Thanks for the explanation, Marita. And thanks for the info on the new attraction..looks pretty cool!

YW. That smiley in your post made me think of looking for peanut butter eggs in my grocery journey.

Shout out to BBN, whereever she is hiding!

I haven't talked to Elisabeth in a few days, but my guess is that she's holed up in a corner, scarfing down Reese's PB eggs on the sly.

Where is everyone else? :confused3

Coloring easter eggs? :confused3

Ok, I'm off to my grocery expedition (including trashy novel hunt for trip to Germany), to be followed by a nice pedicure :)

Another sidenote: I protested the raising of tolls by 25C (I took 6 tolls a day), and went around. Not taking much longer at all. And saving $3.50 a day! Except when I spaz out and my car takes me the usual route without thinking....... Skipping 2 at 1.75 combined, cant avoid the other one though.

OK I better move before I lose my energy :scared:

thanks for the new attraction in DTD marita........that looks awesome (even if I am afraid of heights.) We have an annual balloon festival in our town each August and some of the balloons are huge and takes up a whole football field....almost 40 balloons up in the air at the same time.......will think about doing this ......I think hubby would like to do it.....

I guess I will get off this machine and make the chocolate cream pie before I end up watching the tube......My Dil is bringing the birthday cake for our little princess's 3rd birthday.....she is so darn cute.....

Have a good day everyone

I'm just chillaxing at home with my daughter today. She's going out with friends tonight, so I guess I'll (finally) get my shower and figure out if I'm doing anything today.

Lynette - Sounds like you're in for a yummy holiday weekend! :) I won't be baking any treats for a while. But I did buy a turkey breast to roast for dinner tomorrow.

Marita - Good luck with your shopping and all!

Big L - No nickname for this guy yet. Hmmm. His name is Jason. My friend Bridget usually nicknames all of the guys I see - I'll have to ask her what she's feeling for him.

we're decorating eggs later (we being me, him and his daughter).
we went shopping earlier and made crafts (glitter, sparkly pompoms, confetti, glue and construction paper) and colored tattoos!
he's a lot of fun. and so's addie (the daughter)

I'm going to try and remember to ask him to DVR ellen for me so I can have a peej spotting!

Cel, we CAN'T call him by his name! That's just silly. ;) Tell Bridget she has to come up with a new moniker for him ASAP.

I set my DVR to tape Ellen on Monday too.

Moo, has your appetite kicked in again yet?

 SOooo busy! and I got a cold in my chest (stay away!!) I sound terrible - and I've been exhausted!!

Had our Seder Dinner last night! :goodvibes DS Jewish gf gave it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2!! :yay: I got Kosher right!! (even had Kosher Coke - but she doesnt drink pop - she's really really healthy too! No TV growing up... or now... well ds and I corrupt her!) We had tsimme beef (think sweet pot roast) It turned out better than I expected!! Hard to cook veggies with no butter!! Did rice instead of potatoes, I guess some Jewish laws say no grains!! (I have so much to learn, can I just say I'm glad Jesus came to release me of the laws I cant seem to keep!!) :goodvibes

DS#1 and DIL were not going to come for Easter - fine I say... then later it dawned on me!! :yay: 2 Easter Baskets I dont have to fill - but I called to make sure!! *duh  DS decided they will DEFINATELY be here for Easter!! :rotfl: DIL called and said they had from 10 - 12 free... um... well gee, how about breakfast? I'll make 2 of those casseroles - French Toast and Crab!! (do them the night before, bake and eat!)

WHERE did all the JELLY beans go?? Is it just me?? Just here?? We went to 3 grocery stores, Wal Mart, Target, Sam's Club AND 2 dollar stores - NO JELLY BEANS!

Got a ham, baked beans, potatoes, aspargus, and a cake for tomorrow's dinner!

Wow, lots going on here!

Hope I can remember everything...

Let's see... Hugs needed for the SIL and Wendy. I am forgetting someone??

Hope that everyone has a blessed Easter, if you are so inclined.

I am sick. Oh joy. It will still be a blessed Easter!

Hi all,

Sorry for being sick, Sandy and Steph.

Cel, we can't call him Jason for sure, that is knitfreaks guys name:laughing:

Pumba, the balloon is tethered to the ground, have no fear, try it!

Moo, enjoy your evening.

I'm back from grocery shopping and pedicure. Spent $100 on "essentials", which included not one but 2 bags of peanut butter eggs and 3 slices of beef tenderloin to make steak Diane with, probably on Monday. I have chicken breast cooked for chicken a la king tonight, and am planning on preparing pork for tomorrows "Heart attack on a plate"

Since I just wolfed down 6 peanut butter eggs, I'm not so much in the mood for cooking

Cel - That sounds like a fun day! I agree that we need a nickname if this guy's a keeper! ;)

Lynette - Dang, girl . . . you leapt way ahead of me with that last word!!!

I have an appetite, but just can't eat very much at a time. Still no gnawing, empty feeling in my smaller tummy though, but that's one of the benefits. So I have to kind of eat on a schedule even though I'm not really feeling hungry.

I'm extremely happy with my soup choice from the Chinese place. I pureed that and had some last night, some for lunch today, and I just finished it off a while ago. It was about a quart of soup with chicken and shrimp in a chicken broth, with carrot, broccoli, celery and/or Chinese cabbage, and ginger. It was supposed to have pork in it too, but I asked them to leave that out because I can't have that at this stage. Very yummy. I'll be getting it again.

I'll see how I do with the turkey tomorrow. I'll have to finely chop that too

Sandy and Steph - Feel better soon! Yay for your Seder dinner success, Sandy! I found some Jelly Bellies jelly beans for DD, but didn't really look for the other kind since I think those taste so much better.

