well, I finised cooking the chicken. Now I have to pull it apart. and then make the rouex (sp) and add the other things and cook the rice.

Or I could shove everything in the fridge and wait for tomorrow:scratchin

"You can thank President Obama for that"

Now I know he's the miracle maker, but last I checked he was NOT the president LAST year.

 perhaps his miracle producing abilities are retroactive. In that case, I want a ginormous tax refund.

OOOH me too! Maybe if he wizzed around the world a few times, he could reverse time, grab my kid, bring him back to the present, ruin the space-time continuum and give me 4 more years of deductions!!
:thumbsup2

Hey, it could happen...

OH and I had to share this tidbit with you non Obama fans.

I had a meeting at work today. Our hospital actually made money last year. Yep, we were profitable.

BUT, our CFO actually said and I quote

"You can thank President Obama for that"

Now I know he's the miracle maker, but last I checked he was NOT the president LAST year.

 perhaps his miracle producing abilities are retroactive. In that case, I want a ginormous tax refund.

Jeez, you really are dense, huh? If you had drunk the Kool-Aid as you were bidden, you would be aware that His Most Holy Royal Presidentness, in addition to being the Hope and Change we seek, is also responsible for the rising of the sun, the chirping of the birds, and the crunch of the bacon on those cheeseburgers you so enjoy. Pay attention, dammit.

:rotfl2:

People are seriously stupid. You know what's going to happen when/if Obama can't produce the miracles he promises? They'll blame Bush. :lmao:

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

1. I got several texts about that status. Ha! It's like people were afraid to comment on it because it was so very strange. :lmao:

2. Hey look, now you're quoted! Perhaps it's me that's crazy and not the dis afterall. :scratchin Not likely, I know. ;) Just to clarify, you get Christmas break, then Feb. break, then a spring break??? What about an Easter break? Do you get that?

3.......but now when we see someone walk by and we're trying to decide if they're implants we say "4 paw declaw?" :rotfl: Should I have kept that story to myself?

4. Here's your question for the evening: what do you send to school for your child's birthday. Today for a birthday a mom sent 2 (yes, TWO) cupcakes per child, an ice cream cup, a juice box, and a thing of pringles. Absurd, I tell you. When I got it all ready to pass out it looked like a freakin buffet.

1. Heh. That's the best FB status I've seen in a while. Just saying.

2. Christmas break, February vacation, April vacation. Got it? Good. TOLD YA you should've gotten a teaching job in Massachusetts. :snooty:

3. Now THAT'S funny! Glad you shared.

4. Like Twink's kids' school, Boris and Natasha are limited as to what they can bring in for birthday snack. No homemade anything (allergies), nothing from a bakery or a supermarket bakery section, or anything made where nuts or tree nuts are processed (same reason). Blah, blah, blah. So basically, we're relegated to Hoodsies (only if we include the spoons), Popsicles, Goldfish, pretzels, fresh fruit - with or without fruit dip - or chips.

LBlue - Love your mickey head! :earboy2: wish we could get enough snow to make a mickey head, seat, and sofa. :goodvibes

Oh, sure...you say that now! But if you had umpty-nine feet of snow piled in your yard since early December, you'd be singing another song!

I get accused of being too hard on my kids, but I maintain they need it. Plus it's the only way to keep some sense of order. A little healthy fear never hurt a kid, right?

Ha! I say you institute the use of duct tape for those little malcontents!

1. I understand on nighttime problem solving. I also list make in my head and that makes it hard to mentally settle.

2. How to sleep through the night: 1. cut out caffiene. I KNOW. Crazy talk. But your tolerance changes with age too. 2. Exercise- but not in the evening. 3. Do something to mentally unwind for 20 minutes right before bed- it must be enjoyable, relaxing, but not too stimulating: watch tv, read a book, read the disboards, do a cross word... .the key is 20 minutes. Don't get engrossed and wake up. Then go to bed.

3. :faint: The girls school has this whole healthy initiative thing. They get a prize if they bring an approved healthy birthday snack (carrot sticks anyone? oh, do you think the reduced calorie pretzels would be more festive?) plus we have the room rules previously mentioned (no red dyes, nothing requiring a spoon etc etc). I completely understand not wanting sugared up kids and allergies and even protecting the new carpet but seriously. Carrot sticks for a birthday treat??? I can send cupcakes (one per child and some extras for the teachers) but then my kids will not get to be in the Healthy Birthday Club and get a prize from the PE teacher.

