Nab - Sorry to hear about your SIL. How sad.

Marita - I hope none of the changes effect you.

Peej - You are very brave and sweet to want to stay with your thugs. Stinks your sister's hours got cut. If the parks are full, restaurants are full and resorts are full the characters shouldn't be cut back. Can you imagine how long those lines are going to be now? I hope you can get your summer job. :thumbsup2

- What in the world happened to Wendy's FB that she had to make a new one? Tell her I said Hi and I hope she's doing okay.

What was the facebook snafu? I have no clue. But thanks for making sure we get reconnected.

All of her imaginary friends and some RL friends were deleted. I think I found the real her and sent friend suggestions for us all.

well between yesterday and today....i'm a day older. who's

making up these silly rules?!
Albert Einstien?

Well we had a very quick and hurried converstation with interruptions on both sides as we were both on our way to school so I am not sure of the order of events. But at some point (I think before she was in the hospital?) someone used her account without her permission and did all sorts of stuff. She felt it was best/easiest to just get a new account.

I will pass on your thoughts. Or I'll just have Goldenchild call you at 10 pm. ;)

Nab: Prayers are being sent!

Someone asked: I make pierogies like this for Easter, my nephews birthday parites, cause i like them, and I send them to others. Homemade ones are hard to find. I don't like the store bought ones. I have fun with my mom making them.

You all need to be praying for Wendy. Please! Pray for strength, healing, and courage for her.

Prayers and Pixie Dust for Wendy  Hope all turns out ok.

Well, we had our big announcements today. As expected, one of the girls is leaving. Asst #2 is moving to Coronado. Also one of the associates from the sister resort is moving to a new global role. Our Internal Control associate is moving up to be a Finance Associate role at Fort Wilderness, good move for him. The boss is adding Pop/Carribean to his current region. Luckily they have the same GM and some of the same leaders, so not as bad as adding 2 entirely seperate resorts.

Now for yours truly:
The Manager of the global resorts team (meaning consolidating all resorts) came over this morning to talk to the people that are moving, since my boss was off today. So she talked to Asst #2 and the other guy, comes back in the office and says to me "Do you have a minute?"

Oh great, that means I am moving! So she says they is really excited to add me to the global team.

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Talk about a nightmare come true! I am moving to the Ivory Tower. Consolidating 13 resorts plus 3 in Disneyland, the processes for monthly forecasts, Annual Budgets, 5 year plan, Special projects, etc. Involving sometimes long hours IN THE OFFICE!! And asking people for information, answering requests from all over the company.
And near the guy that mandated the 8 hours in the office rule.

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

On top of that, I replace TWO people that were working there!:scared:

She said again how excited she was to have me there, and hopes I was excited too. Yeah, sure, uhu :sad2: She talked about automating processes, and how having the right people in place makes a difference in the hours you work (in the office at least). I expressed my preferences. Anyway, it may work out ok. Not that I have any choice.

On the positive side, I get to see the BIG picture, and probably be privy to more information.
Plus I won't have to deal with DVC anymore, YAAHOO! And other stuff. But no operators or walking the hotel either. On the other hand, I am right in MGM (well, the outskirts).

On the positive side, I like this lady very much. I have known here for almost 20 years.. Laid back and funny. No kids, married, loves bunnies, mid to late 40's. I think I'll call her Bunny Boss (BB for short).

There were a ton of moves all over the place, lots of people moving. The director wants us in our new jobs by Thursday and doing Forecast 2 weeks from now in our new roles. There has to be a lot of transferring of knowlege to happen between now and then, and as soon as forecast is over, I am leaving for Germany for 2 weeks. My first new forecast in my new consolidation role is sure to be a disaster, with neither me nor a lot of other people knowing what they are doing or what is going on in their new roles.

I have a ton of stuff to move too. It will be interesting.........

