I have no idea what V/R stands for. Anyone?

As Linty said V/R stands for "Very Respectfully". That is the proper way in the military for a junior to close a letter to a superior. A senior writing to a junior would close with "Respectfully".

So the next time you write to him you can close it with:

Respectfully,

Mom
;)

MarkyMark

FYI (in case you didn't already know) he is PNG here on the DIS:rolleyes1

LOL! Thanks Joe! Love that you are still lurking here!  You know I always liked you lots!

Well, semi-lurk. as you do post once in a great while.

OK,wait now, who is PNG on the Dis? Are you trying to tell me son lurks here? That would be too funny, but highly doubtful especially right now.

Please spill the beans, Officer and Gentleman Joe, or PM me!
V/R

Goog evening, everyone! Our wireless internet is down again, so I am currently DISing while wired to the router in the living room. Oh, the horrors! Apparently, the router went "poof" as a result of yesterday's power outage (so much for the fancy schmancy surge protector thingy). So Verizon is shipping us a new one. But it won't be here until Wednesday, so my laptop is the only computer in the house that'll have internet access until then....and only with a direct connection. Grrrrr!

Moo, YIKES on your power outage! After yesterday's 20-minute outage, DH told me how glad he is that he bought a generator 2 weeks ago. He even got the electrical converter panel so we can plug in the furnace, a fridge and some lights if the power were to go out for any length of time. Sounds like malarkey to me, but whatever.

After work today, Boris and Natasha's school had an end-of-the-schoolyear party on the Town Common. They had a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, facepainting, and snacks. Since we live pretty close, we walked. It was a nice family night, and the kids got to spend some time running around with their school friends as well.

Okay, I'm off to check my Scrabble games before I head to bed. Night, y'all!

So I am back from a great dinner with Celery. Lots of discussion was to be had...books, movies, and of course Disney. Hopefully she can attest to the fact that I am not as crazy in real life as I am on here. Not that I am crazy on here either.

I can attest to the fact that lint2 is normal (or as normal as any of us who spend a large amount of time talking to imaginary friends about disney, vampire books and random life stuff). ::yes::

Martha's not good enough for you. How about June Cleaver and Martha Stewart's love child?
:faint:
I want your life.
all except for the non disney liking DH. and the extreme cold weather.

Man now I got a great idea for a new username. Cereal Killer. Oh yeah...I kills it dead.
Would that be Wheat Germin' Vernon, the cereal Killer?anybody get THAT reference?
Moo, that's an awful power outage. The last we had like that was an ice storm that shut down half the county for a week. Fortunately, I left for NOLA the second day of it. Got back as they got my place reconnected. That would have been about 1990.
Marita, I think Joe meant MarkyMark was PNG on the Dis. Can't imafgine why.:bitelip:
cel- what does the Breadman think of Disney?

marita - no pics were taken. sorry!

donald - he's never been. he likes disney movies (the incredibles is his favorite... and I think he's pretty darn incredible myself. ;) ) and he wants to take his kids.
I'm trying to figure out the best time.
He doesn't have vacation until the first of the year, the kids don't have time off until spring break - not a good time to go to disney.

I'm thinking we'll do a Carnival cruise on spring break and go to disney next june or october.
the kids are out of school for june and july and have a 2 week fall break in october.

Me neither, DTD. And thanks, I got that finally, I missed the last part of the message.

Power outages suck no matter how you slice them.

Lynette, great mental comfort to have a generator back-up. Wish we had one. Sounds like you had a fun day with B and N.

DD made rice crispies tonight to send to DS, Apparently he requested some.
Oh, and DS called this morning, saying he had a whole 11 hours of sleep from Saturday night. DH said it must be a different boot camp than he went to. But then again, he is getting towards the end of his first (hardest) 6 weeks. Today they were going to study for another "you better pass this or you get kicked out" test. I hate that!

We (meaning regional team of 8 people, except we were short 1) took the boss out for a birthday lunch today. We each donated $1! Some lunch treat, heh?
We went to Panera, and I had the broccoli-cheese soup, which was really good.( I liked it better than the cheese soup in Canada, am I allowed to say that here?)

I would take them in October. Better weather and less crowds.

Yes, October is good. Except it was still pretty dang hot last October even.

I was there at the end of September and it did seem unseasonably warm. When I did my CP I remember it being gorgeous at that time of year.

Also in October you can do Food and Wine and MNSSHP.

WOO HOOOOO!!!!! We have power again! I'm sure it's because I dragged salvageable stuff from the freezer and a load of laundry (spilling 1/3 of a bottle of fabric softener in the backseat of my car in the process) to my friends' house.

I also took the puppies and I think I scared the piddle out of them slamming on the brakes to avoid a critter on the way home. I think it was a cat. Looks like I'll be getting my car detailed this week @@

I'm SURE that's why the power came on minutes after I walked in the door. I'm SO glad it didn't take until Wednesday night or longer.

Hope others get theirs back soon. My cousin's is out - a big pine tree fell across her driveway on some lines taking out her power and some neighbors' as well.

L - Your hubby is a smart man! Since he bought a generator, you'll probably never need to use one (fingers crossed)!

GOOG MORNING!

Sorry to Twink and everyone who said they missed my morning posts. Because they are going to totally stink this week!

Woke up late and throwing together the VBS stuff. Lots of thunderstorms here last night.

Moo...Glad you got the electricity back! Your car is gonna smell really good for a while! ;)

Lint & Cel....No pictures??? WHAT?!

Gotta getta sweater.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Today's VBS verse:
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." --Matthew 16:16

BabyN- Glad to hear the DH made it home. I was worried since we had weather too.

I gotta ask. Do you typically NOT have weather out on the prairie? Perhaps YOU are the one with the rip in the space time continum thingy.

I wanna see pics of pirate regalia. I wanna see pics of pirate regalia at "Donals" I love that you embraced your inner pirate:

Oh I know this one.... it is Tracy Byrd !!

Babynurse -- sounds like you had a blast at the wedding. What colour did you wear , short, long?

ok. You get a prize too. You wanna come to a slumber party at Sunnybrook. FYI, it's not like the prairie we have weather everyday. hee hee

The bridesmaids dresses were strapless, floor length, and yellow. Dont ask me what material they were made out of, cuz I'm not a girly girl (for the most part) so I dont know that stuff. I know it wasnt silk. Maybe tafetta? I dont think it was though. Isn't tafetta kinda stiff feeling? Awww, heck what do I know? Got any basketball or football or baseball questions?

Man ya'll are having some wild weather. And here I languish in the dry southwest. Send us some rain please.

I'll be in the southwest July 4th week. Maybe I will stalk you too. Except I havent read the Twilight series. I need to embrace my inner vampire at some point I guess.

thanks for noticing I was gone, babycow! glad you had a good time at the wedding.

this seems like a good time for your favorite
