wow marita....You made out like a bandit....SOunds like you will look awesome and very professional..
If your red coat you wanted to wear doesnt look to good.....Put a wet towel ..well damp......and a fabric softener thingie........and put it in the dryer for a few minutes........it will look and smell like new......as long as there is no leftovers on it you are good to go.

How sad for that family and also the town family.....shaking my head thinking how can this keep happening.....do they need detectors at each door and a policeman sitting there too.....

Our son and dil and two rug rats came over today and before we knew what was happening.......they booked a trip to disney ......WITH US......I love to have family with us.........we have such a good time....then had to redo our reservations.....we had to get rid of Chef Mickeys .....couldnt accomodate four more and decided on Breakfastasaurus at AK and Crystal Palace for dinner one night......they want to think about some others ....but that is done so far.....

Have a nice night everyone:grouphug:

Just checking in to say that I made it up on time this morning and stayed awake during the retreat even though I was only able to sleep a few hours last night  Thanks for the sympathy, Marita! Yay for finding some suits!!!

The woman who arranged for the meeting place arrived late this morning, saying she had the "flu" and wasn't going to stay, but she did end up being there for the whole retreat. My coworker and I suspect that she overslept because she had a hangover!

Allie - Sending prayers . . . that is SO sad :grouphug:

Nabbie - Have a nice visit with your family!

Pumba - w00t for having your family join you at WDW!!! That's definitely worth rearranging meal ressies for :)

bbn - I'm so happy to hear that your mom's doing well  Sorry to hear that Dumbo went to hamster heaven :littleangel:

Lil G - We know you'll be getting your sweetie a little Valentine's gift

Wow quiet weekend.....

I have been enjoying the sunshine. It is still cold but beautiful to be out driving around. We went out of town again today.

Marita-- way to go on the shopping. I love Burlington Coat Factory. We do not have one here. Loved getting Hannah's dresses and clothes there when we crossed the border. Cheap to like you said. What colour suits did you get?

Babynurse-- will you be glued to the tv tonight. Hubby is going to be watching tonight. He does not live under a rock like me. I might check out the half time show. We don't get the same commericals though...they cut back to ours. Mind you the one with the talking baby , he is from Canada they showed him on the news the other night.

Hello out there

We got little ceasars pizza for supper with the crazy bread and marinara sauce....I only eat two pieces of pizza and maybe one stick of bread...it is pipping hot and so good for dipping......delicious.

We did anothe reservation for the six of us....we are going to go to the luau .....we think that the kids will enjoy it.......we hope so..

IT is so stinking cold out there today.....froze while driving over to get the pizza....I sat on my hands while dear hubby drove.

tomorrow is another start to another week.....that means we have to start our walking again.....hubby put a new battery in our mileage thingie......so for sure I can see how far we go inside the mall.....we cut a few of the corners.:rotfl:

Pumba, thanks for the tip about damp towel and dryer, worked like a charm.

DS's car is 350 miles away in BMW place. BIL arrange to have it towed free for the extra miles, normally the limit is 250 miles.

I'm tired!

Never got nails done this weekend, but patched them up. at least hair and laundry are done, and luckily hubby is home tomorrow to wake me up early Have to print 15 or 20 copies of the Powerpoint presentation and still waiting for feedback. It will take forever on our little local printer, so the plan is to have to have it printed at the Grand on high speed color printer.

Is it time to retire yet?????????? And what do I do when I do?

Back in the deep, deep freeze this morning.

Babynurse -- sorry your Colts didn't win.

Marita -- what happened to your son's car? Hope you got up in time this morning. Monday's are the worse.

I watched all the shows recorded last week, so it wasn't a bad night for TV for me. Hubby and Nicholas watched football.

And Hannah did crafts all night. She bought a tote bag at Walmart yesterday to deocorate. She was calling it her purse. She had things lined up to put in it. And when she asked for magnets I was confused. :confused3 Then she said it is here in the book Mom. I looked it was in her Build a Bear colouring book and it listed for a gift bag and told you how you could decorate a tote bag. She had hard candy, a note book, pencils, a mini photo album and now I can't remember what else. Thought it was cute. No money or wallet though.

Ok, here's what weather is like down here in the South. The weather men said we would have rain this afternoon and evening, and into tomorrow. NOTHING about this morning, well, guess what?????? It snowed!!:scared1::rotfl: It was just a little sleet when I put DD on the bus, but by the time DS left, and I finished walking the dogs it was really coming down, AND sticking to the roads. Now we are under a Winter Weather Warning! :confused3

Now Monday is my day to go grocery shopping and the store is just across the street, so YES, I went to go buy my milk, eggs, and bread. :rotfl2: By the time I left the store, the sun is shining, the snow has melted into slush on the roads, and I hear the birds chirping in the trees!

