I was traumatized by my kindergarten teacher who made me crawl around on the floor for an hour looking for a scrap of paper I lost. I still remember that. I was crying too. What a meanie. I'm not mean like that, just strict with them. And I do NOT yell. I just speak in a firm tone. You are exactly right. I'm still alive and well, sort of.
My 6th grade teacher was really strict. If we got past the warning side of the board, we had to write page 100 out of the dictionary verbatim . Granted this 6th grader cheated and transcribed an extra copy, took it home and wrote extra copies "just in case". I got a way with it can you believe it?! I'd just hand her a copy and poof, I could go out to recess!
Monk and Psych are coming up soonish so I might be a little distracted here and there.

I love that story!
"just in case." Sounds like somebody knew it wasn't going to be their last time getting in trouble! Many of mine didn't get to stay out at recess today because they couldn't follow the no throwing snow rule. I had them all lined up on the wall like little soldiers. All of them scowling at me and pouting.

All my laundry comes out "clean" full of dirt still.
Man, you would think they would be more competent than that. Take away coverage for 3 precious boys. They shouldn't have even touched theirs, should they? Ok, I'm angry with you!
That's ridiculous!

The girls school has this whole healthy initiative thing. They get a prize if they bring an approved healthy birthday snack (carrot sticks anyone? oh, do you think the reduced calorie pretzels would be more festive?) plus we have the room rules previously mentioned (no red dyes, nothing requiring a spoon etc etc). I completely understand not wanting sugared up kids and allergies and even protecting the new carpet but seriously. Carrot sticks for a birthday treat??? I can send cupcakes (one per child and some extras for the teachers) but then my kids will not get to be in the Healthy Birthday Club and get a prize from the PE teacher.
so I told her she needs to let me know on Saturday.
