip last year, I lived in my Crocs. Love, love my Crocs! My DH and DD wore theirs almost the entire trip as well, and none of us had any foot trouble.

I had also bought us all some seamless Feetures socks made with Cool Max, they felt awesome! (And yes, I wore them with my Crocs :rotfl: )

I will never wear tennis shoes to Disney again! I know it sounds funny to say that, but on my first trip it rained our first day. My shoes & socks were drenched and I was uncomfortable & miserable all evening. Then it took about 2 days for my shoes to dry out. I've heard Crocs are comfortable, but I've never tried them. I recommend Reef Sandals. They aren't too expensive, and are heavier than a regular flip flop. The "Fanning" or "Slap" style has some nice cushion & is cool for a hot day. Also, those two are rubber so they are not uncomfortable when they get wet because they don't absorb all of the water. I also have a pair of the "Leather Slap" style and they do well at WDW too. You can order them at www.reef.com, www.zappos.com or www.amazon.com.
