Breaker breaker Moo Thread. This here is W/T. (which ends in T which stands for trouble, btw) I have been on the standby for way too long now. So, clean the peanut butter out of yer ears, I feel a posting frenzy about to happen. I have been busy trying to earn trading stamps. My clients have been busy putting the pedal to metal and feeding the bears. I have not been feeding the ponies (although I did pick Hard Spun recently, crud) The First Sargent has been providing plenty of homework as well. Well, I'm out for now. Keep it between the ditches. Catch ya on the flip flop.

Good afternoon friends! I have caught up from only the last 3 pages so if something has happened between the 16th and the last 3 pages fill me in please!

I hope everyone is doing well. Life is crazy here as always. Especially will school starting to wind down.

I survived the school reunion including a speech that I had to make. :scared1: Me no likey public speakey. Alas, I could not find a new outfit that I liked that would be appropriate to wear so I just wore an oldie. Ah well.

bye gators!

Sid- so goog to see you- I woke up at 4 am and thought about doing a sid-like post full of stealth and happy thoughts and maybe a BAH! or two.... so sorry about the car... it is what happens for living in Cali...I really wanted to go to UCLA and my mother wouldn't let as California is falling into the ocean. My sister escaped to the west coast and has car trouble (thefts, accidents etc) on a regular basis. So obviously that is the problem. Move to Kansas. Or better yet, South Dakota. ;) As for news- see my signature.

Alas and alack. I was foiled in my attempt to have an hour or two to DIS-n-chat. Quite a story actually.

So my friend whose house flooded is living with her sister (also my friend). The sister was in charge of all the children while her DH worked and the flood victims were working on their house. So she had 6 kids under her care (13, 7,6,5,5, 9 mo) and put them all (except the baby) in the backyard to play while she cooked corndogs and being a social creature invited me and my 4 kids over for dinner (my DH was also going to be home quite late). I said sure and headed over after gymnastics.

So after dinner the kids (13,13, 8, 6, 5,5,5,5,2) are out in the back yard (fenced) and we are inside with the little guy. When the 8 year old runs in screaming at the top of her lungs (she is a bit of a drama queen but her words got our attention)

Joy stepped on a nail!

Joy is 6 and the daughter of my friend A, who had invited me over. So I take the baby while she runs outside. Soon all the kids come in. I ask if A is ok and they say yes. But she doesn't come in and doesn't come in and meanwhile goldenchild is still outside barefoot. So I go out and Joy is hysterical, with goog reason because

there is a nail sticking out of her foot!:scared1: It has a huge head. So I take the two little boys inside, put the 13 yos in charge and instruct everyone to STAY IN. Then I grab a bag of ice, a chocolate chip cookie and a couple of towels. (Remember that I am the one who faints easily.)

I go out and we move Joy onto a towel. Use the other to wrap around her shoulders (she was wearing a bathing suit) and start distracting her with a chocolate chip cookie and tales of Disney (they are going for the first time next week). Meanwhile A is on the phone trying to get help with no avail. They don't have any health insurance so she didn't want to take her to the ER. Our medical tech friend wasn't answering the phone. My mom wasn't home. 911 will not give medical advice over the phone.

So we decide to pull the nail out (which is NOT what you should do for future reference- the correct answer is go to the ER which we found out too late) and Joy really goes ballistic. We calm her down and distract her and finally I am starting to get sick and A is starting to shake so I say "It is time!" and I hug her tight while she screams her head off and A pull the nail out. We ice it and apply pressure and give her another cookie. Then A carries her in and has her soak it in soapy water.

Meanwhile another child (not mine)is howling and crying because someone hurt her feelings. I think I actually told her to "dial down the drama" while we dealt with the actual emergency.

Then the other adults started to arrive. I left much later than planned and thus got my kids to bed late and as soon as I logged on A came by- she really just needed to get away. You know the more we thought about it the sicker we felt about what could have happened (which is why you go to the ER- if it had punctured a big vein we could have had dangerous bleeding). So she came over and offered to pack books to take her mind off it till bedtime. We worked for an hour and did 16 boxes! ( I have LOTs of books)

I am exhausted today. And making my kids wear shoes ALL summer.
yowsers!!!! i would have needed the ambulance for me not the nail girl :scared1: I have no pain tolerance and five kids how did that happen .oh yea the drugs!! isn't it funny when you are pg you get superpowers to overcome the things you could not do normally?

well gotta run and get lil princess from school .princess:

SYD! Buddy! Pal! look at that loot! Plus the veggie tales. Thanks so much!
Tammy was looking at the meep meet spreadsheet the other day and kept asking what sdy was.
heee.
I explained that you are our mysterious ninja and the two of you haven't really seen each other yet.
I think I'll email you this so you might actually get to see it.

Is SID coming to the meet? Why is she on the spreadsheet? I wish I had the spreadsheet. Can't you make me a mock spreedsheet in a non excel program? Pretty please!!

Also, didn't you say once that Ben sang with, or wrote for the Newsboys? I loved the newsboys. Well, I loved any boys really, especially if they had accents. ;) They had the best concerts.

