LilG, wow, some story. So glad you were able to help that:hug: poor man

Nab, we don't fly out till Monday, so some time yet, I have to shop some, get nails and eyebrows done. clean the house, pack and do some last minute work stuff.
We decided to extend the booking in the center of town hotel till Friday, then we were planning to move to the city we fly back home from, but hotels are like Goldilocks, none were just right, LOL. So now im thinking we stay in my home town till Sunday early morning, Saturday is really the only day my brother and SIL will be off anyway. We'll see, I have to call tomorrow.

Pumba, chips for trick or treat? :scared1: The kids must hate you, LOL.
Oh, that reminds me, I dont know if we have any yet. It's the last thing on my mind right now.

Have a great weekend, everyone

Marita...these are individual bags of doritos and the kids love getting them. The grandkids and my rug rats are getting big bags of chips or cheese popcorn that isnt popcorn...
But I know those dingalings down the street.....they are as tall as I am and they are RUDE....but will give them something that way they wont get even...so dum dums for them.....

My dil just called and I guess she is coming over and we are going OUT....havent got a clue where but we are going someplace.....I have to do a beef stew at threeish and the doggie needs me then too so we will have to be back by then..

have to get the exercise bike ready to go to my neighbors house.....it has 8 miles on it total...but my knees are not happy with biking.....so I am giving it to a good home....the two (big boys) will come and get it as it is wicked heavy.....good condition ...

hope you all have a great weekend and Marita...if I dont "see" ya before you leave......my wings will be with you as you fly to your family.....peace:hippie::grouphug:

ok? who 's a duffy character?

....it's good to share. one responsibility of advance nursing, is
health education...& we really need to make the public aware so
they can manage & make the right choices.

* how bad?.....to really understand the implications, all you
need to do, is read the icu nurses' observations. :rolleyes1,

.....once he got medical treatments, from yesterday, resting comfortable
in bed, cooperative, alert & "oriented." think about this....., they
admitted a very sick, medical pt., to a psych unit. :scared1:

because he was old.

i am not done "hollowing" this. {@ work}

"reality orientation"...is just wonderful tool. [ it seem i am finding new
usages for it every day.]

...when i retire ,i am considering doing 2 things. writing a manual on
basic human dynamics...application for new nurses but as you know,
"the dynamics of life are useful tools for all ages & toward getting
tyhe most out of life. [ over & over, i can't believe what is so
evident in making life better , is also over look. it simply repeating
the interacting between human beings & the world we live in.
it kills me, things, things are bad, but the solutions are very,
simple & easy....things that nearly everyone "knows" but for what
ever reasons, forget about them. ]. second, outline my experiences
to the state board, so they understand some of the abuse nurses
are forced to tolerate. [ as you can guess..i left out the de~tails. ]

these things need to be exposed to prevent patients from suffering.

liked i mentioned before, i ,was very privileged to have some of
the best tutors while in the military. they were old-fashioned
rns' that knew how to do "nursing".

"ways of thinking" is a part of mental heath, as it is with every day
living. [ i was using it long before entering psych.] anyhoo, another
rn taking an art class for her degree, was required to write a paper
on this painting of a train station. so she asked me what i thought...
as soon as i look at it, i responded, don't you get it?...look @ "what"
he doing.....he painted the "view" as if you're not on the ground,
but 20 feet up. write that. not only did she get an A+ , but he made
a copy of her paper for other students to follow. [placed in ou 's
library.]....as you know , i am not that smart, but i do know how
to think. in life, there are kinds of people with a wide/wild range
of differences, however, the baseline is the same no matter where
anyone go.

enough work, pumba?...my hunting buddy, saw 2 monster bucks
over on our land [ out in the country.] have you been in the woods
lately?

does anyone else thinks mp's lil'girl is her carbon copy?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Our pumpkins are done and still on the porch thank goodness. You never know what the kids will do on the night before and it being a Saturday night too.

Hannah is going to be a cow and Nicholas Mkie Meyers from the Halloween movies. Nicholas wasn't going to go out this year but he found this costume at Walmart and needed one for the dance so he will take Hannah out and I am sure get candy for himself. :laughing:Thsi is the first year in a long time hubby is working. But I wouldn't be surprised if he comes home early ...

I have my pumpkin shirt , that I got in Michigan,( never find one here in adult size) and my withc hat to hand out candy.

It is going to be a cold night too. It is a cold morning the windows are steamed up and not just the bathroom....

Off to drop Nicholas off at church, for his job, get Hannah from camp ( about 1/2 hour away ) then back to church were they both serve today. Run, run , run...

my little grandkids came for the afternoon and they got their bags of salt and vinegar chips......they were so excited.....
Waiting for my neighbors rat (yah my brat one) to come...I got three dum dums and wrapped a dollar bill around it.....he will like that.
The rest better wait until after I eat supper......NOTHING Interrupts my supper..

I made a beautiful apple pie and already ate a piece of it....DELICIOUS....I have to admit this one was great.......done to perfection..
HOPE you all have a great Halloween and no tricking anyone.

Hannah went as a cow....

Moo gave the kids this pirate face....and the other pumpkins the kids did at home and school..... Would have been better if the hat was right on top but they picked all the pumpkins with big stems.

We got 122 trick or treaters this year. The best costume went to a toddler that was the red car from Cars. The banana dude came in second , he was a hoot. Lots of witches this year.

I gave out big tootie rolls and Disney playing cards to the little ones.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! It was a pretty low key day for us. We don't get any trick-or-treaters, so we went shopping in Ann Arbor and at Cabela's this afternoon. We stopped at a couple wineries on the way and had dinner in my favorite deli in AA before coming home.

