Lynette - Hope you and the kidlets have a better tomorrow and weekend! Just wait until Boris is old enough to have a real girlfriend!!! ;) The dynamics of that sure can be interesting.

I probably have mentioned this before, but it looks like Mari's new boyfriend will be joining us on our Hilton Head vacation. Looking forward to getting to know him a little better. I've been trying really hard not to be a nosy mom, so I haven't been bombarding Mari with all the questions I'd really like to ask her

Nabbie - Good thing that Hannah won't be starting to go to those dances soon. I think you're right about Daris's hair. It'll be SO interesting to see how he ends up looking. I hope they do something cool with Sunshine's hair too.

No WDW plans in my immediate future, although I received a pin code mailer in my BFF's name recently. I don't think I'll ever do the regular free dining again, although the quick service plan might not be as bad.

Marita - Sounds like you're having a little more fun with this job! Interested post on your DD's page.

Twink - Hello, prairie dweller! Team Umizoomi sounds kinda cool. Never heard of it before. Yay, math! And I liked your post about the girls' 10 week after the birthday surprise party party:

Are you still doing the lower carb diet post-baby? A couple people in my office are doing some kind of de-tox diet. Lots of fruits and veggies. One of them who tried and tried to lose weight on Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem is doing great on it. 12 lbs -- she was ecstatic. I need to chat with her a bit more about it. But I will probably just keep doing what I've been doing since it seems to work. I'm losing fairly slowly lately, but it's still coming off. I'm within a pound of 150 lbs lost now! Guess I need to post an updated photo.

MOO......slow in losing ......means better chances of it staying off......some of these new fangled diets are not good for us.
WW or the diabetic diet is the healthiest way to lose. I can have 30 carbs per meal......but a person taller and bigger bones then I am (5 2) can have up to 45 per meal......and snacks in between to keep the blood sugars from dropping....so a 15 in between is good.

We had wicked high winds yesterday too......blew things all around us including those dang snow flurries.....I did mention that I hate snow didnt I...ESPECIALLY at the May 1st Mark.

I remember the days when boys would be calling the house too....and I remember the days when the girls would call too...

Our son was an ***'t manager at a 7/11 store ...he was a junior in high school.....yes he was an asst mg because....he was the only one that could figure out the books.......so anywhoooo.......one Saturday night a girl came to the door .....blonde (bottled job we think) spike hills and picked him up in her mustang.......she was taking him to a dance spot in the next town over......Now we thought......OMG she is to old for him.....did she pick him up at the store........hahaha.....HAVE FUN MOMMIES AND DADDIES.

Lynt: thanks for the FD update, maybe I can sway my DH and make it a WDW trip.

Moo: Yes, I need to see an updated pic.

Pumba: Will you take house guests? LOL, Congrats.

I got to see Temple Grandin speak at a conference yesterday, (google and you will be amazed). Open my eyes to so much and so did DH. Makes me feel empowered and hopeful. Her HBO special will come out on DVD in August. I can't wait, cause I don't have HBO and I do like Claire Danes; she plays Temple in the movie.

LilG: Temple said that she misses her role model days, you know, The Lone Ranger, and hates today's role models (I'm not a big fan either).

I signed the IEP, requested an ISD consult, and had to already tell the student service supervisor that a teacher flat out told my son she wouldn't allow him to turn finished work in early (He loses EVERYTHING) which is an accomodation in his IEP.

What his teachers need to realize is yes, I want him to be organized AND responsible for this things. At 13, it is ideally logical that he should be. But due to his disability and due to only getting the correct intervention now, he is not. We have to work with him, before he can work on his own. It just takes a little time.

If my son did not have this organization issue, I can bet that he'd be on the honor roll. The stuff he does turn in is average to above average, the rest are zero's due to him not turning in his completed work.

Oh, did I mention he is 5'10" barefoot, at 13?

I was finally, OFFICIALLY at 150 lbs gone today!!!

Pumba - I have definitely been losing more slowly the last few months. I follow my doctor's/nutritionist's recommendations - a minimum of 60 grams of protein, but they told me to up that to at least 70-80 grams at my one year appointment. I try to stay under 100 grams carbs for the day. I'm supposed to be at 1200 calories, but I go a bit over that on most days, especially when I work out.

Mony - Glad you made it through your IEP OK. Some of my friends have to deal with an accommodation for their son (he has a spatial learning issue, not Asperger's, and takes Adderall) and it has been a major chore. I'll try to post an updated photo in the next week :)

Forgot to say hello to Lil G yesterday. Don't sweat the small stuff with the DVC boards. It's just now worth it!!! :lmao:

Moo, congrats on the 150, woohoo! :cool1: fabulous!

