We just came out of the movie theatre to to wet roads. Don't think it was a storm though.

The kids wanted to see Kung Fu Panda. They loved it , it was just okay for me. Some people on the CB said stay to the end after the credits but it wasn't worth staying this time.

Rob-- that is very scary. I never can understand people. I would pat you on the back but it might hurt by the sound of it. Are you feeling any better?

UMA--that would tick me off to no end if I cleaned twice to be cancelled after that. Hope you have better luck soon.

Sandy-- I hate family drama.

Oh yeah I sold me Barbie house today. Someone came knocking on the door today asking me if we still had it. They bought it today. Then I had another person about a half our later come look for it.....so my price looked better today. If this was a real house I could have had a bidding war.....:lmao:

OMG, I am dragging!

Just finished a project for work that is due at 9 am tomorrow. Of course, If I had actually had done the work last week, I wouldn't have been in this pickle. But anyway, it's done now.

I made the beef stew today, and it was good! DH hubby said it was the best I ever made. Don't know about that, I thought it was anemic in the meat department. I have been harping on DH to buy less, since it's only 2 of us now. But somehow I stilll made the same quantity of veggies and dumplings. Anyway, it was good.

Still no word from DS, GRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Talked to my mom today, she seems tobe doing ok under the circumstances.

Celery, you could call me "Mommy, Dearest" ;)

You may still pat me on the back although I would like to think I did the same thing everyone else would do (though obviously not). I told DW about it and she said something about maybe people would think you were trying to take the child. I said, yeah, there's some risk but I would think most of the time people would understand what your true intent was (it wasn't like I was going to pick her up and run away with her).

Not sure how I'm doing. I was feeling mostly better this afternoon and evening until about 90 minutes ago and now I'm feeling a bit sick again. I haven't been able to sleep well at all this weekend and I'm sure that's contributed to it to. Whatever, I know there are people out there that are going through far worse than I am.

so I can get a flight on norhwest 1 stop for $213, or 2 stops for $679. What's up with that?

ACK!!!!! The estimate for power restoration is currently 11 pm on Wednesday - I sure hope that's NOT accurate.

We had to drive to the next town over to buy some ice tonight. THE Wal-Mart was closed, but our other big chain store, Meijer, was open. They must be running on a generator(s). A lot of people were out buying water, lantern, batteries, etc

If the power is out in the morning, I'm going in late. Worst comes to worst, there is a shower in my building!

well, great! So are you typing by candle light?

OK, I have to get to bed here'
See you all soonigshly!

Goodness Minnie, I am not sure I could go that long without power. And I don't have an internet capable phone. Must rectify that.

My hubby has a couple battery-powered lanterns, so we're using those. And I bought her a little lantern with an LED light for my daughter. She was reading with a flashlight earlier tonight.

Guess I'm heading off to bed too.

Twink, thanks for the PM. WOOT!

GOOOOD MORNING!

VBS today so I'm studying the lesson! DS has been sleeping til about 10 every day and I have to have him out the door by 8:30 this morning so that will be the hard part.

Moo
....Hope you were caught up on laundry. What about the food in the fridge?? And the ice cream??? :worried: Hope you get your power back soon!

Rob! Who wouldn't stop for that situation?! What are people thinking????! That's my worst nightmare! When I was a teenager, Mom and I were driving down a two lane highway that ran through some farmland. I looked over and off in the distance I saw a child (about 2) walking through a field alone to some woods. Mom stopped the car and I climbed the fence and ran to the little guy. I caught up with him just as he got to a stream and I carried him back to the farmhouse. Who wouldn't have? Seriously? You're a good man, my friend!

Everybody else......:wave2:

Wish I had more time to chat but Bible School awaits.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Good morning, MOOvers! I'm popping in to say a quick hey! Our power went out for about 20 minutes yesterday afternoon, and when it came back on, no internet connection! DH spent quite a while on the phone w/Verizon, and then got disconnected. It was too late (10:45) by then to go through all the nonsense of calling them back and attempting to get a live human, so we went to bed.

Long story short, I guess there was a fire at Verizon yesterday, which is what caused the brief power outage. All fixed now! YAY!

