More questions about the nursery...

(My daughter will be turning 1 on the cruise) I've posted questions previously, but now I have more... The questions seem to just pop into my head at random times (perhaps it's mommy brain).

How does drop off and pick up work? I've already registered my daughter and we've set our password. Does she her mickey band need to stay on? Should I put it on her ankle or wrist? I read somewhere that the older kids have a little clip that keeps the mickey band in place and that if they have an allergy it's red to alert the cast members. Do the little ones have this clip as well?
If we pick up early are we charged for the whole time? What if we drop off 5-10 minutes early?
We have a 7:30 dinner reservation, so I set the nursery reservation for 7:30--is that okay?
For our excursion, I gave us a 30 minute prior to excursion drop off and an hour after estimated return time to pick up (I wanted to make sure we were covered).
What if I don't want my child watching a lot of tv while in the nursery? Do I just mention that to the cast member?

Thank you! I'm sure I'll have more questions! On a side note: has anyone used the complimentary strollers that are available at guest services? If so, how was your experience and do you have any pictures of the stroller?

I'm not sure about the chip portion, but we have previously set aside 30 minutes. Sometimes, our DD would have a little separation anxiety so it took 5-15 minutes to settle her down and then we would be on our way. If we're lucky, we get a leisurely stroll to the restaurant and we can enjoy a cocktail prior to our reservation time.

They will NOT put a clip on the band for the little kids, its a choking hazard.

If they dont' want to wear their wristband, the staff will find a way.
My 3 year old is positively allergic to wristbands. His would be on a beltloop, his shoe lace, pretty much anywhere the staff could attach it.

I didn't have a problem just dropping my guy off, both times I decided I needed the nursery there was space.
(I dropped him off to nap there, so we weren't stuck in the room.)

We didn't realize that as we had only been for the open houses and took our son (who was already asleep) so we could watch a movie. We thought we'd be able to just carry him in and put him in the crib and leave, but we were made to pass him over the gate to a CM who took him the rest of the way to the crib. Of course, it makes perfect sense and I had no issues with it... just wanted to give you an idea of how it works.

I'm glad to hear they don't include the chip! I was worried about the choking hazard as everything goes in my daughter's mouth! I'm glad to hear the staff makes it work by finding a place to put the wristband--I can totally see my daughter trying to take it off! So, did you walk up and see if there was space available?

To answer a couple of questions, our baby was 6 months when he went to the nursery, so they attached his Mickey Band to his baby bag. If you don't want your little one to watch tv, I'm sure it would be no problem to keep her occupied elsewhere--at least for a while. And if there aren't any bigger kids, they could probably just turn it off.
Oh, and I was exclusively nursing at that point, so they let me come in and walk through to a room in the back with rockers. I arrived a bit early to nurse the baby so that we would have maximum time without fussing. If you're nursing, that could be an option for you, too. And it would give your little one some time to get used to the room.

Infants were given a mickey band and they recommended we attach it to the diaper bag we dropped off during nursery time so it is not on them but is still needed to check them in and out

Early pickups we just showed up and were only charged for the time she was actually there, although we felt it would have been fair to be charged for the whole reservation. One night she just wouldn't settle so we picked her up after only an hour.

I think it would be fine to mention a limit on tv. I didn't see many kids zoned out on tv anyhow. The novelty of new toys seemed to draw my little one in more, and the tv wasn't on all the time, except when older toddlers were there.

Our experience on the Magic in June was phenomenal. The staff was awesome and so kind to our little one. There was only one gal my daughter didn't like going with - but she wasn't a regular staff person. She just didn't have 'the touch'.

They also seemed to go through a lot of wipes. No issue with that - I just needed to send lots. Also, one day she got messy and they had spare clothes I just returned when clean.

Sorry for the random question: do you have to get a Mickey band if you are thinking of putting your child into the nursery? Do we need to get it before hand or will we be given it when booking the nursery?

You will get it when you register your child on the ship.
You can do that at the nursery or in the terminal.

Older kids wear theirs all the time, the clip attaches semi-permanently.

The little kids don't get the clip, so you can keep yours in the diaper bag or wherever.

My daughter will be 14 months old. She no longer requires us to rock her to sleep - just plunk her in and she's good - but she also has a favorite stuffed duck that she literally sleeps on top of all night. Of course, on vacation and off routine, all bets are off so if she needs rocking, will they do it?

Yes, they will rock. And it's very cool peeking in and seeing Snow White rocking a baby in her arms

I've seen lots of kids with stuffed animals in there, so I assume they'd put them in the cot with them. My kids never slept with a favourite animal so I can't say for sure though.

I've seen lots of kids with stuffed animals in there, so I assume they'd put them in the cot with them. My kids never slept with a favourite animal so I can't say for sure though.

Omg. If I saw Snow White (or any character) rocking my daughter I'd burst into tears of pure Disney happiness and then somehow get them to let me take a picture. Haha! Also, I hate the stupid duck she sleeps with. LOL. I tried to see if I could swap it out for something cuter and smaller (it's so giant) but no luck. Stuck with the giant duck forever.
