Watching The Talk for the first time but I prefer The View more; probably because I've been watching it for years.

Has anyone seen both?

Welllll.... I flat out refuse to watch The Talk since it replaced my soap opera that I grew up on.

Not a huge fan of The View, either. If I wanted to listen to a group of women bickering, I'd just go to work ;)

Hehe. I haven't heard very good reviews of The Talk. I'm not sure how it's doing, ratings-wise. If I were to watch one of these, the people on Talk interest me more than the ones on View.

I was forced to watch The Talk in a hospital waiting room last month, and I was fascinated by how truly awful it was. Julie Chen told an obnoxious story about being "bullied" by a guy behind her in a movie theater because he told her to turn off her phone (she was texting before the movie). Whatever...it hardly qualifies as being truly bullied. And the story went on and on and on and on. I was embarrassed for her, when she talked about her responses to him. If that episode was an indication of the quality of the show, I'm surprised it's on.

The View, I record, but rarely watch...they just drop off the DVR recorded shows. If I do watch, I fast forward a lot.

I DVR The Talk and fast forward through a lot of it. Leah Remini (or however you spell her name) drives me INSANE. Sarah and Julie are slightly less annoying then Leah. I really like Sharon and Holly... they seem down to earth.

I can't wait the view. Elizabeth drives me nuts.

I've watched the talk a few times. Its ok. There was one show that Leah Remini and Sara Gilbert were talking about going to Disneyland. Leah is a true diser, she had everything planned out. Sara was just planning on showing up about 10 and doing whatever. That segment was really funny.

I have yet to see the blonde girl on the show. She is the 6th host and she is never there. I think her name is Melissa.

I stopped watching the View a few years ago, just got too annoying. I have taped it a few times because of a guest I wanted to see and really could not watch the "Hot Topics" they just talk over each other.

I have only seen The Talk once and not the whole show. Julie Chen has no personality, she is just so monotone. Wasn't impressed with the other ladies either. Their opinions have no meaning for me so I have no reason to watch it.

The View is totally off my viewing schedule.....I can't tolerate all those shrill harpies yakking at the same time so no one can be understood!:headache:
The Talk appears to be The View Part II.

I've seen The View a couple of times - don't care for everyone trying to talk above each other and/or all at once. Gives me a :headache:

I've seen The Talk once, because I do like Julie Chen and Leah Remini but didn't care at all for the show so have never watched it again.

I prefer the Talk a little more because it seems less political and more humorous than the View.

This is what my wife said. She has come to hate the View since the days in which Rosie turned it on its head. She likes the Talk so far, but thinks it will turn to politics eventually.

I saw that show, and I've gotta say it really made me like Leah:rotfl: She can be a little loud, and I don't agree with everything she says, but I find her the most interesting and most fun to watch. Sara just seems really weird to me. I agree with the pp that said Sharon and Holly seem the most down to earth and Julie is really pretty boring and seems to take forever to say what she wants to say.

I remember this episode and couldn't believe how long it took for her to tell that story  ... I was like, ummm, don't they have to go to commercial? ... but I guess since Julie's DH is president & CEO of the network, she can talk for as long as she wants, no matter how boring  ...

I do, however, admit, to watching both The View and The Talk  ... as far as which one I like better - as of now, I think it's a draw ... Elisabeth totally drives me crazy on The View, yet Leah can be a bit annoying to me also ... even though Julie may run long with her stories ;), I do like her more than Barbara Walters ... and btw, I have been noticiing that Barbara has become a bit snappy as of late, I'm just saying ... I do like Holly & Sharon, as well as, Whoopie & Joy ... but Sara is a bit boring to me (as is Sherry), however, since Sara is an executive producer of The Talk, I don't see her going anywhere ...

The one thing I do like more about The Talk is that I believe all of their shows are live ... I believe The View tapes their Friday shows ... I prefer a 'live" show vs. a "taped" show ... :)

I saw a couple of the talk episodes and Leah Remini drives me nuts. She will not settle down, keeps trying to "high five" Sharon, interupts with jokes, interjects her own antecdotes when someone is talking, loudly proclaims things like, "Meeee Tooooo!" when someone is talking, and fake laughs at her jokes when she interupts someone.

I tried to like it, but I was so annoyed with her! The funny thing is, I really liked her on the King of Queens.

I do like Sharon and Sara though.

I dislike Leah Remini so much therefore i've never watched the show.

I love the View, but I tape it and only mostly watch Hot Topics when i'm home from work in the evenings. I FF through the parts I don't like. The one thing about the View that bothers me is how Joy coughs through the entire opening and almost every interview.

Me too. Something about canceling a show that predates television, and replacing it with a show featuring the boss's wife, just didn't sit well with me.

I still feel like the last year of ATWT was meant to turn fans away from the show. Just wonder how long this replacement was in the works........:rolleyes1

There are still days that I come home and pull up my recorded shows, expecting to see it there.

I totally forgot that Julie was married to Les. UGH. Ya know, that really makes me even madder now. What a joke.

I miss my "friends"... and my "enemies".

Julie Chen's husband is the President of CBS. So its not a coincidence that As The World Turns was cancelled and replaced with this show a month later. Think about it, they have had some A list stars on this show in under a short time being on air. Money talks and BS walks! That's why this show isnt going anywhere any time soon. I don't mind Leah, she reminds me of a lot of women in my family. Someone should tell Sharon to put her shoes back on and put her feet back on the floor though.:rolleyes1

LOL... when Sharon sits on the couch touching her feet...ewwww....that totally grosses me out.
