Hey>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

anyone home???
Yep! I just got home from work. Very busy week at work for me - I had to stay late to finish up some letters.

Pumba - Good for you for getting some exercise with your niece! Is she tracking her food on-line? There are some great sites. I like the daily plate on livestrong.com. Some people prefer nutrimirror or fitday or sparkpeople . . . or just journaling by hand using a calorie/nutrition book.

Allie - How's your DD doing this evening? I might need to use that sleeping in my clothes trick Friday night! :rolleyes1

Marita - I'm a little worried about being able to get up on time on Saturday :headache: Especially since I have made plans for Friday night. It sure can be a pain not being a morning person sometimes, but there's no way I can go to sleep any earlier. I've tried several times.

thanks so much for those sites......i will look them over too ...cause we all need a little help....ROFL

she likes her carbs to much....she would have a bowl of cereal just for the heck of it two or three times a day........she drinks way to much milk.......two gallons on her own a week..
Tomorrow we are going to try two miles......

have a good night everyone

Pumba that is me. I like to have a bowl of cereal at night ...And I too drink a lot of milk. That is one thing I missed when I had to cut way back when I had gestational diabetes.

I didn't sleep well last night so I have been out of sorts today. Yet another problem with Nicholas. I tell you I am not going to make it though these teen years. :sad2:

Moo-- I was hoping Melissa was going home last night. So close. I didn't like Miggy last week but this week I really liked her. Can't believe she did all that walking the day after surgery.

Do you get an extra day off for going in on Saturday? 6:30 in the morning at that. Why so early?

Nabbie - I was also hoping Melissa would get the boot last night. I was sad it was John, but it looked like he and his brother were going to push each other so that may be good for them. It really surprised me that it was Miggy who had the medical problem but she sure did bounce back well. Hopefully she'll get a chance to get back at the red team before too long!

On Saturday, I have to be at a community advisory group retreat that is being held 2 hours away by 8:30. I'll drive over to my co-worker's house and he'll drive to the retreat (thank goodness! because I plan on napping part of the way there) ;) At least he's more of a morning person than I am.

Pumba - Some cereals have a lot of carbs. Milk is pretty high in sugar. Maybe she could switch to a protein-based snack? Like nuts or jerky. Or a protein bar? I really like the Healthwise high protein hot cocoa which is available on-line. And it has sucralose instead of aspartame.

Morning all,

Tried to snow over night but we didn't get much thank goodness.

Today is Beach day for the kids. Hard to think of beach day when iti is -10 out. It is also Mass day at the school so I will get to see the kids all dressed up. Hat day was yesterday. Good thing Mass wasn't that day.

Pumba-- I should get back on track myself with spring and summer around the corner, I can't hid behind my big sweaters and coat.

we walked two and a half miles today......she has big expectations of losing and I told her to do little steps ...so I told her lets work on ten lbs. and see what happens...I was with her from eleven till three and I got us lunch. She said it was satisfying ...She drank three big bottles of water and went to see my ladies room four times.......hahaha.....I do feel good about this too......I want to see her not get diabetes with insulin...cause if she doesnt lose some weight and start eating right she will need to. She is such a good kid...she is 37 but still a good kid...

Have to go and do our grocery shopping now but I would rather undress and veg....my legs are ready to sit back and relax them...

Moo..I told her that cereals taht she is eating are high in carbs and she didnt have the allotted one cup it was more like a bowl full....I did tell her that she needs to sink her teeth into foods so she will let her brain know she is eating....

Kashi go lean is really low in carbs and high in protein.
too bad you all don't have kroger up there - it's a grocery chain down here.
They have yogurt with 4 carbs (one of those is fiber) and 12 grams of protein.
I mix kashi cereal with yogurt and have breakfast with 25 grams of protein, hardly any carbs but lots of dietary fiber!

/
Pumba - Good going today with your niece!

Cel - I agree! That Kroger Carbmaster yogurt is pretty good and very low carb. But it's hard for me to find the flavors I like in stock, so I haven't had any for a while. Greek yogurt is pretty high in protein, but I don't like the flavor as well and they don't seem to make it with artificial sweetener.

Nabbie - Did you see that Danny C. is going to be on The Doctors tomorrow? It looks like they are going to work with him on getting a tummy tuck because he has a ton of loose skin from losing all that weight so fast.

