You are exactly right. I'm still alive and well, sort of.

My 6th grade teacher was really strict. If we got past the warning side of the board, we had to write page 100 out of the dictionary verbatim . Granted this 6th grader cheated and transcribed an extra copy, took it home and wrote extra copies "just in case" ;) . I got a way with it can you believe it?! I'd just hand her a copy and poof, I could go out to recess!

:happytv: Monk and Psych are coming up soonish so I might be a little distracted here and there.

I was traumatized by my kindergarten teacher who made me crawl around on the floor for an hour looking for a scrap of paper I lost. I still remember that. I was crying too. What a meanie. I'm not mean like that, just strict with them. And I do NOT yell. I just speak in a firm tone.

I love that story! :rotfl: "just in case." Sounds like somebody knew it wasn't going to be their last time getting in trouble!

Many of mine didn't get to stay out at recess today because they couldn't follow the no throwing snow rule. I had them all lined up on the wall like little soldiers. All of them scowling at me and pouting. :lmao:

My children even created chairs and couches out of snow, they had a blast!
You are so lucky. My boys do that with the dirt. All my laundry comes out "clean" full of dirt still. :crazy2:
MP - So sorry for all your troubles. Good thing you have done this before, so you know how to properly nourish your growing little one, but c'mon folks she needs to see her midwife already! ::yes:: Man, you would think they would be more competent than that. Take away coverage for 3 precious boys. They shouldn't have even touched theirs, should they? Ok, I'm angry with you! That's ridiculous!

No, they should not have touched theirs. It had already been determined that they qualified for medicaid. I knew the woman was going to be a problem when I spoke with her on the phone. She was a real ****** :scared:

Awww! The monk cast just did a PSA on heart health because of Dr. kroger dying.
:sad1:

I have wireless now! woo! first time in a year I've had it at home. which means I can surf and watch tv. :cool1:

w00t, Cel! :cheer2:

Except I dont get how you couldnt get tv without wireless? :confused3

I couldnt get phone calls without wireless except for using my dedicated phone line or using the desktop, I think, but I always got TV. Color me PJ. (NOPeej)

I am cooking at 9:30 pm on a Friday. I have lost my sanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet it will be 10:30 before I'm done.

Twinks, how did class go yesterday?

So today they decided we spend too much time on reporting, so now we have to do a report on what reports we do and why and how important is it, etc.

Yes, a new report to report on reporting! :rolleyes2

Class went really well. Thanks for asking. Maybe I should lose and rewrite my lecture notes every week. :upsidedow

The report on too much reporting made me :lmao: .... are you sure Disney isn't currently held by the Swiss???? That sounds exactly like my former employer. We always had meetings to get ready for meetings to get ready for meetings.

Getting older messes you all up. Have you tried benedryl? I take it every night to sleep. I get through a whole day not thinking at all, but at night I try and solve every problem in bed in the dark. :sad2:

I understand on nighttime problem solving. I also list make in my head and that makes it hard to mentally settle.

However I am really worried about the epidemic of people I know who regularily take something to sleep.

How to sleep through the night: 1. cut out caffiene. I KNOW. Crazy talk. But your tolerance changes with age too. 2. Exercise- but not in the evening. 3. Do something to mentally unwind for 20 minutes right before bed- it must be enjoyable, relaxing, but not too stimulating: watch tv, read a book, read the disboards, do a cross word... .the key is 20 minutes. Don't get engrossed and wake up. Then go to bed.

If that doesn't work, I'll send you a copy of my graduate thesis. I guarentee that by page 3 you will be sound asleep. ;) If you wake up in the middle of the night just start reading again and within paragraphs you will be back asleep. For serious cases there is an appendix explaining the computer code for the statistical analysis. You should already be laying down in bed before turning to that page and have no plans to be awake for 6-8 hrs.

I would be willing to bet money that they spent time walking around aimlessly, eating donuts or other assorted pastries, and gossiping about their students. I would bet my paycheck, even. And we got paid today, so it's not even half spent yet!

Interesting theory.

Now I'm not sure if I believe that but now when we see someone walk by and we're trying to decide if they're implants we say "4 paw declaw?" :rotfl: Should I have kept that story to myself?

That made me laugh out loud. For real.

