Quiet around here....

Hope you are all getting yourselves ready for Thanksgiving. :goodvibes

Not much happening around here. I worked my tail off getting the basement festive and empty boxes put away. Just have to decorate the tree. The kids will do that on the weekend.

I was polishing the washroom mirror down there and the wire holding it broke. The mirror didn't thank goodness but it got wedged in behind the tap stopper think. The stopper post made a huge scratch in the wood. Had to get hubby to disconnect it to get the mirror out of there. At least I don't have 7 years bad luck.

So who is going shopping on Black Friday. We have started to see sales for this here. Advertising that we don't need a passport to get deals. Our dollar is so close to yours there is a lot of cross border shopping going on. We just like going because you have different clothes and stuff there. Deals don't hurt either.

I love deals...no matter where we get them...RIGHT????

So far, we got 10 inches of the dreaded white stuff....most places, being the day before the big turkey, are still open...Schools are already closed yesterday so that was a given...
I have made the banana bread, the pie crust for the lemon meringue pie, the squash pie is in the oven...hubby is just now snowblowing the big driveway...we need a plow on his four wheeler I think...hahaha...
He can make his big chocolate cream pie later on and I will make the banana cream pie...just have to do things in order of high temps in the oven...:confused3

see ya later gator..

No snow here , but we did get freezing rain last night. Thought the kids wouldn't have school today because the buses won't run but it was above 0 this morning so it was all gone.

Pumba -- does your new house have a country lane?

What a day!

We're traveling to Indy for Tday with mil and sil - DS and his dog are not. (I probably didnt mention DS is now divorced, she decided she didnt want to be married or be a "sugar momma" DS is working with a group home for deaf kids - a residential home, so like pumba's dd, ds gets a lot of punches, and hugs Well it was all a huge mess, and divorce is now final - DS lives here now)

As does his black lab/german shephard dog - My dog and his dog can be ornery! :rotfl2:

I am making 3 pies and a HUGE roasting pan of stuffing/dressing! I'm also sewing hats and scarves, knitting scarves, and slippers and crocheting mittens, and an infinity cowl or two...

We're still planning on going to WDW for the Marathon, altho I decided not to run the Half, I want to enjoy the time instead of suffering! :wizard:

also - its downright HOT here in Chicagoland - around 55 degrees, sunny for most of today - it sure gets dark out early now tho doesnt it?

55 degrees.......a little bit balmy isnt it...I WISH..

SO now hubby has gone to the other house to do the driveways so next week WHEN we HOPEFULLY put it on the mkt ...it will be accessible to all realtors and potential wannabee buyers...fingers crossed for a quick sale..

All my pies are done except hubbies big chocolate cream....6 pkgs of jello sugar free and fat free chocolate pudding cook...and 11 cups of milk...makes one heck of a big pie...

now all I am going to do now is do the meringue for the lemon pie and take out the serving dishes so I know what goes where and what goes in it...serving utensils and linen napkins.(never used them before so tomorrow will be a first)...have had them for a zillion years....its because I forgot to get the big dinner (paper) napkins at the store...and the no name brand ones are to little and flimsy..

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow and NAB I will save a piece of pie for you....:goodvibes

No snow here, either, thank goodness, but apparently the roads were slippery this morning. I wasn't at work, I was home cleaning all day. I went to a friend's birthday dinner last night and quickly figured out that I wasn't going to be able to get everything done on my own today, so I had my sister come help me out. She's only working one day a week, so I very was happy to give her some $$ for her assistance! She did a really nice job working with me on the vacuuming/dusting/mopping.

It was SO nice to have a nice. clean house when my DD and her BF arrived!

We're having dinner at my sister's tomorrow. Hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Nice to see you, Sandy! :grouphug:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hope you all have a great day with family and friends!

Good Morning everyone..

I am still in my housecoat and the two kids went shopping...hubby is out hunting and Megara is laying upstairs in the chair in the sunbeam....It was 19 when I got up ...so the sunbeam was good to her...hahaha..

Yesterday went perfect...the food was done, the meal was great and the pies were terrific...ALL OF THEM...I told the kids "guess whats for supper" and they laughed at me...we have alot of leftovers for sure....
My peanut butter fudge came out great too......DELICIOUS...two cups of sugar in a pan with half cup of water......bring to a boil and boil for two minutes...add a heaping cup of peanut butter and mix good...pour in a greased pan and chill..so good...and so darn easy compared to my other recipe I used...