Nabbie - Hannah looks SO cute in her cow costume!!! And Nicholas looks scary. The pirate face looks great the way you have it on your pumpkin -- I like the off-center hat!!!

The hair stylists at the salon where I got my hair cut last night had some fantastic costumes. One of the stylists was dressed like a zombie and he had this creepy dee contact lens in one eye that was white with a black pupil. Yikes!

Marita - Are you leaving for Germany tomorrow? If so, safe travels and I hope all goes well :grouphug:

I just had the most horrible thought! A week in a hotel without a fridge and without ice. WTH are we going to drink? Luke warm beer and water?

Leaving for the airport at noon tomorrow, I thought it was earlier, but guess not.

I'm taking my laptop, so I may or may not check in, depending on wifi availabilty.

NAB, love the cow costume, LOL

Safe travels Marita

Thought last night was cold, we had frost last night. Brrrr walking the kids to school. It was hard getting them out of bed this morning.

Now I guess I a better get in the Christmas mood. I know you guys have to get though Thanksgiving first. There is a lady down the street that has her Christmas tree up and lit the day after Halloween. Maybe she decorates it between Trick or Treaters. :lmao:

Off to find my scraper, have to get some movies back and the kids are complaining there is no food in the house.

safe travels to you Marita and your family. We are there with you....but we didnt have to go thru customs....:cloud9:

The cow costume is awesome. I love it......and the pumpkins are great. If we did pumpkins they would be down the street..or should I say up and down the street smashed to pieces...
We enjoyed last night even if it was FREEZING out.....snow in alot of places in Maine.....The neighbor teens were sitting on the porch with HORRIBLE faces and costumes and had their buckets of candy to give out and a new neighbor sat on her porch with a big bucket of candy...I introduced myself and welcomed her to the neighborhood........she even gave me a piece of candy.....nice neighborhood of kiddos too.....some very polite

HEY YOU GUYS...

Today is a gorgeous day outside......COLD but simply beautiful (from the inside looking out)......tonight the temps will be in the low 20's...already can you believe that....last week we had two days in the 70's and then whammo...

I am sitting here eating a piece of my apple pie.......I warmed it up a little and then a glob of vanilla ice cream........I LOVE IT..

so whats new everyone....lets post our news here and get this off page 4

Not much new here Pumba.

Spent the day cleaning yesterday. It was frosty as was this morning. I used that excuse not to go rake and clean some more of my flowerbeds in the back yard. But the sun is out now and the frost gone so guess I should at least get it started . Need hubby to cut down a dead sand cherry tree for me.

Nicholas get to check out the high school tomorrow and gets Grade 8 grad pictures taken on Thursday. Where did the time go.....

Oh Nab....time does fly so fast....it really does....

I think that 20s is to cold for the first part of this month....we should be having low 50's and I would be happier..

We went and voted and then brought home some pizza....delicious and I didnt have to cook....

I wonder what the rest of the week will bring.....I would love to not set my alarm and sleep in....but havent had that option lately.....even on the weekend, Megara decided that staring at me would make me open my eyes and geesh she was right....

How long does it take for Marita to get to Germany......I dont like flying so going to Disney is only three or so hours.....I hate that part.......going up and coming down.......HECK....and everything in between.......hate it but its the only way to go someplace fast..

guess I should take something out of the deep freeze (dont mean outdoors) and have it for tomorrows supper..

have a good night everyone

Chilly day here too, but at least I didn't have to work!

Hubby and I went out and voted this morning, then I spent the afternoon at a crafting get-together with friends. Lots of wonderful food and conversation!!!

Moo-- you didn't have to work because it was voting day? That is a nice perk.

It is cold again this morning. The coldest yet at -7 . I am not ready for the cold. I want to be a snowbird.... They were calling for rain but the sun is shining right now.

Volunteering at the school today. It is pizza day and I will be handing out milk and pizza. Nicholas will be at the high school so I will eat his slices, I paid for them in advance anyway.

Hannah joined the junior band this year. She wants to play the clarinet, but so do about 10 other people she said. Wonder what she will get. Hopefully not the tuba like Nicholas.

Yep, Nabbie - we had the day off for voting :goodvibes

If Hannah's band is like most, they usually have a bunch of clarinets!

morning.

Poor dog......I was patting her and I thought I felt something so I made her go to the bathroom so I could shut the door and got the magnifying glass out and looked....so then I got the tweezers and picked it out......I guess I made her bleed for nothing.....it was a scab on her leg......oh well.....I have no idea what I would of done with a tick......I couldnt scream or shut my eyes.....eewwwwwwwww...well anyways....put antibiotic cream on it and we are good to go.

Had a good sleep but didnt want to get up anyways...we gain an hour soon

DO THE CLOCKS before you go to bed on Saturday night.......

I am looking forward to that extra hour sleep!

Nicholas liked the high school but we will still check out the public one too that is closer to us then the Catholic one.

There class got back earlier so they played soccer. Bad for Nicholas he fell again! This time he hurt his leg, I was hoping he would walk it off but he woke up this morning still limping and complaining it hurts. It is his shine some where between his knee and ankle. So I may be heading to the clinic again today. :sad2: I am going to bann him from soccer, his legs are so long and he can't control them.

Oh I hope he is okey.....could it be shin splints .. our daughter would get those when she was running too..

We had that option too of the catholic school vs public and after they spent five years at the parochial one we switched to public. they had more programs for the kids and helped with their academics to get into colleges......I know weird.....but good..

Hope you dont have to go to the clinic Nab........let us know how he makes out.

Wonder what Marita is doing now.........Hope she is able to visit and enjoy some of her stay ...even with funeral services...
