Long Lost Moover checkin' in! :flower3::wave: My name is Allie, in case you have forgotten......:rolleyes1

School starts back tomorrow morning bright and early! :scared1:

DD said to get her up at 6:00 so that she can be ready for her 6:45 bus. :faint: I've enjoyed sleeping in this summer. Oh and DS will be riding the bus again this year, even though he has a license, he doesn't have a car, and won't until he gets a job to help pay for it. So, I will have to come back in the house tomorrow to make sure he gets out there 'cause I sure don't want to have to drive to the high school on the first day of school. :sad2:

Peej - When do you start back??? I don't start until after Labor day. That's why we are a MMO (Mother's Morning Out) instead of a real day care. :thumbsup2

MommyP - Glad you got a date night before the baby comes! :thumbsup2 Sorry the movie wasn't worth the sitting. I sat through Titanic while pregnant with DD. Even being a good movie, it was hard to sit for that long.

CEL and CelMama - We were in yur nek of the woods las' week. Went to Opryland for a couple of nights for a last minute getaway. DSIL works there and we got a lovely rate, and they were only at 17% occupancy, so it was like we had the place to ourselves. :cloud9: Went shopping at Opry Mills, ate at Spaghetti Factory, did the Science Museum, and fun was had by all. :goodvibes

Marita - Looks like a nice place for your mama. Funny how I was trying to read the website.......considering I know NO German. :rotfl:

BBN - How are you surviving having a teenage driver in the house? It still gives me the "willies" in my tummy every time he goes anywhere. Oh, and I jump any time the phone rings while he is out. I'm always afraid he is calling to say "there has been an accident". :sad2: I hope I get better with this. :guilty:

Moo...sorry to hear about your bff. That sounds rough. I hope it all works out for her.
I too am hoping that my students are little angels instead of little thugs. We were discussing that this morning...the power of positive thinking!!

WT...pssssh you really think I'm that easy to get rid of? Think again! Just ask the bbn if you don't believe me. She's tried to get rid of me time and time again.

Allie...hello!! That sounds like a very nice last second trip! Blech on getting up at 6am. That's no good. I go back tomorrow but I don't get kids until Thursday. Consider me sitting in boring meetings until then. Little did you know, but your child's lunch schedule takes 4 hours for a room of 30 teachers to come up with. You know, fun things like that.

Marita...that is such wonderful news about your mom!! I'm so glad she's doing better! YAY!

Celmama, Pumba, MommyP, etc.....:wave2:

How is/was everyone's Sunday?

Hey all. Ive been reading, but haven't been talking much.

I started a cake decorating class at JoAnn's this week - I have to have a cake for Saturday morning, so I went ahead and made it tonight - and I can freeze it. While I was cooking, I decided to make a few more.
ha.

yum.......I love cake......

Well my friends........this 61 year old pig tried out my friends bike this evening......she is way taller then me......I got on the bike and started the bike moving.....went across the street and forgot the brakes were in the handle bar area....so I finally stopped it and I was sitting on the seat and decided it was way better to put my foot down then jump off and maybe hurt my crotch....so I did and instead fell on my knee......I look like an OLD KID....skunned up knees and blood and I am to old for this ...
Maybe I should get a bike like the one my hubby got me for my 40th birthday......a bmx huffy 20 inch red boys bike.......that was easy to use.........big sigh ......better get a gauze on this knee so I can sleep with the sheets not touching it.....

have a great day everyone

Peej - Of course I know it is still there.....it helped keep me cool during the HOT summer! :rolleyes1 Plus in a few months, it will be time for it to be there again, so why take it off, just to put it back. :upsidedow

Party at CEL's.....she has cake!! :cake:

Cel, it's more fun to be a poster than a lurker. Miss you!

Cake decorating sounds like fun, but I have 2 left hands when it comes to that stuff.

HOWEVER, a few years ago, I sent away for a trial copy of Food & WIne annual cookbook, and try as I might, I cant get rid of it (the subsciption that is, it keeps on coming)
. So today I opened the latest copy and saw some interesting starter recipes with goat cheese and various other stuff that sounds yummy. Maybe one of these years when I'm retired I will try it, LOL

I think talking to my mom today solidified it for me, I want to move to a retirement community when I finally retire, I would grow totally bored and stale staying at home. The Villages, here I come! Or maybe Vista Del Largo with Nebo and Smidgy, LOL!

Pumba, OUCH! Glad you were not hurt more.

Allie, missed you, WB! And you never really stop worrying about kids driving, but it does get much better (provided they actually are good drivers, that is!)