We had our monthly analyst meeting today, and it was my partners (for one more week) turn, so she arranged Top of the World Lounge for this afternoon at 3:15 and also a room key to show a room,
At about 1:15, I was tired as all get out, don't know why, but I needed to move around, so I suggested we get the key from the front desk and try it out. Good thing we did!

First it took the manager a while to cut the key. It was supposed to work for the room (2 BR lockoff) and to the 16th floor for the lTW lounge.
Well, it worked fine for the studio part of the lockoff, but not the connecting 1 BR, the connecting door was locked, and not at all to the 16th floor. So back we went to the Front Desk, then back to BLT with 2 keys, this time we got it to work and got back to the office at 2:30 and left 20 minutes later to meet everyone. Good thing I thought to do it early!
Next week is forecast week (again!), after that my partner is gone and I am in charge with my new assistant. Just in time for budgets!

Mony, good luck with your son, sounds like at least you have plan now, I don't think I would want to get in your way, LOL. 5'10 is certainly tall at 13, LOL, my son didnt even make it there at 30.

And I just want to say - TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOO and Lil'G, forgot to say, if you stay at BLT, be sure to go up to TOW, only open for members STAYING ON POINTS, BUT a great lounge on the 16th floor with awesome views all around, you can see fireworks, even some from Epcot and I hear you can even see Universal and Seaworld. Plus they have h'oeur d'oeuvres (?), flatbreads and such.

Marita - Mari and I did go up to the TOWL when we were there last September. I really liked it, but couldn't talk my hubby into going up there. He was more into relaxing in the room. He probably would have freaked out at the cost of the drinks anyway, but the one I had was delish. Mari and I didn't get any food while we were up there, but we did enjoy the view, especially over the pool area and Bay Lake. We had MK view, so we could see the fireworks from our balcony and we watched them a couple times :thumbsup2

I don't think I'd pay the points in the future for MK view though, so going up to the TOWL might be more attractive next time.

I hear you, Moo! You want to know something that just blew all our minds?
Over New Years week, the average room rate from renters was $701 a DAY!! I just can't imagine paying that :scared1:

/
I can believe it, Marita. I wouldn't want to pay that much either. That's why I bought into DVC. It'll take me a while to pay it off, but not that much more per year than what I've paid for WDW hotel stays during past vacations. Once it's paid off, just paying maintenance fees will make it really reasonable.

On the other hand, I don't really enjoy going to WDW at the busiest times of the year, but some people are kind of locked into that due to their jobs or kids' schedules and have to pay the big bucks if they want to stay on-site.

Moo-- :woohoo: on 150 pounds lost. How is your sister doing now?

Marita-- I love the perks of your job. Wouldn't want to do the actually job though.

Mony-- like the others said glad your getting help. My son who is turning 13 in 8 days is 5'10 too so I know what you mean. Towers over me at 5'5.

The sun is shining so far but they are calling for rain today and tomorrow.

Have lots of running to do today. Hannah is going on a sleepover to the neighbours trailer to open it for the season. Nicholas and I will be getting his hair cut, taking his suit pants to be let down, or maybe I will have to buy him new ones. That chore isn't going to be fun. Then he has baseball practice.

Neighbour beside us is having a birthday party today so they set up a Wall E jumping castle.....at 7:00 on a Saturday morning. With their three boys jumping and screaming in it to try it out ....... :headache:

Better get moving. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

GOOD MORNING! HAPPY DERBY DAY! :sunny:

Do you mind a drive-by post from a long lost moover?

Hope all is well with all of you! News here: divorce is final. Kids and I are still happy in our cute little cottage. Emily has her learner's permit and is jonesin' to take the test for a 'real' license. But. I know what it would do to my insurance rates and since her father isn't helping us financially, I just can't do it. So she's looking for a job. DS is doing well and has grown about a foot and gained 20 pounds since school started last year. He's gonna be a BIG one. Now about me: I've got a boyfriend! I KNOW! Been seeing a guy I dated in college and have never been happier. He's turned out to be a fine adult and a great dad. I'm keeping him. :) Can't tell you how nice it is to be cared for after living in the 'love void' for so many years.

Here's me ------> :love:

So the new man has never been to Disney World! And neither has his son! We must remedy this situation! (I need to read Twink's trip report?) Anyway, I'm scoping out free dining on the codes boards. We now have direct flights Lexington to Orlando via Airtran so it could happen. Has anybody been following the "premium for one night" thread. Those people have a great plan to suck the value out of a one-night package. It's tempting.