Sounds like everyone's Easter dinner preparations are coming along well!!! My sister will be coming over tomorrow. That'll give her a chance to visit with Mari, since she won't be home again until July.

Oh my aching back!!! The lower left is killing me... I made chicken fricassee for dinner tonight (still haven't eaten any, living off peanut butter eggs so far ;)). Cut up salt pork and grated Gouda cheese for tomorrows dinner, breaded and fried the pork cutlets. All I have to do tomorrow is brown the onions (pre-diced- I was lazy), the salt pork, add mushrooms, sweet cream and sour cream, add over pork cutlets, cover with cheese and pop in the oven for 45 minutes. It's yummy!!!!!!!!!! Serve with fresh french bread.

Moo, glad you enjoyed your soup, sounds like you are doing great!

I've had the then commandments running on tv. Can't really say I watched it though. I waiting for the parting of the sea now that I can finally sit down.

I miss the days of coloring easter eggs with the kids and getting up early to watch the kids hunt in back yard, sob

Happy Easter Friends!!
Eggs dyed. Baskets assembled. Bunny has visited. Clothes pressed and laid out. Directions to O'Dawn Thirty Sunrise service googled.

I also miss the days of buying new dresses, hats and little patent leather shoes. my mil usually made the girls dresses and one easter I made ds a john boy suit. with a cross stiched Bunny. We would go to my Grandmother's ,eat a big meal and then hunt eggs. My grandmother lived to be 95 so the girls remember going there. Last yr.when I passed by my grandmother's old house I bawled all the way home. Sorry about the long post.

God Bless all of you :flower1:

Aww, mamacel, HUGS

Happy Easter to you and all our Moover friends!

HAPPY EASTER!

oh mom! Don't cry!

her church is right beside my great grandparents old house. I didn't realize it upset her. It probably is hard on Christmas too - every year, after Santa came, we went to Grandmother Church's (we always called her by her last name. I guess it showed more respect than Willie Mae. :lmao:) for lunch. I loved going for Easter - but I didn't like leaving my toys for Christmas!

Good job, sandy! I love seder dinner! it's so fun.
(and if the cook is good - yummy!)
I love (spelling is beyond me) gefelte? fish!

and the purple horseradish!
and the apples for the mortar
(did y'all do all that?)

I need to get back to a church! I feel weird not being at church today.

My kung pao chicken was a big hit last night.
It took me two hours! But I had fun.
Addie wouldn't try it, but she ate half a jar of cashews! :rotfl:
eggs are dyed and stickered up!

I'm going over there later to hide them. maybe.

I was going to put mine in the edit line like Twinks, but it's too long.
You came from heaven to earth, to show the way. From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay. From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky, Lord I lift your name on high!

Happy Easter my wonderful friends!

If you pm me your address I will make some pierogies for you and freeze them and mail them to you with directions on how to prepare/serve them. Its the only way for me to explain them to you.

Plus MINE are the bomb!

Easter morning was another big hit. We dont dye or do eggs cause of Matts allergies, then the candy is scarce because of his allergies, so they all get one nice big gift.

We are having steaks and ribs on the grill and of course, pierogies.

man, mony - that sounds awesome, but that'll be too expensive for you to ship food all over the country!
and won't they thaw in the mail?

HAPPY EASTER ONE AND ALL!!

CelMama :grouphug: Easter does bring back the memories - one year 30 years ago we went to Texas to visit my grandma's side of the family - I remember every bit of it, from peeling the eggs (horribly! lol) to the candy in the Easter basket (jaw breakers, we didnt have jaw breakers up here!) Memories are the best love!

we switched back and forth from the 10 Commandments to "THE HILLS ARE ALIVE... with the Sound of Music..." (then we found out Sound of Music will be rurun on the Family Channel tonight!! LOL - right now its Mary Poppins!)

Have you ever made Coq au vin? I'm seriously considering it!!

I had that sad moment :sad1:DD is 12... when oldest DS was 12, dd was a baby, and we made a bigger fuss...

Of course, now I sit here, typing... DS and DIL said they'd come over for brunch at 10 - 12... its 11:30, they're not here... the food is cooked - French Toast Casserole, Crab and Egg Casserole, Real Maple Syrup, Baked Bacon (never going to fry bacon again!) Mimosas at the ready, fresh loose leaf tea - TWO kinds, Grand Floridian style... Deviled eggs... table is set with my best china, and gold flatware... waiting.... waiting...

and dag nabit I have to bake a ham, and make baked beans, etc for dinner - and no one will be here for that neither... :sad2:

man, mony - that sounds awesome, but that'll be too expensive for you to ship food all over the country!
and won't they thaw in the mail?

No gelfite fish (I thought maybe I should have it for dgf) but definately the choraset (apples, chopped small with cinnamon, and powdered pecan for mortar) No purple horseradish - I bought a fresh stalk of horseradish, peeled and grated it tho - super uper spicey/bitter!! Each person had a bowl of tears to dip the parsley in!!

Have you see Rachel Rays recipe for Take Out Cashew Chicken? Its a 30 min meal, and quite yummy! We actually broke down and bought a rice cooker - awesome invention!!

Moo buy a box of the Matzoh Ball Soup for when you go to solids, its an easy mix to make - clear broth with one little matzoh - yum!!

Mony OMG - hey, I'm heading up to Michigan, maybe you can deliver them to Tecumseh for me!! I've always wanted to try perogis - I do love Chinese restaurants Fried Dumplings- Pot Stickers!! It probably would only take 2 days to get them here from there anyway!! ;)

Hope everyone is having a beutiful, Blessed Sunday!
