How do you keep ahead of them? I have ants in my kitchen. HATE THEM!

Ack! Hayden frequently has "boyfriends," but they don't last long and she doesn't talk to them on the phone, just texts them some.

Forgot to mention the monsoon - my family is fine, but things are pretty bad here. Keep everyone in your prayers.

Cel, Big Daddy buys some stuff at Home Depot to spray the whole outside perimeter of the house, since we are inundated every spring too. Blech! I could ask him the name, if you think it might help. They're awful, aren't they? :scared:

Well, since I am such a mean mom :rolleyes1, neither of my kids has a cell phone. So no texting OR calling. They are only allowed to use the house phone with prior permission.

I saw several news stories about your rainstorms. Yikes! Consider yourself prayed for (family too)! Hope your property hasn't received any damage. Stay safe!

Sometime yesterday, a 10ft water main broke in a town near Boston. As a result, 38 local communities have a boil-water/limit useage order that began yesterday. Initially, my town was included on that list of communities, but late yesterday the town manager switched to the town's secondary water source, so we are able to drink the water without having to boil it now. Gah. Lots of communities have called off school for tomorrow, and many businesses have had to close down. A friend of mine posted on FB that her neighbor had gone to a local mom-and-pop store to buy bottled water, and the store owner charged her $15.99 for a 24-pk!!!!! :scared1: Awful!

I'm addicted to Family Feud too! Although, I blame my sister for that :lmao:

Lex - Mr. Moo is doing great too. We've both lost about the same amount of weight, except that I work out and he doesn't. Dang men lose so much faster and easier, but I think I look a bit more toned and healthy. Mari is still living in NC and has a new boyfriend. They started dating on Valentine's Day. She brought him home to meet us Easter weekend (we really liked him!) and she's met his family too. I think he's probably going to come along with us on vacation to Hilton Head later this month :cool1: I was a good mama and didn't grill him when we met him, but I'm looking forward to having a chance to get to know him a little better and find out more about him. Mari seemed really happy when she was home at Easter :goodvibes

Cel - Hope you stay dry and safe!

Lynette - It's SO easy to take clean water for granted until you don't have it. Arghhh! Hope they get the water supply fixed and sanitized for all those people soon.

Lexi: I'm so HAPPY for you! And I love your way of thinking. I may just have to use that in my life. Missed you tons!

Matt's biggest concern is whether they were going to put him into special ed classes. I didn't want that and neither did the school. They have what is called directed studies, they put him in that class first hour. It's to help kids like Matt stay on track. She goes over their large assignments and breaks things down, checks to see that he is grasping instructions properly, and sends me daily emails concerning his progress.

Side note: The teacher I got upset with in the meeting over his project and his poor grade and how she failed to follow his 504, Matt told me on Friday she turned one of his zero's into a 10 out of 10. I think she did some thinking, and you know, that spoke volumes to me.

I told Matt to show his appreciation he should work hard to keep moving his grades up.

Cel: If it makes you feel any better, we've had rain for 2 days. Nothing like you though, stay safe! I had some free time and started reading your thesis the other day, but then got interrupted. I'll get to it, I like that stuff.

This hockey game is making me crazy!!!!! Go Wings!!!!

Hmm, I think this says something about our society:

On BettyCrocker.com, both most popular and most saved recipes are desserts!
MUST GO TO BED NOW! kicking and screaming....

Moo- Congrats times 150! That is amazing! I am so proud of you. In answer to your question: No. I am failing miserablely at any sort of healthy diet. I keep thinking that tomorrow will be my day. And I need to! I have cute summer clothes that I do not fit.

Lexeeee- Long lost friend!!!! Thanks for checking in and I am glad you have been MIA for the nicest of reasons. The boyfriend (gentleman caller?) sounds like quite the catch.

MommyP- I am not sure if I did the measurements right. Her head circumferance is a smidge smaller than 15.5 inches. From ear to ear, like a headband is 9.75 inches. :confused3 I had her try on some carters sunhats sized 3-9 mo. (She is wearing 3-6 mo clothes) She absolutely swam in them.