Gotta love the South! :rotfl2:

its twelve noon.

Spent the morning talking to dil about Disney and who what where and when we are going to be doing things....we will enjoy it I know...

Anxious now for the time to pass.....

We didnt do the football thingie because we dont like football......easy as that......:rotfl:

I just finished my lunch and will go for our two mile walk at one pm.....My niece just woke up.....ROLLING MY EYES HERE........She needs to get into a routine if she is going to find a job and get rid of some of her high blood sugar results...Sleeping in for half the day is soooooooo wrong .....so I called her and said NICOLE wake up.....she said she would grab a breakfast and take a shower and be here in one hour...so that is what I am giving her..ONE HOUR......I may walk more then two miles and get her metabolism going again...it probably went into space during the weekend.....I know she splurged yesterday watching super bowl....one of her favorite drinks is equal to my two meal carbs ......ANOTHER ROLLING EYES HERE>.......

Hope you are all good and have a good start to another cold Monday here.....

OH YAH..we will call hubbys brother today and see if he is shoveled out yet...he is in the little center that is either DC, maryland or va.....he hates snow.....ROFL....

Almost forgot.....NAB.......have you ever seen those purses made out of a place mat....get one with nice colors and turn inside out and stitch the side and then a corner stitch too.....and then some type of holder and then velcro for the keeping it shut at the top........they are wicked cute and I wonder if Hannah would like to make one.....two placemats would make a bigger tote of course..

Hi Moovers! How's stuff? popcorn::

Things here are going well. School, church, extracurricular stuff, play dates, yada yada yada. Plus, Boris and Natasha had their 100th day of school today, and their February break is one week from today.

The local weather wench is forecasting a MAJOR snowstorm for Wednesday. :headache: Not too happy about that, but what can ya do?

That's all I've got.

Lynette - We're supposed to be getting some snow too. Not looking forward to it, but I guess we've had it pretty easy so far this winter, all things considered. I'm looking forward to having a three-day weekend!

Allie - Sending some more prayers along.

bbn - I echo Nabbie's condolences on the Colts loss. My hubby was rooting for them. I was really just watching the commercials and half-time show.

Nabbie - Sounds like Hannah had a fun project to keep her busy! Do you have any vacations coming up?

Pumba - Good for you for getting your niece walking more! I've been trying to do a little more walking with my boss at work lately, but we only did about a quarter mile. She has had two knee replacements and has some heart issues, so we're taking it pretty slow. But I also worked out during lunch. A woman in a different division does lunch-time work-outs with weights a couple days a week. She's planning to be a trainer when she retires and is working toward her certification.

Marita - Hope you got all your presentation stuff ready. I need to work on a Powerpoint for a March 11 public meeting, but I figure I've got a while before I need to work on it

Hi all,

I'm tired! Meeting today went well, but we had some frantic changes and substituting of pages at the last minute! :scared1: Frigging trying to match chart colors was the worst, we are still trying to get used to Office 2007 that we just got. But it all got done in time.

Anyway, I'm pooped.

Hopefully the rest of the week should be quiet. Follow up meeting from today is tentatively end of June, which is right in the VERY THICK of budgets  Hopefully we can get it moved, cause anyway you slice it, it's a ton of work on the deck and budgets takes up ton of time all their own already.

I need to retire! Can I volunteer with pay somewhere?

our furnace shut down about one am and hubby figured it out about 3:30 am....It was stinking cold even under the covers.....he reset it and hopefully that is it ......

yesterday we did walk the two miles and my niece told me what she ate for breakfast and omg......this is going to be hard ......she had over two meals worth of carbs........then she did the same last night for supper......OY OY OY..all the walking in the world is not doing her much good if she eats like she needs to do all three meals together....at the same time....She wants me to go to her house today and look over her fridge and cupboards and see what is wrong and what is right.....this is going to be harder then I thought.....but we will go go go and see if we can get her straighted out by eating for one person and not a few ....
Cold again today.......we are not getting the snows of dc and va but we are getting the cold blast......we used to blame it on Canada......that was my daddys doing......hahaha

last night we bought 8 pkgs of chicken breasts...boneless and skinless and each pkg had six ......we pkged those up in ziplock baggies and put them in individually......so we are all set for a while...they were on sale for 1.88 a lb..which is a good deal.....we were running out of chicken anyways.....so we will be set unless we invite an army in......hahaha...

