Prayers and Pixie Dust for Wendy

Hope all turns out ok.
Well, we had our big announcements today. As expected, one of the girls is leaving. Asst #2 is moving to Coronado. Also one of the associates from the sister resort is moving to a new global role. Our Internal Control associate is moving up to be a Finance Associate role at Fort Wilderness, good move for him. The boss is adding Pop/Carribean to his current region. Luckily they have the same GM and some of the same leaders, so not as bad as adding 2 entirely seperate resorts.
Now for yours truly:
The Manager of the global resorts team (meaning consolidating all resorts) came over this morning to talk to the people that are moving, since my boss was off today. So she talked to Asst #2 and the other guy, comes back in the office and says to me "Do you have a minute?"
Oh great, that means I am moving! So she says they is really excited to add me to the global team.

Talk about a nightmare come true! I am moving to the Ivory Tower. Consolidating 13 resorts plus 3 in
Disneyland, the processes for monthly forecasts, Annual Budgets, 5 year plan, Special projects, etc. Involving sometimes long hours IN THE OFFICE!! And asking people for information, answering requests from all over the company.
And near the guy that mandated the 8 hours in the office rule.
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!
On top of that, I replace
TWO people that were working there!
She said again how excited she was to have me there, and hopes I was excited too. Yeah, sure, uhu

She talked about automating processes, and how having the right people in place makes a difference in the hours you work (in the office at least). I expressed my preferences. Anyway, it may work out ok. Not that I have any choice.
On the positive side, I get to see the BIG picture, and probably be privy to more information.
Plus I won't have to deal with DVC anymore, YAAHOO! And other stuff. But no operators or walking the hotel either. On the other hand, I am right in MGM (well, the outskirts).
On the positive side, I like this lady very much. I have known here for almost 20 years.. Laid back and funny. No kids, married, loves bunnies, mid to late 40's. I think I'll call her Bunny Boss (BB for short).
There were a ton of moves all over the place, lots of people moving. The director wants us in our new jobs by Thursday and doing Forecast 2 weeks from now in our new roles. There has to be a lot of transferring of knowlege to happen between now and then, and as soon as forecast is over, I am leaving for Germany for 2 weeks. My first new forecast in my new consolidation role is sure to be a disaster, with neither me nor a lot of other people knowing what they are doing or what is going on in their new roles.
I have a ton of stuff to move too. It will be interesting.........