Cel-Your FB posts refering to your hometown crack me up.

The Princess is not happy- gotta run!

Mony, I knew you were gonna cave and go to Disney!!! You can always head over to Universal for a day while you're down there :)

Thanks, Twink! I still can't say enough good things about the high protein/low carb way of life. And you can still work some carbs/treats in occasionally so you don't feel deprived. I do have to admit that it's probably MUCH easier to do when you don't have to feed a family

I already went out and bought some cute new summer clothes for vacation later this month :cool1:

so you stay under 100 carbs per day. That is about what I try to do too....but I dont count them as a day but per meal type....thirty per meal or under and sometimes I go over....but try to stay as close as i can to that....mornings I dont need a snack but the time frame from lunch to supper I do....I try to keep that under 15....and then before I go to bed ...around 9pm I have to have a snack or else my morning bs is high....I think it is to bring it down...I have a piece of cheese or some peanut butter on a cracker.....Diabetes sucks.....yah I said that......feels good too to say it....

Yesterday they demolished the house across the street....and poor Megara was so upset all day.....she upchucked around noon time...all her panting and pacing and running around trying to hide did a number on her.....I called the vet and they still say that giving her a drug would just sedate her for longer then the problem would be.......yesterday was a long long day....

Will go over my list today and see what else I need to find or pack......what do I mean pack....haven't done that yet... I will though.....

hotter then anything yesterday.....can not believe this weather...it was in the 80s with high humidity.....and our AC is not in yet.....geesh.

Moo: That's mind boggling. Keep up the good work! That has to be fun picking out cute summer clothes. :)

Celery: Stay safe! We had some flash floods and stuff but nothing like you guys.

Everybody: Hi!

Sorry I would "shout out" to everybodee but I am getting ready to go on a field trip. Hope you guys have an awesome day.

Only I would get the stomach flu at the exact same time as my two daughters. Geesh, what a night!

I don't know what was worse, being sick, or the clean up. Mal just couldn't understand that her stomach pains were because she had to get sick, not sit on the toilet.

That is not supposed to happen hours after you book a disney vacation!

So, playing it safe and doing much of nothing other than laundry.

Mony - Hope you and your family are over that yuck!

bbn - I sure have been having fun getting some new clothes! I'm trying not to overdo because I'd like to pick up a couple things during vacation. And I'm keeping a look out for a cute top to wear to my class reunion this summer.

Pumba - Some of the hard core weight loss surgery people who do low carb keep it under 30-50 grams  I was that low for a little while right after surgery and the weight just falls off you, but I just didn't feel good trying to stay at such a low level once I had healed. Not enough energy.

Cel - I just watched some of the flooding video. Oh, my! Hope you are doing OK!!!

YIKES.......those are carbs for a whole day......YIKES YIKES.....
Carbs have always been called comfort items........and I agree so much.......I cried the first few weeks on my diabetic diet.....it was sad.....if I am going to have spaghetti or lasagna for a treat....like once a month.......I eat it and get over it.....I love pasta and it does not like diabetics......

our temps went down almost 20degrees today....first hot and humid and then whammo...thunder boomer and dropping temps.....it is almost cold out...:confused3
have a good night everyone

MommyP- I am not sure if I did the measurements right. Her head circumferance is a smidge smaller than 15.5 inches. From ear to ear, like a headband is 9.75 inches. :confused3 I had her try on some carters sunhats sized 3-9 mo. (She is wearing 3-6 mo clothes) She absolutely swam in them.

Measure her head from jaw to jaw and from her forehead to the back of her neck. :)

Mony - Hope everyone is well. Better to get the stomach bug hours after booking a trip than hours before leaving for a trip. :scared: Last week Kaleb got the bug, a few days later Isaac did. Then this past week Little John, my Mom and one of my Bro-in-laws got in. Today Chad came home feeling like he going going to puke, but he hasn't. So this thing seems not be going through the family very quickly. Ugh. We are only like 22 days out from our trip, I hope everyone gets it before then.

Wanted to check in, puke fest is over, 2 left in limbo, wondering if they will get it, hope not.