I did want to know! And Congrats on the promotion!!!!!1

Ack, Marita! Well, I guess one consolation is no more DVC :) It sounds to me like they need your expertise and maybe your new boss will be nice, so those are pluses. I hope at least that your parking is relatively close. Sorry you won't be working with your assistants any more

Continuing to send prayers for Wendy :grouphug: Miss you!

My friend who I was visiting last night was feeling somewhat better today, so I was relieved about that.

It's great having Mari home! We had Chinese food for dinner and are having movie night at home . . . Bolt! I ran my soup though the blender and it was delish! There were yummy hunks of chicken and shrimp in it. I haven't had any meat except what was in my cream of chicken for three weeks.

Moo, i'll be parking in parking garage. A long as I can get a space close to the elevator, it will be good. It's kind of weird, I always mostlly loved working with operators before, but at my current property, once the switched from the first GM, it was just never the same. I was dropped to invisible status. So the heck with them.
So we shall see how it goes.

After the meeting today (and some work), Knitfreak, Asst #2 and I decided to hit Beaches and Cream for some ice cream. You know, after a big shakeup like that, no real work is going to get done.
So we talked about changes, what to cover, who has to learn what, etc (ice cream on our own dime)

Asst #2 gathered a bunch of boxes already for the moves. She is wasted where she is going, to a place with no F&B operation, and she has a wealth of knowledge in that field. But whatevah.. Gotta go with it for now.

Sorry to be so verbose today, but its a big change for a lot of us.

Nab hope your sil gets better. Is she the grandmother of the baby you are to see at Easter?

Wendy get better soon.

Happy Easter to all the mooo's.

Happy Easter weekend to everyone!

Mony, your pierogies sound delish. What else are you making? Any recipes you'd care to share? I'm always looking to expand my repertoire. ;)

Moo, glad you and Mari are getting some quality time together this weekend.

Marita, sounds like you've found plenty of positives in your new job assignment. Congrats! What's the latest word on your mom?

Peej, so you're going to stay in LooUhVuhl next year? Watch out! I think you might just be growing roots there! ;)

Twink, thanks for the 411 on Wendy. Hope she's doing well now.

Prayers for Wendy, NAB's SIL and Hollywood's job situation.

I took an impromptu day off today and managed to fit in a manicure, a trip to the grocery store, the WalMarts and Kohl's. Would you believe that I finally found an Easter dress for Natasha? I have been on the hunt since the beginning of March, but (as Twink and I have discussed several times before) dresses for little girls larger than 5T are all geared toward tweens who are looking for nightclub attire. Or so it seems. :confused3 Not sure who would let their daughter go to Easter Mass in rayon Pucci-inspired hoochie mama couture, but that's what seems to be widely available. :scared:

MTK, LilG, MommyP and all the rest of y'all: ! (Where is BBN, anyway?)

Wishing safe travels for those who'll be away from home this weekend! I'm going to be home, enjoying my family and counting my blessings.

Can I just ditto all that? Is that allowed?

Except....what's a pierogie? If it's a doughnut...count me in.

Lynette....I copy ya on the hoochie mama attire. That was always a problem for me too. Even back in the day when my girls were little. Why, why, why.

As for me....counting my blessings too.

:grouphug:

Sending hugs and Pixie dust to all my Moover friends, posting or missing.
Love you all! :grouphug:

Marita - What in the heck is the Ivory Tower? I hope you end up liking the new job and it's good to work with BB. ;)

Luther - They are NOT doughnuts. But thanks for mentioning doughnuts.
Perogie2.jpg
I've never had one because I figure if my first is the frozen grocery store kind it may ruin it for me if I ever know someone who makes them from scratch. :)

Lynette - I remember Easter dress shopping when I was little. It was so fun to get a new Easter dress every year, I wish I could do that tradition with someone.

Moo - Glad Mari is home and you got to taste some chicken and shrimp!

Well I thought I'd be able to squeeze ina quick cup of coffee before Isaac demanding to be gotten up and changed, but he's not hearing of it. :headache:

Morning all my friends.

