We have only visited WDW in the winter, now we are going in August. What is the mosquito problem like then? My husband is a HUGE bug magnet. Will he be miserable? We will have the deet with us, but is that enough at night in the parks? We staying at WL, does being on th lake make it a lot worse? Does Disney spray to keep the critters at a minimum? Thanks!

The parks arent a problem and I dont really remember there being a mosquito problem at the resorts either, but I have not stayed at WL.

The love bugs on the other hand are everywhere. If you have never heard of love bugs before mark my words you will never forget them LOL! They tend to be EVERYWHERE!

Have to agree with the above post. We have been to WDW in August the last 3 years and the love bugs are the problem. They don't really bother you like mosquitoes, but they are everywhere and can still "bug" you. :)

We just returned from our trip on 7/6 - 7/11. All of us got bug bites and saw some pretty killer sized flying insects. I would take insect repellent and use it lightly. None of us got eaten up, but all were bitten at least 2 - 3 times.

We go to WL in August. Disney sprays, but there are still bugs. At WL, don't walk around the wooded walkways at night--go through the lobby and stay by the pool area. And use bug spray. And any boat docks are usually bad at night, so carry the spray with you.

I'm a bug magnet and it's not unbearable, but be mindful.