Moo -- I will have to check that out tomorrow. Danny did lose a lot of weight, I am sure he has a lot of skin to get rid of.

We don't have any of the food that you are talking about here but the Kashi cereal. When we were in the U.S last summer I did like the Yoplait dessert yogurt. I am sure there was a ton of sugar in those but loved the apple turnover one. We don't have that here at all.

sounds like some of you might need a diet food shipment.

Super busy week this week, with forecast and getting ready for a big presentation to executives on Monday.
How many times can you revise a Powerpoint deck? Endlessly.... Everybody has a different opinion :sad2: Been working late every week. Hopefully after Monday it will get better.

Allie - How's your DD doing this evening? I might need to use that sleeping in my clothes trick Friday night! :rolleyes1

Moo - She has recovered very well. Went back to school on Wed., and did fine. DS had a make up basketball game last night AFTER church. Late night, but she did great. Finished up her project that is due tomorrow, plus it is dress like the 50's tomorrow for Social Studies. It is raining cats and dogs, so I will be taking her to school tomorrow, so that the project doesn't get wet while waiting for the bus. :scared:

Allie-- glad she is feeling better, can I switch her with Nicholas. She sounds like a great kid. We have yet another project to in a few weeks. Do you think he has started ....no.

It is suppose to be mild today with it getting colder on the weekend. It was nice yesterday too. Hope the winter holds out like this but I know it can't.

Today is pajama day and Winter Carnival. Not much snow out there for that. You can't even make a snow ball. Hannah doesn't even want to take her snow pants but I believe her bottoms will still get all wet.

Hi everybody.

I don't know if you guys heard or not but there is a little football game on Sunday. lol

The kids school had COLTS day today. So they were all decked out in their jerseys and hats. I think I will be wearing my Peyton Manning jersey today too.

I'm going to go meet my mom for lunch. She is holding up very well during her treatments. She's really, really tired but she's so strong. I am in awe of her.

On a sad note, Dumbo, Julia's hamster died last night. She was so sad. She loved that little guy. RIP Dumbo.:guilty:

Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend. I'm working a 12 hour shift tomorrow and then Sunday I have NO plans. ;)

I do not watch football but on Ellen today she had people competing for tickets. I thought it was a rerun because I thought football was done. :lmao :Well I know now that it is Saints vs Colts. Poor Dumbo, pets are hard to lose.

Moo-- I did watch the Doctors. Danny is still wearing that griddle thing to hold in all the extra skin. He has man breasts too. The Doctors are going to do his surgery for him. They showed what he ate before and what he eats now. He still looks good.

babycow - your mom is in my prayers every day. I'm glad to hear she's holding up well.

To everyone else - Hi! :flower3:

Hey folks, could you please pray for the Brown family? I do not know this family, but their 14 year old son, Todd, was shot and killed in one of our middle schools today by another student. It is a senseless killing. He shot him in the back of the head while changing classes. I cannot imagine the grief that family is experiencing right now.

Thank you. :littleangel:

Allie, so sad about that boy, the worst thing that can happen to a parent! Always makes me so sad when I hear about a child dying.

Quiet day here today. Hope Moo made it to bed at a decent hour for her meeting tomorrow. I know I would have a really hard time with that.

I logged 58 hours this week (no extra pay), but I really worked a lot more. Big meeting with VP and several execs on Monday. I have NO busines suits anymore :scared1: I need to go shopping this weekend. PLUS get nails done, EEK!
I tried looking online for buniness pant suits, without much luck. Any suggestions? I have a couple of old good jackets in red that would look great with my black pants (not wearing skirts anymore) but they have been hanging in the closet for a long time and too late to get them cleaned. Not that anybody would really notice what I am wearing, LOL!
At any rate, the lack of any decent business suits is bugging me, so I have to hit the road this weekend and get 1 -3.
Wish me luck!

...so sorry, a~disney~g., it's a terrible loss , for all of us.

{ on aside note..it's soooo upsetting hearing about our schools &

...."the hands off" policy. } common sense seem so scarce these
days, and the tragedy just keep on piling up. when are we going
to recognize the values....of teaching our children..the things they
need to know.....to live life well?