Hubby got up early.....(he and the dog) and made the coffee and bacon and eggs..All I did was yawn once and he said to the dog.......oh gramma is awake lets make the rest of the breakfast...so that is the good things about Saturdays or Sundays......but I could of slept in .......but I appreciate the breakfast....

Marita.....sounds like you will be very busy the next few weeks and then going to your mamas....It is hard on us when we see our parents in nursing homes .....broke my heart too when mama went....she was 91 and so independent...it went so fast with her being very needy from the staff and us.......sad......

Last night we went to Walmart and got some sunscreen FINALLY.....you would think we dont need it in the winters here.....People should use sunscreen and sunglasses when they are out skiing or snowboarding......the sun reflects off the snow and can do harm to our eyes and skin........so my friends take care ..

all my food is ready to either make or cook........alot of work but I love to have the family here together......

I am going to move SPIKE (aka the beta) to my neighbors the day before we leave so they can make sure the fish has food each day....poor thing will miss me for sure....and Megara goes to the puppy prison.....aka the fat farm aka puppy playschool.......poor baby will miss us........

Hope you all have a safe and blessed Easter ......

Hey all!

Sorry I've been missing so much lately. Work has been super busy. I really like the new guy I'm seeing.

I talked to breadman last night - Hayden, his daughter, made it into the Hannah Montana movie! He took her to see it yesterday. He couldn't see her because it was a 10 second scene with 20 girls in it, but she saw herself so she's on top of the world.
I know a movie star! ;)

moo - did you like bolt? I thought it was very cute.

prayers said for windy lou, nab's SIL and hollywood.
we need prayers around here.
A tornado went through and did a lot of damage.
at least 2 people were killed (a 9 week old and its mom) :( :( :(
I'll read the updates this morning.
I can't stand watching local news on tv. they try too hard to pull on the heartstrings.
I had to turn it off last night because they were talking about a woman who found her dog dead.
I don't wanna know!

peej  While your thugbabies are rough, you're making a huge difference in their lives.

mommyp - I dreamt last night that your whole family went to WDW with my extended family. We were all staying at pop for free dining, but you could walk from the poly to pop. :confused3 There were like a million of us and we kept getting seperated. Me and chad were trying to keep up with all the boys and couldn't find you - you were with my sister and issac. It was crazy!
your dream boys were not as well behaved as they are in real life! :rotfl:

marita - I'm sorry you're losing asst #2. I really liked her. Is knit freak staying where she is or is she moving with you?

Celery - You have crazy dreams. If my dream boys weren't behaving you should have made Chad take them to the woodshed. ;)

I cleaned the house this morning and made some lavender room/linen spray that I sprayed on things. It smells lovely and everything is so neat and orderly.(for now while everyone is outside)

Marita, sounds like you've found plenty of positives in your new job assignment. Congrats! What's the latest word on your mom?

No more updates on my mom so far. I assume she is stable in nursing home. I need to call my brother and see if she has a phone so I can call her.

Yay for for an impromptu day off!!

Can I just ditto all that? Is that allowed?

Absolutely allowed. It's so good to have you posting again.

Marita - What in the heck is the Ivory Tower? I hope you end up liking the new job and it's good to work with BB. ;)

It's a big office building in MGM that houses most of the executives and a lot of support people. It used to have the animators when they made cartoons here (not the one that tourists saw). I'll spend 10 minutes each morning trying to find a space in the parking garage. :sad2: The first 2 floors are reserved for the "gold footballs". AKA the special parking decal for execs. And not just anybody can go there by showing a Disney ID (unlike hotels). It requires special security clearance. That's true for all parks though.