When is the party at Cels?

Celery - My sister took a class at JoAnns for cake decorating. Now she is a self proclaimed professional. Sucks because now at my shower I'll get a cake made by her instead of a church bought Publix cake. Publix cakes are the only kind I like, I won't even eat hers. Her frosting is NASTY.

Pumba - Sorry you got hurt! Get a three wheel bike. Those are super fun to ride and have comfy seats. :o)

1. Brian Urlacher would be head of security.

2. What a true friend you are. Anything, including your location, to help out a BBN. This, my friends, is one of the most moving displays of friendship I have ever experienced.

Wheat Thins

1. Good thinking. A big man carrying toll house cookies is sure to keep the patrons in line.
2. Exactly. I will do anything except for actually meet her, loan her money, help her move, babysit her kids or donate an organ.

Sung by Twinkee to BBN:

You've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me.
When the hours are hard to find,
And I'm miles and miles from my nice warm bed.
You just remember what your old Twinkee said.
BBN, you've got a friend in me.
I'll do what it takes, you've got a friend in me.

You've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me.
If you've got bills to pay, and I got 'em too.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you.
If I am willing to procreate we can see it through,
Cause you got a friend in me.
Yeah, you got a friend in me.

Wheat Thins is a little bit older than I am.
Bigger and stronger too.
Maybe, but he will never love you the way I do,
It's me and you, BBN.

And as the years go by,
I've got enough children to fill an orphanage.
You gonna see you've had plenty of hours.
You got a friend in me.
I'll do what it takes.
Yeah, you got a friend in me.

Wheat Thins

Awww. So funny. So true. Thanks Wheat Thins. You know I would change my location for you too. In fact I think I will now.
I love you Twinkeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well Babynurse, you, and now the rest of the disboards, know how I feel about you.
yum.......I love cake......

Me too. I hope you feel better soon. :cutie:

PJ- Thanks for the name suggestion. I love it. I may add another apostrophe just to be yun'Iqu'e.

MP-I am laughing WITH you. That baby isn't even due yet. Of course I feel the same way .... 36 weeks seems plenty.

Pumba, she wouldn't be happy here. She doesn't speak English that well, and only me here.
I just talked to her for the first time in weeks, since her fall. I can't believe what a difference!!!!!! She was upbeat, in a great mood, loves it there, has friends, her voice was clear and strong, it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:
:goodvibes
What a wonderful post!! :goodvibes Good for your mom!!

Peej - Of course I know it is still there.....it helped keep me cool during the HOT summer! :rolleyes1 Plus in a few months, it will be time for it to be there again, so why take it off, just to put it back. :upsidedow

Party at CEL's.....she has cake!! :cake:

:rotfl2: Cel has cake!! Its a little cold, but its CAKE!! Love those classes at JoAnn's!

MommyP Hope you are feeling better and have delivered your precious child!

Pumba OUCH! Try a recumbant bike- you're closer to the ground! (I'm going to try one today at the Y - bonus, it wont move out of the exercise room!! LOL)

Moo sad to hear about your friend!

I just posted a HUGE TMI post on the movie Julie and Julia!! :rotfl2:

Marita 5 hours includes the cooking time!! ;) I didnt think it would make that much difference to use paper towels to dry off the meat before throwing it in the skillet - it DID!!

I hate most people's frosting. I make my own on Wednesday. We'll see how it goes.
I used wilton's pre made frosting this weekend and added butter, vanilla and almond flavoring - I got lots of compliments on it last night.

I also used pudding as a filling for the first time.
It tasted great, but the cake leaned a little.

I've made yellow cakes so far because those are my favorite, but one of the guys in my class requested chocolate, so that will be next.

MommyP Hope you are feeling better and have delivered your precious child!

Nope not even close. lol. I had lots of contractions last night again and today, but no labor yet.

My little sister started having some bleeding last night, so hopefully she'll be having her baby in the next day or so. :yay:

Celery - My sister makes hers with CRISCO:sick: and butter flavoring. ICK ICK ICK. It's HORRIBLE! I can't even bear the thought of eating straight crisco. Crisco with butter flavor is NOT a buttercream frosting.:thumbsup2

HI GUYS! guess what? I have real internet now- not just at school. FINALLY!

Plus I'm temporarily between classes. Got an A in Philosophy. I actually liked that class. Next up is the dreaded Anatomy class. UGHHHH. That and Chemistry are the two classes I've been freaking over. But...so far I'm doing goodly. Knock on wood.

Twinkie???? where for art thou? I miss you!