Anyhoo, I'm off to start my day. Gotta get a sweater (TM Cel) and get the kids on the bus. Four more days of school!

Have a great Monday, everyone! Talk to y'all later!

Hi gang. Sounds like an "interesting" weekend full of rainstorms and rescues and yard sales and all kinds of stuff.

Marita & Lex: I really enjoyed the pics of your offspring. Thank you for sharing with us.

How about a little joke a friend of mine just sent me via email? Seems like a nice way to start the week.

*ahem* "mic check. is this thing on?"

A burglar broke into a house and shined his flashlight around looking for
valuables.

He picked up a CD player when a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the
dark saying: 'Jesus is watching you.'

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked off his flashlight and froze. When
he heard nothing more he continued. Just as he pulled the stereo out he
heard: 'Jesus is watching you.'

Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically. Finally, in the corner
of the room his light beam came to rest on a parrot.

'Did you say that?' he hissed at the parrot.

'Yep,' the parrot confessed, then squawked, 'I'm just trying to warn you
that he's watching you.'

The burglar relaxed. 'Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?'

'Moses,' replied the bird.

'Moses?' the burglar laughed. 'What kind of people would name a bird Moses?'

'The kind that would name a Rottweiler Jesus."

OR, go to a Mormon family and snag all the supplies you need....You didn't hear that from me.

We have 24 hr. kits and 72 hr. kits at-the-ready as well as tons of food storage and emergency supplies! I even have about 50 pounds of wheat, but an ELECTRIC wheat grinder. :3dglasses

Anyway, having these supplies and water is good council for anybody. You just never know when a natural disaster will strike or someone will lose their income due to illness or accident.

This SOAP BOX minute is brought to you by Emergency Essentials because life can suck.

AAAaack!! That's ridiculous - we had that happen, last year, we lost everything in the fridge - I thought the popsciles, and french fries were ok - but honestly, you could tell - eat everything you can!!

How widespread is it?? Is it as hot there as here?? I saw the line of storms online - I tried to send + + + vibes + + +

Marita anything around $200 rt we book..

Rob :scared1: My niece at 2 could've been the child Melinda and her mom found - She decided at 5am she wanted to see her grandma, so out the door she went - her mom her the door, and got up - went back to bed, 5 min later she ran into dd room - and then panicked, called everyone, including the police - at the same time someone had called the police because she spotted a child wandering around the field - a policeman had her, and brought her home - I think it was about 20 min - she installed locks up at the top of the door after that!! LOL - she graduates from High school this week!!

UMA good seeing you - inconsiderate people!! Interesting idea about the kit - I guess I'm just taking my chances - I've done that every n ow and again, but water doesnt "hold" well - so dh has a water "system" for camping, mountain climbing - I do have canned meats tho - and a stove (propane) does that count??

BBN goog joke!! :rotfl2: How is your neck of the country? I saw film of central Indiana - dh wont call his mom :confused3 His family drama is similiar to mine!

BTW Dear Abby in the paper today had a family drama - so I'll use her advice (she blames "mom" :rotfl2: come on - we're all adults.... *sigh)

Mony and Tim adding extra prayers, and hugs for the days to come are surely going to be stressful at times!! Know you are never alone!! May you feel the peace of the Lord - folllow your instincts!!

We are without power. Just got the phone back on, hence internet.

Lost it during the almost tornado yesterday at about 5:30. That was scary!!!

Neighbor has us hooked up to his generator. My fridge/freezer was dethawing.

So I plugged in for a bit to see what's up.

Kids school got canceled.

Okey dokey artichokeys. (that reminds me. where is celery today? and twinkster? and all the others that are mia? Peej? Did you die on ToT? oh wait the rule is NO BBN. NO ToT, right?)

anyway, speaking of weddings. keep up with my stream of consciousness people. thanks. I CANNOT get this song out of my head. It was played at Tasha's wedding on Saturday and i have been pretty much singing it and/or playing it on the piano since.

Who sings it? (I would ask Peej, if she ever gets back on the computer)

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight

I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude...