...also fyi, our facility ..has long been a dumping ground, from around
the country. [ we get the worst of the worst. ] however, the "good"
thing...about this, meant we have been challenged to produced
...the interventions that can help the worst of the worst. but
maybe, just maybe.....we wouldn't be so busy if some of the "dick &
jane"...stories were taught again....when they could have made a
difference.

the thing..that bugs me most, the solutions/problems solving, &
corrective measures...are so easy...even a cave man could do it!
even better...are the wonderful results they can produced.

as you all know, & especially nabby girl [ she read my trip reports}
...i' m far from prefect....very far. :rolleyes1. however, it does not
matter...the mental health presentations...works! except 3 type
of conditions...1] organic 2] brain injuries #] those not wanting
to improve.

tonight..the other rn came to me...after admitting a new pt. . he
needs your "talk"...., i knew exactly what she was refering to. @
first, i had to listened how much he didn't need to be here. &
he was panicky....finally i got to do my pt. ed.., sometimes..i 'm
amazed...how much common sense can help. simple little facts
of life....

...it so upsetting to hear life wasted. especially how easy "dangerous
behaviors" could be prevented. i really feel bad for the parents.
[ i don't how i would feel..nor would i want to. ever. ]

so sorry for dumbo.:flower3: [ we have many g. pigs...that are getting
pretty old] . our dogs are always trying to get them. but they don't even
wink.

i 'm guessing..you're getting ready...for the colts big day? :thumbsup2

oh..did you hear?...vaccines not related to autism, so maybe..we need
to ...go back..to the old ways of doing labor & delivery? now that's an

 ..ha, ha. ha.

[ oh, fyi...don't think...i am not using... my favorite intervention ( reality
orientation)........toward our ongoing dvc problems. for example, what
is wrong...with a non member, having 2 revs..@ our home resort, when
we we were unable to get one during christmas time? it's "corrective
measure" time! [ obviously , some have figured out ways to break
the rules. well someone..needs to help disney..to plug these loopholes,
or in this case...a racket. ]

some dvc people must be confused. they post, the rules ..about going
up on the tower lounge...then they get upset when a cm tries to redirect
them...., then they post "how they were mistreated"..& get upset
when some hint .."around" their rude/poor a.. behaviors. then he has the
audacity to claim, " they let..me , & only just asking? right,,,,we
that stupid?! poor cm, ..took alot verbal abuse..wanta bet? :sad2:

this keeps up...i m going to end..being a dvc expert , weather or snot!

speaking of..weather, can you believe it?, snow in feb.?

do you gals..think...my lil'cutie..means it when she told me not to get
her anything for sweeyie day? that ..what i thought....getting to old..for
kiddies' games, but i still ...her. [ maybe a pink ice scraper?

psst did you see my mew signature..well, i did it for her, :love2:

Allie-- how sad for the family. Scary world we live in when you can't even send you kids to school and think they will be safe there.

Marita-- I do not own a business suit either. I do not own very many dressy clothes period. I do have a basic pair of black dress pants that get a lot of use. Good luck on your shopping spree.

Lil'g-- I tell hubby that too I really don't want anything for Valentine's Day. When we were dating I came home to find my apartment decorated with hearts and flowers. But the best thing for me is the little notes he leaves me. Or a stuff animals or pictures moved around to mean something. Now that gets me to smile. But like you know chocolate can't hurt either.....unless one is on a diet at the time. Then you might just get said chocolate over the head.

Moo-- hope your retreat is interesting enough to keep you awake.

Off to the in laws today. The sun is shining, great day for the long ride.

Have a Great Saturday everyone!

Nice day here, 70's and sunny, a bit windy though.

After staying up till after 1am last night, I woke up at 7:45 and couldnt go back to sleep. What's up with that? Maybe I was having sympathy pains for Moo :rotfl:

Trying to get myself worked up to go clothes shopping... DD suggested Burlinton Coat factory. Nothing on the website even related to business suits, but she assured me they have them, so I'll go take a look. If not there, I might head to DIllards, they had a suit I liked on the website plus they have a big sale going on, but's on the other side of town (well, not quite, but a ways away.) so i might not make it. PLUS, I HAVE to get nails done this weekend, blahhhh! At least I discovered a new place that is open on Sunday, so I can do that tomorrow.

Have I mentioned I HATE shopping as much as Pumba hates the white stuff?

UPDATE: I'm back, bought 3 suits and a really nice knit sweater for $151!!!
