Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

Marita - Yes, I was in the hospital three days/two nights. Could have stayed a third night if I wanted to. Glad my little sis was here because Don is not a wait on you hands and feet kind of guy, LOL!
Two of my friends came over tonight and brought me homemade beef stroganoff for dinner with grilled asparagus and French onion soup for tomorrow. Yummm!

Another one of my friends who has had both knees replaced also visited tonight and lent me her shower stool. It was wonderful to shower and wash my hair tonight :)

Nabby - Hope you had a fabulous birthday!

Sandy - Hope you're doing OK in that hotel or got a different one. I think we stayed there over 20 years ago. Yikes!

Dnag, it's 12:30 AM and you are making me hungry!

Glad you are doing ok though :grouphug:

I went and got my pedicure today and got eyebrows done. My salon, which is a little hole in the wall place got all new furniture. A little famly owned place where I have seen their daughtes grow up. I remember walking past the place 12 yeares ago and they did pedicures via buckets, LOL (never went there then, or anywhere for that matter). Now they have fancy vibrating chairs, for years now.
So now I'm caught up with nails, pedicure and eyebrows, still have hair to go, its wayyyyyyyyyy too long. Hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes over on FB I did see them. :goodvibes

Hubby got me flowers and took us all out to dinner. Other than that it was a normal Saturday of chores.

Moo-- sounds like you are doing well. But I am with the others don't over do it. Enjoy what help you get.

Marita-- I'm sure you look fabulous now. I have never had my eyebrows done. Sounds to painful. I guess if I had a unibrow or they were really bushy I would. I see them in the middle of the mall doing it with strings? No thanks.

Hannah got a small part in the school musical. She is one of the background people. The play is Aladdin. So I have to find her some harem type pants and a hunter green t shirt it says. She doesn't know if she has any speaking parts yet. I was surprised she even tried out since she is so shy. Had to sing by yourself for the audition.

Well better get them up for church, hope everyone has a great day! Weather is turning cooler.

Happy to hear you had a nice birthday, Nabbie!

My sister went home today, but my hubby helped me a bit. Had a pretty good day. Still not much appetite, but that's not a bad thing!

Glad youre feeling better. I hard-boiled some eggs yesterday, I could give you a couple ;)

Thanks for the offer, Marita, but my tummy does not handle eggs very well, especially hard boiled eggs! Hubby always has them in the fridge and I haven't been able to eat them since before my weight loss surgery.

I had some French onion soup that my friend brought over for lunch. Yum, yum! And I'm heating up some stroganoff shortly.

Today's PT went pretty well. I liked the therapist. Sounds like he's going to work my knee pretty hard the next couple weeks. I just hope the swelling goes down so I can bend my knee more easily soon!

morning...
FREEZING HERE TODAY...after having almost a week of 80s...we are now in the teens..it was 19 when I got up...so a few extra clothes and coffee and I am good to go..
Yesterday ..the roofers started...with 25 to 30 mile per hour winds and temps in the low 30s...made them a pot of coffee and hey appreciated that...they are not here yet...so I am assuming that it is to cold and to windy...geesh...

Part of our city lost power yesterday with the winds...blowing tree limbs down...our son and dil also lost it for a few hours...

Just ordered another 100 gallons of oil...maybe that will be enough until the prices go down in the summer ...it already went down this time to 3.53 a gallon...last fill was 3.67...so not to bad ...heck we need it whatever the cost right???

Ava is in my lap right now and its hard to type one handed.

Moo..have a good day and be good and dont over doooooo

Cold and windy here too Pumba. And our furnace isn't working. The house was at 60 when I got up this morning.

Hubby worked nightshift last night so I told him to go to bed and fix it when he got up. I will live, just put another sweater on. If I get to cold I can bake something in the oven or even sit in the basement with the fireplace.

Hannah has crazy hair day and wanted to dye her hair purple. So I did last night. It is actually a really dark purple and you can only really see the purple highlights in the sun or under light. Suppose to wash out in 28 hair washes we shall see. She didn't want the spray hair colour because it just make your hair hard. We coloured her hair a few years back . It was suppose to be a nice purple then too and turn a beautiful copper colour. Hannah would make a good red head.

Nabbie - We have reverted to colder weather again too :( Not that I have been outside much lately, but hubby did take me for a ride into town tonight to get Taco Bell for dinner and a small Blizzard for later. My appetite still isn't that great, but the ice cream tasted wonderful! Probably a good thing I couldn't eat it all.