Celery- I haaaaate store bought cakes/ canned frosting / most people's homemade frosting too.

Sandy- HI!!!! I miss you!

BbN- I have clinicals at a nursing home this weekend. Sigh. Too late to back out of my career choice! LOL.

MommyP, Moo, Marita, WT, Pumba, PJ, Ally, etc. (ugh, I hope I didnt forget anyone and now they are "etc"!!!!) Miss Yous!!!!!

Miss Norah is turning 5 on the 26th and wants a Littlest Pet Shop party. Any pet-ish ideas Moovers? I thought it'd be "fun" to have a cheap goldfish in a bowl to give as a party favor. Hmmm. We're having a few boys over for her party and I didnt think they'd appreciate our usual Princesses or Tinker Bell theme.

She wants a BARBIE (as in NOT Disney Princesses) bike with training wheels for her birthday. I tried and TRIED to brainwash her into the Princesses but she wouldnt cave. BAH!

They MAKE us use that kind for the class. I think I'm making one batch just to get the hang of it then moving to butter!

wendy - I think the goldfish idea is good. just have extras in case of casualties!!!!

and they have mickey mouse tetras!
they have a "hidden" mickey on them.

UMA-- yay on the internet! I am an "etc" but that is ok. That is what happens when you do shout out, can't remember everyone either. What are you studying to become? A nurse?

Mommy P-- was hoping you would have that baby before I went on holidays, which is Friday. Here's hoping we have wifi at some of the campsites again.

I am worried we won't have tv because you guys have gone digital and we don't until Feb. Trailer has an antena.

My mom is now here and we have been out shopping and showing her around town. She hasn't been here in along time things have changed alot. Nicholas ball game was cancelled last night do to heavy rain and storms for the last two days. But she does get to see him play on Thursday night if it doesn't rain. Keep you fingers crossed the rain has stopped for awhile.

Marita-- I did read back and saw the place your mom is in. Loved the link was in German.

Moo-- sorry to hear about your friend. I will remember her in my prayers.

Twinkie-- when are you due?

P.J. -- hope all your new kids are angels.

Babynurse--:wave2:

Celery-- my icing is simple, butter, icing sugar warm water, Cocoa if it is chocolate.

and NAB!!!!!(sorry Nab!)

See, the feeder goldfish are 10 for a dollar. I love the mickey tetras though and kill them often. (what's the fish equivilant (sp) to non-green thumb?) I'm just afraid of them all dying the next day and having an angry mob scene. Meh....I'll tell them they are only going to live one day then they'll all be amazed when they live longer...:3dglasses

My frosting actually has a teeny bit of coffee in it. It makes it richer and most delicious. I could eat it by the spoonful. Could. :littleangel:

Wendy, w00t on having real internet back! Hope you will stop by lots.

Personally, I think other mother will be hating on you of you send their kids home with a fish! I wouldn't like it for sure.

Speaking of odd names, saw this in a yahoo article about interviewer tricks:
http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/career-articles-hiring_tricks_that_job_seekers_must_know-938

Waffles Natush. WTH? Waffles? Is that a male or female? I'm thinking male, not sure why, LOL. A guess a female can waffle as good as a guy :confused3

On topic of frosting, I have not much to say (not a cake lover, more of a pie lover), but some GOOD buttercream frosting can change me make my mind on occasion.

We finally had a new director announced today, a guy I dont know, pretty young. So far all I heard that he has a lot of varied experience and is very good at managing his bosses, LOL. BB said that she was enforicing the thumper rule. Not likely to change my life a whole lot, but you never know.

I was taking a little break . . .

Thanks for the positive thoughts for my friend. I'm going with her to a doctor appointment tomorrow because I think it will help her to have another person listening. After that, another friend is going to have a little get together tomorrow evening so she can spend a little time with some of her other friends for a belated birthday celebration.

WT and Twink - Just have to "say" thanks for the laughs! :rotfl2:

Nabbie - Glad you're back and hope you're having fun spending time with your mom!

Cel - Buttercream rocks! Crisco frosting = bleah. Hope things are going well.

Pumba - Ouch!!! I'll second the recumbent bike comment!

Sandy - Where'd you post about Julia & Julie? I really enjoyed that movie.

Wendy! I think the other parents would prefer inanimate pets  You're going to do great in Anatomy and Chemistry!

Hi, Allie! :dance3:

bbn - Do I detect that you're sad that you haven't met Twink IRL? Or have you?

MommyP - Come on, BabyPoppins! :cutie:

Marita - Retirement is sounding awfully good to me lately too!