1. Hey, I do that too! Which is alleviated somewhat by keeping a small notepad and pen by the side of the bed. If I have something gnawing at my brain, I write it down to remind myself to deal with it the next day. Then I can let it go (usually) and get some rest.

2. I'll pretend I didn't see that, cuz we're friends. You're welcome.

3. My kids' school has this initiative too. The PE teacher walks around the cafeteria during lunch giving out prizes to kids for eating fruit. WTH? :confused3

BBN: HELLO! Happy now?

Marita, Moo, Cel, LilBlue, and all the rest of y'all: :wave2:

Hey, I have never been known to go to Math camp. (Maybe I should have) In fact, I failed Algebra and I think Math in general. But I passed my CPA exam the first try. And I still can't do math in my head. And I work in Finance. OK, so I can handle 10% or 50% of something, but that's about my limit, more or less (in my head) Go figure!!

Computers are a wonderful invention (but you have to know where to put the parenthesis)

Peej - 2 bedroom if my sis goes or 1 bedroom if she doesn't. I'm thinking I'll just book the lake view, not MK view as I only bought in at the minimum because I didn't want to overextend.

If I add points later, it will probably be elsewhere. Based on passing by the Y&BC several times in December, I loved the BCV location, so a smallish re-sale there is looking pretty tempting.

L - WTH are Hoodsies??!

Cel and Moo, I guess it must be a regional thing. Hood is a huge dairy company here in the northeast. One of the many things they make is Hoodsies, which are individual ice cream cups...1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla. They're processed in a nut-free facility, so they're safe for kids with nut allergies.

Cel - Your back itches? Is that symbolic of something??!

Yay on the date!!!

Peej - I'll bet you'd find my hubby pretty grumpy too, but I think you'd enjoy meeting and hanging out with Mari :)

Oh yes I'm sure we would, but we get so tired of the weathermen forecasting snow 5 days in advance (now y'all's weathermen can't even do that) and then dashing all of our hopes the night before said snow event is supposed to happen. They do it just so we will watch them. :sad2: All we Southerners want is ONE good snow that we can miss school, go outside and play in it, take photos and videos, and then have it melt away the next day, is that too much to ask? :confused3

LOL Allie! That was funny!

My kids saw remants of snow in the Alps, more like ice patches. You couldn't make a decent snowball out of it. Sigh!

I just sent an email to work about counting washers AND dryers in Laundry rooms and to check on prices for each. There is just something inherently wrong with doing that on a Friday night at midnight...

I still have to pull my chicken from the bone and pull it apart into shreds. Why didn't anyone keep me from cooking this late on a friday?

Marita - so how much are they going to pay that dude/dudette to go count washers & dryers? Seems like that would be a waste of money to me. :confused3 Just make up some number, they'll never know. ;)

They won't pay him anyting more than usual. A Housekeeping Manager who checks the public spaces for cleanliness anyway. But thanks for your concern. :)

As to they'll never know, you can bet there will be comparisons of washes per occupied room. So you can't just make up numbers.

For those who care, there seems to be about .16 washes per occupied room. That means per night, not per stay.

Translated to average stay, about .4 washes per stay. But this is a convention property, probably more for Mods and Values.

You're welcome!

Always happy to educate.

And no, I don't know why they asked. Just a marionette here.

I gave up on the chicken fricassee thing. I just put everything in the fridge for tomorrow.

lalijack, I think your Hoodsies are so regional, I've never heard of them. :upsidedow
The snow has begun melting. The snow furniture and the precious mickey ears are now little blobs. Our next fun weather extreme is rain, I hope we don't get a lot of it. I posted pictures from a walk the kids and I took yesterday on Facebook. I named it, " Here, There, and Everywhere- in our neighborhood".

Does anyone remember Bobby? Bobby who was created by created by Howie Mendell back in the mullet days. Here's a clip I found of him. If this is the clip I think it is, HM says that Bobby will be making a come back! Here's the clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ar9ybgAg3o