Here's your question for the evening: what do you send to school for your child's birthday. Today for a birthday a mom sent 2 (yes, TWO) cupcakes per child, an ice cream cup, a juice box, and a thing of pringles. Absurd, I tell you. When I got it all ready to pass out it looked like a freakin buffet
.
:faint: The girls school has this whole healthy initiative thing. They get a prize if they bring an approved healthy birthday snack (carrot sticks anyone? oh, do you think the reduced calorie pretzels would be more festive?) plus we have the room rules previously mentioned (no red dyes, nothing requiring a spoon etc etc). I completely understand not wanting sugared up kids and allergies and even protecting the new carpet but seriously. Carrot sticks for a birthday treat??? I can send cupcakes (one per child and some extras for the teachers) but then my kids will not get to be in the Healthy Birthday Club and get a prize from the PE teacher.

you can take the girl out of math camp....

so true. thanks for the useful news article?

L = w00t for your hubby being back to work!!!

bdg - Holy t@t@s!! :scared:

Peej - I had a very nice dinner with my sis. I'm trying to talk her into going to WDW with us in September but she needs to check her finances to see if she can afford it. She thinks she may have some unexpired days left on her ticket and I told her there may be free dining and I'll cover lodging. They're taking BLT reservations starting on Sunday :goodvibes so I told her she needs to let me know on Saturday.

When she went to Disney with us before in 1998 my hubby was kind of grumpy, so that's a factor also. But I may just have him go home after a few days and have her come down for the rest of the week. Except that she's not comfortable flying alone. So it's a tad complex . . .

Lil Blue - Do you drink anything with caffeine or eat chocolate during the day? Some people are just extremely sensitive to caffeine. It keeps me awake some nights :hyper:

I sure can't cafn8 like Lynette.

NO Peej, what? What did I do??? :confused3

1. It's not a theory.

2. Then I guess it's good I didn't keep the story to myself!

3. Nothing says happy birthday like a carrot stick. How about meeting in the middle? JUST cupcakes, JUST the ice cream cups (and the mom brings the spoons!), or JUST the pringles. I was so mad about the whole thing because the mom called me at noon and asked if she could do it. I told her we celebrate birthdays at 3pm. That didn't work for her so I told her she was welcome to bring the food in at a time that was convenient for her and leave it and we would eat it at 3. That also displeased her. Come on...you're going to give me less than a day's notice and you're not going to cooperate and bring it at a time that is convenient for our schedule? Are we really just supposed to drop everything in the middle of a math lesson and eat cupcakes??? No. That's why we do it at dismissal. Okay, I'll stop.

Hmmm. It's complicated indeed. You have to post on Sunday morning when you get your reservation!!! :cool1: What are you going for? Studio? 1 bedroom? Magic Kingdom view??? DETAILS!! Just be ready to hit 1 and then 1 when you call member services! Oh wow I'm excited for you apparently! I just did our Christmas/NYE reservation for next year at Beach Club Villas.

NO Peej, what? What did I do??? :confused3

You did nothing, I was coloring myself confused. Or did I get that mixed up?

So today I (well all resorts) got a fun request to estimate how many loads of laundry are done at the hotel per year to estimate water usage for who knows what purpose.
Not so bad, divide revenue by charge per wash/dry cycle, and Bingo! Easy peasy!

But then I had to bring up DVC, which has free washers and dryers and asked how to treat that.

Answer: Just report number of washers. Fine, so I spent 1/2 hour hunting that down.

Then, oh, everyone, please report all your washers and dryers.

GRRR. So I had to email the Exec Housekeeper to get the number, and he has some guy counting them tomorrow.

And a ton of other requests I wont bore you with.
Forever responding to other peoples requests outside of our resorts. GRRRR

No wonder we never get analysis done!

I feel like we all need an English to English dictionary on this thread! :sad2:
Marita - I have wireless internet which means I can surf on my laptop while watching tv instead of having to be in the computer room to surf the internet.

peej - "color me PJ" means "I'm confused"
NOPJ means "No offense, PJ."
So marita was saying that she was confused, like you, but don't be offended.

Any other confusion?
:teacher:

I thought the NO in all caps meant she was yelling. NO, Peej!!!! But I had no idea what I did wrong! Instead I will take no offense.

And what could we possibly need a dictionary for? Goog, oko, wIerd? What's confusing about that? :confused3

LOL, Cel!

I have to tend to my dinner. Who talked me into cooking late on a Friday?

You need to be shot!

Oh wait, that would be me... Never mind....