Hope you all have a good day...getting ready to go for our walk earlier today......see ya

Cold here too Pumba and they say we are going to get the tail end of the storm from the U.S. So you are right can't blame us this time. I really shouldn't complain since we have had very little snow so far. Only shoveled once or twice.

Pumba -- is your neice diabetic already or your trying to make sure she doesn't become one? That is a great deal on chicken. I do that too buy lots and separate them for later. I think the cheapest our chicken ever goes down to is $1.99 /lb.

Marita--You sound like you could use a holiday.

Moo-- Biggest Loser tonight. They are sending two people home so I wonder if we are down to couples falling below the yellow line goes home?

I'm here! Snow day!!! :)

It's still coming down too! I had stayed up waaay too late (try 4am) helping a friend write a paper last night, so the sleeping in was much appreciated! We wanted to go sledding today but they're saying not to drive and the streets here have yet to see a snow plow so I guess I'm out of luck. Plan B...baking!

Lynette...sending the snow your way. I got you! ;)

What did you bake.

Is it still snowing there? Still waiting on ours, very cloudy out but no snow.

My nieces bs fasting test was really high......but her doctor wants her to have another bs fasting test in March and then see what it is.. Preventing diabetes from hitting hard is what she is HOPEFULLY trying to achieve. Well I am trying to achieve for her......but she has to do some of this on her own.....I cant be with her twenty four seven.......it was frustrating when she told me what she ate....I shook my head and thought.....what am I doing..big big sigh...
BUT
Maybe her being a diabetic made me realize that I was cheating here and there.....but not much......Like that delicious peanut butter fudge that was out of this world...even if I do say so myself....I wont do that again for a while.....I SWEAR.......
Two pair of my new shorts I tried on and I thought OMG these arent mine....cause they are snug.....I mean TIGHT.....so I am going to try to get to where I was last summer and get those dang pants on so I wont have to buy anymore for our trip to the House of the Mouse...

nab did you see what I asked about the pocketbooks made out of a placemat.....

pumba - you're so good to help your neice!

Hi to everyone else. I'm wiped out. stressful day.

I hope everyone is doing well!
We had a bit of snow, but it went away.

Yes I did thanks I forgot to tell what a great idea that is. We will have to try that .

I hear you on summer clothes , we fool ourselves .will at least I do into thinking it is way off when really it isn't..... The dryer shrinks all my clothes, that it .....not

Peej - Hope you had a fun snow day!

Nabbie - We got a few inches of snow here. I'm telecommuting tomorrow! First time in WEEKS. My drive home wasn't too bad, but the roads were pretty snowy. Glad I don't have to make the drive tomorrow morning.

I was happy to see Melissa go below the red line tonight and finally be eliminated (did you see the look on Miggy's face?), but I didn't like the cliff hanger ending.

Pumba - My favorite place for low carb recipes that you might want to share with your niece is: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/

Even though it's geared toward people who have had weight loss surgery, she has some fantastic recipes. I especially love her crustless mini quiches (called "bites") because they're so easy to make and are quick to grab in the morning for breakfast for anyone who likes eggs. I just eat them cold on the way to work but they're easy to heat up if you prefer that. She has lots of recipes for salads and such that use various kinds of beans. Although those are higher in carbs, they have a lot of fiber that helps keep you satisfied longer.

What are you people doing to me with the weather???????? Please keep it up north, TYVM!

Just on the news, frost expected for Thursday morning! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm not used to this stuff, I have thin blood. Now I have to dig out my turtleneck sweaters again

Finally a quiet and no so stressful day today, whew! I had a hard time dragging myself to work this morning. Only snag in the day was a mandatory meeting with the entire region to listen to the earnings call over the net for Disney Q4 earnings, we had to record questions we had after to report back to the director, so that dragged out till 6, and I drove home in the dark and rain, but luckily I had my eyes fixed or I would have had to leave early. Or maybe that is not so lucky :upsidedow

I put in for a vacation day for Friday, I have 232 hours on the books, hopefully that will work out. I need a day to not have to drive in, plus I REALLY need to get nails done and take my new suit in for alterations. The pants are dragging on the ground, not goog, and the sleeves could use a bit of shortening too. I found a place online that is close to me, so I will try that.

Pumba, so nice what you are doing for your niece, but sounds soo frustrating!

Hi to everyone!