We had tickets to the Derby today but sold them as they were in a outside box. Look at the weather forecast for Loo-uh-vull. Double not good. We're going to Keeneland instead where we can valet park, eat buffet, have a waitress, and watch the races via simulcast. It's a plan!

MOOOOOO!!! Congratulations on the weight loss, babe! You're my hero!

Take care, everybody! Message me anytime on FB!

:flower3:

Lexi good to see you ....you need to come around more often.

:woohoo: on the new boyfriend. Glad you are so happy, you deserve it! Hope you can find a "cheap" if there is such a thing to WDW.

It is now pourning out. Maybe baseball practice will be cancelled. Nicholas cost me an arm and leg today shopping. We had to go get new pants, the other ones were way to short to let down. A new baseball helmet, his head grow too. Socks, special shampoo because he has dry scalp, a hair cut and lunch ....I am broke now.

Off to start this :laundy:

Well, looky-looky! All sorts of prodigal Moovers poppin' in! YAY!

Congrats, Melinda, on all the progress going on down there in Melindaland! :woohoo: Care to tell us more about the BF? popcorn::

Moo, congrats to YOU on 150 lbs lost! You must feel fabulous!

Marita, you sound SO much happier at this job than when you were at your last one. Hope that's how you're feeling!

NAB, I feel your pain on the expensive shopping trips. In this house, it's Natasha who costs me an arm and a leg. Justice for Girls is of the devil, I tell you...they're out to bankrupt me!

Mony, how is your son feeling about all this new information? Relieved? Anxious? He's lucky to have you as his advocate!

Pumba, got any photos of this new place of yours?

Everybodeeee else: :flower3:

Melinda........everyone deserves to be happy and I wish for you and your family the happiest of times....YET TO COME.....

I do have photos of this place...realtor finally sent them to us......but dang if I know how to get them anyplace....

allergies have not been kind to me this week.......right now it looks like a thunderboomer coming......it was warm today and just think it snowed on thursday.......go figure.......if yu dont like the weather in Maine.....just wait a few.....

Thanks, Lex! And I'm SO happy to hear your good news too!

Lynette and Nabbie - I do feel fabulous!!! It's nice having so much more energy. I just bought a kettlebell this week and am trying out Alysia Gadson's kettlebell bootcamp at http://livefitrevolution.com. It is quite a workout. I couldn't get the first video to play, so I just went ahead and did the second one tonight. Whew!

My sister Diane is a little over a week out from having her weight loss surgery. She's doing pretty well, but is getting tired of just being on liquids/protein drinks. She still gets exhausted pretty easily so it's a good thing she was able to take two weeks off work. Her energy level should increase at the end of next week when she can add in milk and have soft foods like yogurt, cottage cheese, sugar-free pudding, and lowfat cream soup.

Our niece's grandma passed away unexpectedly this week and my sister went to the visitation last night, but didn't have enough energy to go to the funeral today, so I went ahead and went alone and ended up sitting with my other niece and nephew (they have a different dad). It was nice to see them. Their mom (my other sister Kathy) didn't go to the funeral due to bad feelings between her and her ex-husband and his family, so the four of us went out to dinner after the funeral.

I'll probably go out to a movie with Diane tomorrow.

Lexi, great to see you, I am so happy for you!! Please stop by more often. Hope you make it to Disney!

So here is something I learned since being at this hotel. You know how hard it is supposedly to get ressies at Chef Mickey's? Well, they have like 200 no shows every meal period, and usually talk walk ins. Not something I would recommend during free dine though.

I had the most horrible nightmare this morning. Had to help out in a park (fictional dream park) and had to wear a costume with red shoes, but they didnt have shoes in my size, so I had to wear some with my toes (in white socks) sticking out about an inch out of open toed red shoes. My assignment was to work at some ride with 4 players plus a captain(?) and something/one else. They had an instruction sheet that folded out to 8 pages, printed on both sides. I kept saying,"but I don;t know this game, I cant work there" Begged to be sent somewhere else, but no dice, they insisted. Then mercifully I woke up, LOL. But it was a horrible dream:eek:

DS called today, snow in Montana was so bad, he had to be helicoptered in to his job site.

Got my nails and eyebrows done today. You know how I "love" getting nails done, but I had no choice, they didnt cut them short enough last time and typing was getting difficult.

