Sandy-- I gave the sand away as a welcome to the neighbourhood present...:lmao: Someone told me he just build his son a sand box. So I introduced myself to the new neighbour and bring him a few buckets of sand. He was actually really happy to take them off my hands.

Marita-- Hubby is going to post it at work to see if he can sell it. It is pretty big to hold on for grandchildren. I would love that though.

Lint2 as I have seen them call you....:welcome: to the thread.

Lexi-- so nice to see your MSO's again. Welcome back!!!

WOW, DH seems receptive to flying up to Alabama for the graduation.
Allie was kind to send me another flight search site, but still nothing under $700 for the 3 of us, plus rental car. On the other hand, I hate driving 10 hours each way, I do NOT trust people on the road! But anyway, have to wait and see if DS makes it. This whole thing is giving me ulcers! You have to make 80% on certain tests or you are out! And he has another big one comeing up next week.
I wish the boy would call me!

Then again, I have to spend over $1200 or whatever it is at the time to go to Germany in September, so driving would make more sense. Have to wait and see what happens.

I am goiing to make beef stew tomorrow, yay! I love beef stew. But I think I will go get sme real milk for the bisquits. All this low fat stuff we have in the house sucks.
Why do we have that anyway? DD is liing with her BF :confused3 She rarely eats here anymore.

try searchin airtrain or Frointer Flights...DTD found the best deal with them for our Oct Trip and hotwire.com for the car rental...I hope this helps

I love impromtu days.

On the way home from dance class I was loathing all the chores I ignored this week and said:

Woman, you are a 5 minute drive from the lake, why not pack up a picnic lunch for your family and head to the park.

We did. Found a nice shaded table under a huge weeping willow and spent 4 hours enjoying life.

It's so much cooler by the lake.

We live near Lake St. Clair, actually we are right outside Anchor Bay.

(Right before I left though I did throw a load in the wash)

kayak.com and sidestep.com can comparison shop for flight prices, but do take down the flight numbers, then go to hte airlines own website to purchase -

also check out the Transportation board here for deals, codes for rental codes!!

Shermstravel

Marita, a buch of options appear and you just key in the info and it's all on the same page. Hope this helps. You get like Orbitz, travelocity, hotwire, cheapair, cheaptickets, etc.

That's beautiful Mon - good for you!!

thanks for sharing!

Mony - Thanks for that site. It is helping me with my Fall Break planning. It's just an imaginary trip right now, but I can tell DH is softening up with the numbers from that site. ;)

Glad you got to spend some relaxing family time today. :cloud9: You needed it. ::yes::

Marita - When will DS grajeeate? (provided he passes all required tests)

I'm b-a-a-a-ack! Hi, everyone! Welcome, Lint2 :)

Moo, I must have missed something somewhere, but what does scrapbooking have to do with friends open house :confused3
Marita, I worked on my friend's daughter's scrapbook albums for her graduation open house. I was there from noon until about 7 this evening. I went early because I had to put page protectors on a number of pages and then had to assemble the albums (they were Creative Memories albums). They were REALLY happy with the job I did and I was gratified that a LOT of people who attended the open house sat and looked through the albums and enjoyed seeing Molly's photos through the years  I also scrapbooked the graduation photos from last Sunday :thumbsup2

Hope your son passes his tests  W00t on your Le Cel dinner and riding Soarin'!!!!!!

LEX!!! Mimi's graduation photo is so cute! Kudos on the goog payin' job! Mari is home until Monday morning. She has been making the rounds, so I really haven't seem her much and she is over at a friend's tonight :( But, we should be able to spend most of the day tomorrow together. We're going out to dinner with my sis tomorrow :yay:

This weekend the heat will be here......inthe 90's.....and very humid.....I can already feel the humidty sneaking in as I type.......I like warm but not sticky warm.....better get the AC units out of the closet......and working ...
Ugh! It was SO hot, HUMID, and rainy yesterday. I went though a major downpour on my way home from work yesterday. Something hit my car and I was afraid I'd have a dent, but I haven't noticed one. We turned the AC on Thursday, I think :thumbsup2 Today it wasn't quite as bad. TG for those who were having open houses. I took a couple fans over to my friend's house today because her mom (from Florida) was pitching a fit about her wanting to have the AC on :furious: Wednesday (when her mom heads home) cannot come soon enough.

Were you trying to do that OK GO thing?

I love impromtu days.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (NOT laughing at you, Cel, but I thought Lex's OK GO comment was ha-larious!

Goog for you, Mony!!!!! Sounds like you really needed it ::yes::

Twink! PM, please, on your travel dates, please and thank you :goodvibes

I'm exhausted and just had a big ole margarita. Think I'll go to bed uncharaceristically early.

Thanks for all the tips, friends! I will check everything tomorrow, but I doubt we will get lower that $700 for 3 of us. Delta, with a special offer. wanted $679 EACH!

Allie, if Chris passes all his tests, he will finish basic Officer training August 6 (graduwation day)

SO I got no call today, but an email

It went like this:

Subject: Hello

Mom the base lost a lot of our pictures so can you send me the photos I already sent you…and here is a pic of me in my new blues

V/R,

Christopher K. M, OT, USAF
Academics Leader 3-12

I have no idea what V/R stands for. Anyone?

But he did send a new pic (in his new dress blues)

ChrisinDressBlues.jpg

He is the one standing near the center of the room. It looks like he is growing a mustache but I highly doubt that they allow that, so it might just be the light.

So anyway, I sent him the the pics and then had trouble with yahoo mail, so I went to clean out my sent mail. And I found an email I sent to MarkyMark (Oldtimers will know), except it was meant as a reminder for me at work and not to him (Marita and Marchief, I guess I had hasty fingners) He never did answer my email headed "send out NBD's Monday", LOL.
So anyway, I invited him to come by, I always loved him and Rhonda, and if anyone needs prayers, he's the man!

If I am right V/R stands for Very Respectfully.

Thanks, Lintasare. I guess that makes sense, sort of, with his official signature, although using the abreviation seems not very respectful, LOL.

No, Nancy Drew is an old knickname. It is funny because I am no good at sleuthing.

If you ever had to get rabies shots you would be all for vanishing it too ;)

lint2 - It's one of twink's nicknames. Also called knicknames cuz we're weird. She's also twinkessori cuz one of our group is about to be an official montessori teacher (princessjasmine aka lil L aka peej aka pj) and twinks just somehow became twinkessori. My enter key is broken. :( I swear it's not cuz I'm tipsy. :( :( anywho, twinks is also nancy drew cuz she's super smart and always gets her man.

Actually, it's an old nickname, cause she gets to the bottom of things, I think. ( I keep forgetting to buy that Ginko stuff to help me remember things) Or maybe because she went to Math Camp? Anyway, Twinkie is the official detective of this group. She is also known by her real name of Nellie Olson. :bitelip:

OK, I viote for no rabies shots!

And math camps are cool

Celery, broken enter key = BAD!