Currently having the last of my 7 trees cut down. 10 years ago when we bought this house there were 7 beautiful oaks and elms here. The Oaks were a problem, one that was in front of my house literally was pushing up against the gutters and lifting the porch. The other was in the middle of my deck lifting the joists. Don't understand why they built a house inbetween to Oak tress.

The rest got the bore and were all killed by that nasty insect. The last of my shade. I need to get a quick growing resistant tree. I'm thinking Maple. I did plant some beautiful bradford pears in the yard, and my dwarf lilac is amazing. It's about to bloom and the whole house will smell lovely!

It feels like a mini earthquake!!!!

Mony - Glad puke fest is over! Sorry to hear that the voice of the Tigers is no more . . .

Nabbie - What did you think of BL last night? It was really fun to see everyone's makeovers! Especially Daris and Michael losing all that crazy hair. But Koli's outfit and those glasses were pretty nerdy :scared: I was sorry to see Sam go, but I liked the ending where they showed him and Stephanie together. They are both looking fabulous!!!

I went after work and did a little more clothes shopping for vacation. It's fun being able to buy cuter clothes :goodvibes

Oops! Double post.

My other fun thing today was that I picked up my diamond ring from the jeweler's today after having it sized smaller. He polished it up and it looks brand new!!! :woohoo:

Moo: I am relishing in your success and shopping fun! We lost a great one there. I feel sad for Lulu. I'm sure they will cover his wake at Comerica Park.

Morning Everyone! I wish you all a magical day! :tinker:

morning everyone...
We have three old fashioned purple lilacs in front of my living room windows.....and one white old fashion on the other side of the front porch....Then in the back yard we have 12 lilacs..but they are TREES I swear...three old fashion purple, and the rest are French double purple lilacs, and three double white lilacs.......those are just so beautiful....sad thing is..
MY ALLERGIES do not like them in the house. Yesterday the place STUNK....did I actually say that. before this started to bother me I wanted to have these lilacs so bad....got the old fashion from the same trees that were in my mil's former home way up north when she was a child...
Hubby has been bringing in big bags full of lilacs cut .....we cut them and then he smashed the ends of them so that they absorb water more.....other wise they die faster..

yesterday we heard that the signing went fine and the realtor went in and everything in the place was immaculate......I love that it is clean and beautiful and she said lonely for its new owners..

I guess today I will get some more stuff out of my drawers and lay them down to pack.....make YET ANOTHER list...too

Pumba-- I love lialics I have a white and purple tree too. Wish they would bloom longer. It would be a bummer to be allergic.

Moo-- It was Sam's time to go, he didn't need to be there. They only have a few weeks left at the ranch anyway. I really like Michael's makeover. Daris needs to cout off those curls in the front if he isn't going to slick the hair back. :lmao: Sam and Steph look really happy , I wanted to see more of their apartment it was really nice.

Mony-- glad you all are feeling better at your house and :woohoo:on your upcoming trip. We are still trying to decide what to do this summer.

The kids had Pedal for Hope assembly at school yesterday. Cops ride there bike a great distance to the school, the kids raised money for Cancer. The whole school was out lining the bus loop and front drop off to cheer them in. It was really a sight. Then some kids got their heads shaved and girls got ponytails cut for locks of love. They showed a slide show of kids they were helping and said two of the kids died one in Dec, one in Jan. It was really sad it mad me cry. But then the got the kids up dancing , beach balls flying and the screaming in the gym was so loud I had to cover my ears. The school raised $10,000. the same as last year.

On another note....I need prayers for my MIL. She is really sick and was rushed by ambulance yesterday to the hospital with breathing problems. She also has MS and is very frail, not eating either. But she is a fighter , she had to be.

Thanks, Mony! I really appreciate your support  I'm thinking we ought to schedule another get-together sometime this summer!!!

Nabbie - Sending prayers for your MIL :grouphug:

I think you're right about it being Sam's time to leave the ranch He sure does have some muscles now! I think it'll be very interesting to see how everyone looks at the finale.