I am happy...I love to have the family all around and this was a perfect day.

SO onto the next holiday ...yikes...:woohoo:

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with my sisters yesterday. AND gorgeous weather for our museum visit today. 60 degrees :scared1:

Hope it warmed up for you, Pumba :goodvibes

My knee crapped out after walking through the Henry Ford Museum, so I read in the car while everyone else visited Greenfield Village. It's SO frustrating to not be able to do all the walking I'd like to do :( Good thing I'm able to rent a scooter at WDW :thumbsup2

There seemed to be lots of families at the museum today, so we were glad we got an early start to avoid the worst of the crowds.

We heated up our leftover turkey and made open faced sandwiches with mashed taters for dinner tonight. Yum!

Moo-- glad you had nice weather, how long is Mari staying? Weather is suppose to hold out for the next few days.

We went to see Aurthur Christmas tonight. I loved it. It was really funny. Toronto was in there with the CN tower and the curved buildings are City Hall. Nicholas said they made the defense guy from Canada sound stupid. I told him it was a cartoon and was meant to be funny,

Went out shopping with Hannah this morning. Our mall was trying to compete with Black Friday with a lot of 50% sales. We only bought a Gingerbread Man at Build a Bear. We got there last promotional one at $5.00 That made her happy.

Nabbie - Mari is driving home on Monday, so we get to spend four full days plus an evening with her :)

Sounds like you had a fun Black Friday!

We're going out to do a bit of shopping today then over to my BIL's for a lasagne dinner. That way we'll have spent some time with both families this weekend.

Moo-- Sounds like you are having a great weekend! Well there be anything left after all the sales yesterday.

Marita-- Did you make Thanksgiving dinner this year? Hope you enjoying your family time.

We are going to the inlaws today to spend time with family too. If I can get everyone moving that is. The kids stayed up late last night because it wasn't a school night.

The temp. outside says it is nice but we have no sun today. Probably get some rain. Just as long as it is not freezing or snowing I am good.

Moo-- Glad you got you documents too. Are you going to have a scooter for the boat too or just WDW?

Went out Christmas shopping today. Got a few things. Stuff was really picked over from the weekend that is for sure.

Still having nice mild weather, just very cloudy though and we did get some rain yesterday. Better rain then snow.

Nabbie, YAY for making some shopping progress :thumbsup2

I'm not planning to use a scooter on the ship, but Don and I both we feel that we can see and do a lot more using them in the parks (especially given how bad my knee felt on Friday walking around the museum, even with using a cane). I got cortisone injections in my knees today, so hopefully that'll help.

Get ready for some chillier weather! We're supposed to get some snow later this week :(

i have a few posts that are missing too.

One on Sunday and one on Monday and tonights.....weird..

Hope you all had a great weekend....I sure did.....loved having our GD and her beau here for the weekend

Big snowstorm here tonight and we lost power around 9:00 :( Still waiting for our power to come back on. They estimated repair to be done by 11:30, but that didn't happen. I may be telecommuting tomorrow!

Moo--I saw that you were getting hit with a snow. So far we haven't got any but they are calling for flurries tonight. Hope your power is back on now. Good thing it didn't come on your Thanksgiving.

Nicholas stomach problems were acting up again last night , so much we took him to emergency again. They took blood work but didn't find anything . So they just gave him a morphine shot and sent him home2 1/2 hours later. We only got into see the specialist last week. He goes for an ultrasound tomorrow and get a GI series done at the end of Jan. Right between exams. But if we don't take this time we have to wait until Feb or March. Nicholas has had this problem since last April but we didn't ask to see a specialist until the summer because it comes and goes. Thought it was growing pains.

So he is home with me today. I am sure I will need a nap later too but had to get up and get Hannah to school.

Hope that Nicholas will feel better soon..

We had a rain storm that was LIKE DISNEYS ...a downpour and it rained hard and windy....but didnt last long..

Megara got up and barked at it that is how loud it was..

Yesterday my friend came and we had a great time talking...I havent seen her in a year....she brought us a plant for the house and she put in some of the plant that we sent to the funeral home when her mama passed away..(ten years ago this week)...that plant will have special meaning...

Ava is beckoning me ...see ya later moovers

forgot to add......it was almost 60 when I got up at seven
