morning sickness help

The best thing for nausea during pregnancy is Papaya Enzyme. You can get it a GNC. It is all natural and works great for heartburn and nausea even after you deliver.

I swear by it. I keep a bottle in my desk drawer at work, in my car and some in my purse. I used it the whole time I was pregnant. It is a natural antacid. My mom recommended it to me and I always recommend it to people even if they aren't pregnant. I got my best friend hooked.

When I was pregnant, I had to do inventory and they did not allow food in the warehouse. My boss caught me crewing something and I told him it was just my papaya and if I didn't have that, I couldn't be at work. Since I had to be there, he made the exception because it really wasn't food, it was kind of like having Tums with me and told one of the other supervisors about it so that I could keep it with me.

They sell these "candies" at the materity stores that was helpful for my more "mild" sickness.

I did accupressue with my 2nd child that got me over the hump of horrible sickness to tolerable.

I have heard that "ginger' works--but ginger ale drinks sold commercially in regular stores is artificially flavored. I threw mine up immediately.

Last pregnancy was so gosh darn bad that I tried 2 medications. The 2nd one work. It was very weird to be starving and thirsty and incapable of keeping a single drop of water or morsel of food down.

So if it gets too bad, don't shy away from the medicines. They have horrible side affects (constipation)--but they were what was needed for me to get back on track. Then I only took them on really bad days and used those candies on others. I wish I remembered what they are called.

I'm pretty sure all I ate/drank for the first 16 weeks were:

1) Bubbly water or tap water (I couldn't stand bottled water), cold with lemon
2) Sour lemonade
3) Sour Jolly Ranchers or lemonheads (crucial, I always had some in my purse)
4) Crunchy lettuce (like iceberg)
5) Occasionally I could choke down crackers or chex mix

My midwife offered Zofran on a couple of visits, and I was close to taking it. A friend used it and it worked very very well.

After 16 weeks, it tapered off quite a bit, and I was able to eat normally again, for the most part. Plus I was on the twin diet, so burgers and shakes galore!