I'll bet Hannah's hair looks cute! Should be interesting to see next week's BL. Can't believe Mark didn't lose any weight this week and that they sent Megan home. I wonder which episode it will be where they have the walkout??! It's unbelievable to me how Conda just keeps skating through.

Pumba - I tried to be diligent about my PT exercises today, but I had a lot of swelling from yesterday's session, so I've had to do a lot of icing today. Hopefully, I'll be good for another more intense session tomorrow :goodvibes

Well, I had a weird day today. OB/GYN for a test for potential cancer. They did this exam with giant lenses. Then the dr. said, we have to do a biopsy, but your are too tense today. come back in 2 weeks after some cream treatments, and then take an advil and a valium and have someone drive you. Great! Colour me scared.

So I get ready and go to the check out office, and the dr. says, sit down.
Then he says, I have great news, you are clear, all the tests came back negative, we dont have to do the biopsy, just get rechecked in a year. So he cancelled all the pills they had ready and even refunded the $93 I had to pay for the special test he did already (I guess he felt guilty).. Why he didnt look at those tests to start with I dont know, but boy, was I relieved!!

In other news, DD's BF showed up with a dozen red roses tonight for no special reason (wait, maybe it's 3 month anniversary) and dinner ingredients (burger stuff, I think). I overheard them talking about that his family (grandmother?) liked DD. They are together like every free minutes. Too bad both live at home, LOL. Sad truth for this generation, no good jobs for them.

Saturday is dinner at Yachtsman's for hubby's 65th with both of them, so maybe I'll learn some more.

Nab, wow, another crazy hair day, seems there have been so many now. How many have we all been together here on the Dis?

Moo, hope you keep getting better!

Marita...I am glad that you dont have to do the biopsys...I had three all at once...when I was right before my 50th birthday...I didnt want anyone to know so I didnt let them in on it...THEN my son in law found out and yelled at me to call and get the results...so I could stop stressing...I was fine...but sure scared the crap out of me...

Today ...my friends of the Dis...its snowing out...can you believe that ...last week I was out in my bathing suit sunning and today it is SNOWING ...give me a break...I know ..its Maine..if you dont like the weather...wait a few...and that is what it is..

next week, monday the flooring comes for the kitchen and dining area...tuesday ..oh wait..tuesday its nothing...Wednesday I have a mammo scheduled...Thursday carpet comes for living room and hall way and down the stairs ...Friday hubby goes to get his carpal tunnel done...one hand at a time...Saturday Megara goes for her yearly and it will be everything...plus her blood test for her thyroid...she is one expensive animal to keep going but ..I was going to say she is a good dog...but today is my day off and she woke me up at six thirty...geesh doggie...
Our daughters rotti ...crazy dazee has to go to a neurologist today..she has been having seizures and the phenabarbitol and her other med isnt keeping her seizure free...so they are going to check her out in case....

have a good day my friends

Moo-- do you still have pain with the swelling?

I think they get down to the last four and that is when the walkout happens. Can't believe Mark is still there but I guess that give the rest a chance to knock off their competetion, the ones that have more to lose and can. Megan did look good in a wedding dress but thought when she was on the horse she still looked big. :confused3

Marita-- Lucky for you for not having to do the biospy. That thing hurts I had it done a few years ago. Cute about your DD boyfriend. I hear you on jobs for the young kids. I worry about when my kids have to start looking and they have years to go.

Power went out durning the night and I sleep in by 20 mins. could have been worse , now one is late for school at least.

And the temps are suppose to be up today only to fall and chance of snow on the weekend. Hubby better fix that furnance today.

Whew, Marita, what a relief! But that does sound like a rather odd doctor's appointment.

Nabbie - I was thinking the same thing about Megan, but I think it's because she carries a lot of her weight in her hips and thighs.

Yes, I still am having a fair amount of pain. I had been trying to lengthen the amount of time between pain pills, but haven't been able to, except during the night.

Boo on the snow, Pumba! I think it is getting a little warmer here, but only into the 60s.

I have to ask for some prayers for my MIL. She is in the hospital tonight. They took her in last night with shortness of breath and an infection. We spent the day with her today while the kids were at school. Didn't want them to see her hooked up to stuff.