WT - I'm anxiously awaiting your posting frenzy. It's been far too long now. I'm also waiting for a TR update. What's up with that? Also, I have a lawyer question for you. Do you know anything about pregnancy and insurance and if my DH's employer can change our policy on us(downgrading) in the middle of a pregnancy when I am unable to get any different insurance?

I am seriously freaking about this guys! If they don't keep the real policy then we have to drop the whole thing. We'll just get something ourselves, which of course I can't be covered for this pregnancy. So if we can't get medicaid(which of course we were already turned down for a few months ago, maybe the new baby will make a difference) then we are in a crapload of trouble. I'm looking into a birth center near(ish) us. They said they are 1/2 -1/3 less than a hospital birth. I sent an email asking for a ballpart figure, but I'm not holding my breath that they'll give me one. They want you to come for a tour and talk to them in person. :headache:

I've been snacking on frozen grapes. They are so goog.

Helllooooo Everyone

Twinkie - That is horrible about the nail, I hope the poor girl is ok. I once had a needle stuck the entire way through my hand when they were trying to numb it at the ER...still makes me sick to think about!

Hey WT...how are ya? :wave2:

MommyP - I really hope everything works out with your insurance. I  frozen grapes too! mmmmmmm :)

Uma - I like the Jazz too! I only watch the NBA when the playoffs start!

Hi Celery, Drebert & Spongie!!!!

Kelly, are you around? Haven't talked to you in while!

Dre-- You said you survived but did you have fun. Did you say OMG look at that person....what happened to them.

Spongie-- Nice to see you posting during the day.

Hi Besty :wave2:

Yes, this is our long weekend for Memorial Day. I hope it's nice too. Our weather was cold and yucky all weekend here too! You're in Canada, right? I've been to Toronto several times and also to Montreal (which I LOVED!!!) I can't wait to go back someday!

Yes I am from Canada. And close to Toronto....:lmao: Do I have an accent....

They said up north they got snow last weekend. But that is 8 hours away from me good thing.

So what are your plans for the long weekend?

We are having a picnic and attending another, what fun ;) Our picnic will be here on Sunday and then another at my DB's on Monday. Other than that, nothing much. Just chasing DD around as usual. I'm trying to get motivated right now to go clean our bedroom but haven't found the right motivation yet! Lucky you being close to Toronto, I have always enjoyed my time there. Do they still have Movenpick? (sorry if I hacked the spelling!)

Dre-- You said you survived but did you have fun. Did you say OMG look at that person....what happened to them.

:rolleyes1 (Many times.:lmao: )

Most everybody I kinda sorta recognized but there were a few I didn't. I was unrecognizable by many so what does that say? :confused3 ;)

I did have a blast. I got to hang out with some of my girlfriends and we went to the mall and had pizza. Good times.

You know the coolest thing though. I spent the weekend at my brother's house. I have a 12 yr old nephew that has aspbergers syndrome. For the first time he and I really connected and had a fantabulous time together. I think that's my favorite memory of the weekend. :cloud9:

I told him some funny stories about my youngest son and he laughed all weekend. He's quite the jokester.

Roger that. Wondered if you were a fugitive. How is the Gateway? Wish you would play dead as you certainly are a sunbeam.

Sunbeam? Do you know how many times in my life I have been called a sunbeam. Hmm. Let me count. Uhh, well. NEVER. I have been told that people wish I was dead though.

Wheat Thins

You guys know those thingies that really lucky people get to have? I think you'd call them a "NAP" or something like that? I GOT ONE! Well it was a quickie-nap, but it was wonderful! I'd even call it a "power nap". I'm all kinds of rested and feel like my old self again.

I wish I could afford to have more of them! :cloud9:

Nab- you DO have an accent, eh. :lmao:

Betsy(Wetsy)- just had a pic-a-nic on sunday! Played flag football. Sucked at it. Ate lots of food...GOOD at it!

Twinkie- So? Have you found out how nail-girl is feeling? Is her mama OK?

Hi Dre! Hi Sunbeam! Hi Moo! Hi Celery!!!!!!

Celery- how's the plans comin' along?

Sorry folks! Nail girl and her mama are fine. She went to school anyways.

Dre- I love hearing about other folks reunions since I have missed ALL of mine. It is a shame really because I went to a boarding school (perhaps for the criminially insane ;) )and would LOVE to see what folks are up too.... lots of bright people (almost like sunbeams), lots of interesting life paths... from the school website I am pretty sure the only category I am winning is "Evolutionary fitness" aka "Baby making".... I did go to DH's small town HS reunion... it was classic.. with all the cheerleaders being chunky casserole wielding mamas with 2-3 "above average" children... some dangerously close in age to the reunion year;) and the girl who was the shy tall loner had a great career in a big city and was a knock out!

Lil Twinkerbell has an upset tummy today. I am on my 5th load of laundry......

Spongie-- Nice to see you posting during the day.
okay so you have found out my secret i am a vampire and only post at night.;) j'k since my kids are almost outta of school my life has slowed down a bit well today and tommorow then it speeds up again.. my DD has her field trip and dance pictures thurs and her kindergarten grad on fri .i am sad she is growing up way to flippn fast. anywho my kiddos want to watch one of my favorite movies so i am gonna join them .The prince of Egypt got at wal-mart for only $7.50 what a deal.