Made the Peach pastry tonight with sugar, cinnamon and sour cream. Turned out great, although I think I will use a bit less sugar next time.
Also found a yummy looking recipe for pork sausage cheese balls online (appetizer), I might try that soon. I've been signing up for all kinds of recipe sites, LOL, and I rarely cook.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

This sounds yummy to me at the moment. Too bad it's middle of the nite, lol

3 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1 pound bulk pork sausage
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (16 ounces)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley or 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
Barbecue sauce or chili sauce, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease bottom and sides of jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x2x1 inch.
2. Stir together all ingredients, using hands or spoon. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Place in pan.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm with sauce for dipping.

Thanks for the sweet words, everyone!

I often run into IRL friends and acquaintances who (with a very serious look) ask me how things are going. When I tell them how happy I am, I am surprised how often get the exact same comment: "I'm glad you're happy. You deserve it!" :) Do you ever think that maybe God speaks through others? I like to think he does. So thanks, everyone!

RE: BF...Very intelligent, handsome, thoughtful, funny, and concerned about me AND about my kids. He likes to go out and have fun. He takes off work so we can spend the day together. He likes my cooking. He's raised (as primary custodial parent) an exceptional, well-mannered, polite 13 yr old son who excels academically and athletically. He thinks after 25 years and 3 kids that I've still got it! ;) And bonus....he's employed! My cup runneth over! :)

In other news: The monsoon lingers over central KY. I haven't heard such rain in ages! A good day for sleeping. If I weren't scheduled to bring a hash brown casserole to church today, I'd still be in bed. ;)

Moo....I know you're lovin life in that new body. I'm so happy for you. How's Mr. Moo doing? And Mari?

Marita? What's your new job? Can we talk in code? Is it at BLT?

Lynette and Nabbie.....I hate shopping for the expensive extracurricular gear! Just wait til you start paying the car insurance!

Pumba?
New place? Are you moving south??

Have a happy and blessed Sunday!

Marita? What's your new job? Can we talk in code? Is it at BLT?

Have a happy and blessed Sunday!

Sure, code it is: C-O-N-T, including BLT.

Glad to hear you happy, that new guy sounds awesome! Please don't be a stranger.

I was working on some shortcuts for system input this afternoon, and I think I stumbled into a hornets nest  Nothing too awful, but but things need investigating to see whats going on, like no charges for telephone and internet for something. Luckily we have another month before we lock in forecast for next year's base assumptions. This is probably Greek to you all, LOL.

Really should go to get my wine supply for the next 2 weeks, but I don't wanna go out . But, it being forecast week, I will be extremely busy for the next few days and I hate going shopping at the best of times, especially after work, so I think I have to bite the bullet.
Plus I have do some of this :laundy: yet

Hope everyone is having a great day!

PS: Watching Yours, Mine and Ours on TV, the original one with Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball. Great Sunday afternoon movie.

Hey all! Dropping in cuz marita said if I'm bored, I should say hi. Duh. Makes sense when she says it!
The problem is facebook tells me all I need to know - I already knew Melinda had dropped by - I knew Amanda has new cats, I knew Nancy Drew surprised her girls, etc. Sorry I haven't been around. I'll try to be better.

staying one step ahead of the ants that invade my kitchen, yada yada yada.
How do you keep ahead of them? I have ants in my kitchen. HATE THEM!

Lastly, (but FAAAAAR from least, methinks!) Boris "has it on good authority" -- his words-- that a classmate, Zoe, has a crush on him. He has had a crush on her for a while, but hasn't said anything about it to anyone but me. He and I had a long talk tonight about whether he should tell her. He decided to play it cool for a while and see how things play out. I think this is where I develop a tic and start to speak only in singsong whispers. HELP!

Ack! Hayden frequently has "boyfriends," but they don't last long and she doesn't talk to them on the phone, just texts them some.

Forgot to mention the monsoon - my family is fine, but things are pretty bad here. Keep everyone in your prayers.

Cel....go to walmart and get the terra stuff for the dang ants........because you have pets, put it under something or behind something so the doggies or animals cant get to it.....we put ours behind the couch and next to the wall by the fridge.....we have not had any issues since we did this.......love a good ant worker.....

Marita.....I watched Yours mine and ours too.....naturally I cried at the end like I always do....

Hugs to you all

Hi Celery-- you know more than me.... I don't go to face book that often. Stay safe and dry. It has been really humid here today. Almost put the air on but didn't. All the window are open though.

Texting is evil. Only because I can't see what Nicholas is writing to others and vis versa.

I have gotten addicted to Family Feud though. :lmao:

Lexi-- Your new man sounds great. I see you are still cooking for the church. Yummy.