Nicholas is off school tomorrow , Hannah has to go though so I can't sleep in. Can't believe it is Easter next week all ready. I better get filling eggs. Trying really hard not to open the candy I already got.

Today was hat day tomorrow is bright coloured clothes for Spring. :confused3 I told Hannah they should do a inside out clothes day or wear them backwards days....Hannah wears bright colours all the time.

Nab, prayers for you MIL. I hope she gets better soon.
Moo, hope you feel better!

We met with a Financial planner today (free through DIsney for a consultation) to have him evaluate our status for retirement. He concluded we are in good shape (YAY) but reallocated our 401 investment allocations. Here is the bummer though. I have medical benefits from Disney after retirement, I started early enough (hubby, 5 years after me, missed the cutoff).
Well, I thought once I retire I have the medical benefits, but not so, they dont start till age 65. And Medicare doenst start till then either. SO if I retire before 65 (which I was really planning to do), I will have to buy medical insurance. So that was a totall bummer for me. But he did say we could just get a "high deductible" plan, which basically means you pay for dr. visits out of pocket, but if you end up in the hospital, the insurance kicks in. He said probably $200 a month for that. Still, I'm bummed about that.

I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow (YAY) and hopefully finally get a haircut. I'm so overdue its not even funny (not because of lack of time, but due to laziness)

PS: The Financial :planner was actuall a Disney employee, so I looked him up in the system. He works for the Credit union and his titel is "WEALTH ADVISOR". LOL, I wish I had wealth!

Nabbie - Sending prayers for your MIL and hugs to you and your family!

I've been feeling a bit better every day. I managed to do some revolutions on the recumbent bike today and the swelling has definitely gone down. The compression stockings aren't cutting into my legs any more.

Marita - Can't you start drawing Social Security and start on Medicare at 62? I think the SS benefits are a bit lower, but I'm pretty sure that's what my former supervisor did.

hubby is staying until I reach the golden age of 65...he will be 66 in September so he can collect ss with no deductions for getting it early...his age one is 66...for full....so if he retires now MY medical would be almost 900 a month...some of my doctors visits are over 200 bucks...my annual was 365...my eye appointments are EXPENSIVE...so we will keep my insurance and his and he can retire NOW in 13 months...one day after I hit 65...YIPPEE..
SO look at both sides of this Marita...if you had to pay for doctors visits...and you go more then once a year...think about it...

Okey..the roofers are making noises and Megara is having a hissy....see you guys later...I have to go and find my ring..

I dropped it this morning in our bedroom...so off I go..

Oops, you do have to be 65 to be eligible for Medicare. Looks like that three year gap paying for insurance could be really expensive :scared1:

Sure hope they don't take my retirement insurance benefits away!!!

Knee update: Had a little incident with my dog, Jasper, this morning. I went to let the dogs outside this morning and Jasper flung himself up against the side of my bad leg. I hollered OW, Ow, OWWW!!! And hubby came running into the living room to see what had happened. Fortunately he didn't hit the incision, but it startled me and hurt for a while. I went back to bed and iced it for a while and it seemed to be OK later in the day, thank goodness.

My Physical therapist is taking his family to WDW in June and staying at All Star Movies. He has a 7 year old son. Sounds like his wife has done a lot of research. They have a dining plan and got all their reservations lined up. They have a California Grill dinner reservation and are going to watch fireworks from the Contemporary one night. He asked if I had any good tips for him. I suggested hitting Fantasyland first thing in the morning before it gets super crowded and recommended a midday swimming break for his son on some of the days. Does anyone else have any suggestions I should pass along?

Dang about the dog hitting your knee, MOO. I swear I will break my leg one day by tripping over the cat that always jumps in my way!

As for tips, I dont have any of my own, I never vacationed at Disney, but for sure with little ones take a midday break.

Marita - We saw your FB post about being at Epcot! Was that for your hubby's birthday dinner?!

I'm doing fairly well the past couple days. Was able to sleep through the night last night, but my knee was really hurting once I woke up. I am nearly out of pain meds; however, when I called the pharmacy about a refill, they said I would have to bring in another hard copy prescription to get more (because it is a controlled substance), even though the doctor had marked 3 refills. I will have to call my doctor's office tomorrow and have my hubby pick it up. My doctor is on vacation this week, so hopefully someone is filling in for who can help me out!

One of my friends from work visited me for a couple hours yesterday and a couple more are coming over today. It is nice having company and catching up on what's going on at work!