Sidestory on this. Many years ago (well, 90's I think), there was a guy who got fired, and he entered the then "Ivory Tower" (big office building across from PI, if anyone ever noticed), and made his way to the office of the President of WDW, waved a gun around, and tthreatened to kill him. Nothing happened though. After that, they stationed security in the lobby and you have to show ID or sign in. Not much security in my opinion. But whatevah. After the animation dept closed down, they moved all the execs behind the park gates. Pretty impressive operation. They have of course the fast moving gates that come down, but also big chunks of concrete that move out of the ground unless security lowers it, so you can't just crush through the gates and get backstage. Those were installed after 9/11, not for the execs.
Another sidenote. WDW is a "no fly" zone. Also after 9/11. People figured that the MK would make a lovely target for a terrorist attack. :scared1:

I am going to move SPIKE (aka the beta) to my neighbors the day before we leave so they can make sure the fish has food each day....poor thing will miss me for sure....and Megara goes to the puppy prison.....aka the fat farm aka puppy playschool.......poor baby will miss us........

Hope you all have a safe and blessed Easter ......

Pumba, I didnt realize you are leaving so soon. Have a great trip. Check out the new thing in DTD, called Characters in Flight, I think. I'll try to find a link.

Hey all!

Sorry I've been missing so much lately. Work has been super busy. I really like the new guy I'm seeing.

YAY on the new guy. Hope it works out.

A tornado went through and did a lot of damage.

I saw that in the paper this morning and thought, oh my god, that's right near the celeries. Glad you are ok!
marita - I'm sorry you're losing asst #2. I really liked her. Is knit freak staying where she is or is she moving with you?
Well, I'm not really losing Asst.#2, as I am moving myself. The woman who is taking my place is losing her. Knitfreak is staying, she is the only one that will know what is going on with day to day details. Actually, all the analysts will have to learn some of the things that the associates normalyy do, as there is now no backup if the associate is on vacation or sick. Used to be all the hotels had a 3rd person split between 2 hotels, but that is gone now. Sorry, just thinking out loud here........

I am planning on doing some grocery shopping this afternoon and getting a long overdue pedicure. I'm thinking of making "Heart attack on a plate" for tomorrow, and inviting DD over. She has a rare day off, and her BF has to work tomorrow. I knew he worked at Whole Foods. When she said he had to work overtime and would make like close to $20 an hour doing that, I asked "what does he do there?" Asst Manager or something? That's too much to be a stocker. Turns out he is a buyer for Whole Foods (also goes to college). But I ask you, why would they pay a buyer overtime on Easter Sunday? Can't the place orders ahead of time? :confused3

Have a great weekend, everyone, and prayers to all that need them. :grouphug:

Melinda, I'd say pierogies are more of a dumpling than a doughnut. I've seen them with savory or sweet fillings. Either way....delish! I say we have Mony - who is apparently our resident pierogies expert - give us a better lowdown on 'em.

Cel, glad things are going well with New Guy. Do we have a nickname we can use for him? Prayers for your neighbors (far and near).

Marita - What in the heck is the Ivory Tower? I hope you end up liking the new job and it's good to work with BB. ;)

I was wondering what the Ivory Tower is too, MommyP. Do tell, Marita.

MommyP, maybe NEXT Easter you'll get the chance to go shopping for an Easter dress? :cutie:

It is noontime. Mojo is at the groomer, the kids are off playing in the playroom (quietly, even!), and I am up to my eyeballs in baking ingredients. So far, I've done lemon squares, macaroons, and brownies. I am trying desperately to wash dishes as I go, rather than having to do it all at the end.

I was wondering what the Ivory Tower is too, MommyP. Do tell, Marita.

Look up, Lynt!

Baking sounds delicious. Not my forte by any means. I am completing my grocery shopping list.

My cabinets are in dire need of organization. Still have a lot of things around that DD used that we don't. Like Splenda, for one. I need to organize all that stuff and send it home with her.

Here is a link to the new Characters in flight experience in DTD:

Thanks for the explanation, Marita. And thanks for the info on the new attraction..looks pretty cool!
