Hi everyone!

Nothing much to report here, but a story from one of my work buddies:

He calls me this afternoon to say that a report was late because he had a personal emergency. Get this:

He got a message from the g/f of his youngest son (about 21 I think) that he had killed himself. Buddy frantically tries to get a hold of anyone but can't and races home, an hour away. Meanwhile, his wife got the same message and called 911.

They get home and the son is fine, playing with the dogs. Apparently the g/f was mad at son. Why in the world she would ever send such a message to his parents it totally beyond me. Can you imagine? That girl should be put in jail!

OMG what a horrible horrible thing to do to ANYONE...

I hope that they called the police and got her arrested for doing this...I dont know what they would charge her with...but she needs HELP....My heart breaks for the family that had to go thru this... My sister lost her only son 15 years ago and got a message that your son was in a car accident and has died......who the hell would want to get any message of ANYKIND like that or what your co worker got...

Today is another day ...I will be glad for Saturday this week...Just to rest for a few...and stay in my jammies...hahaha...You know a laz around day...But I do believe I have to go with DIL to Lowes with the munchkins as they make a project there....Kuddos to Lowes for doing this for kids....they love to build stuff...

I guess I will make Norway breakfast ressies today...I am getting into the MOOD...YES I want warm air and sunshine and Disney..

have a good day everyone

Marita -- That is terrible, how could a person even come up with that idea is beyond me. :sad2: Glad the son was ok.

Pumba-- lazy days are good. Kids love to stay in their p.j's on Saturday if we aren't going out. I for one don't even get in my p.j until I go to bed. Everyone else loves to lounge at night in them.

It is freezing out there again. Out comes the winter coat again. I am afraid it may have to stay out this time.

Have lots of errands to do today. Go pick up my family pictures I had done , being one of them . Nicholas gets his shot today too so some more waiting in a doctors office.

Marita - I agree . . . what a horrific stunt for that girl to pull :scared1: Hope there is some way to punish her for doing that :sad2:

Pumba - w00t for ressie-making time!!!!!!!!! I made a countdown calendar yesterday for my various vacation events = visiting my DD, arriving at WDW, and my cruise date :cool1:

Nabbie - How's your hubby doing? My sister e-mailed me that she ended up having Bell's palsy from the virus she picked up, but she is on meds to try to clear that up quickly. I'll have to see how she's doing tomorrow.

we did Akershus breakfast with the princesses ..cause that one is sometimes hard to get now..
We are trying to find out the nights for Fantasmic and also the parade at MK...then we can make those reservations...
I get excited at this point...YIPPEE..

It was stinking cold this morning 28 degrees and we had a dusting last night...not much but enough for prints on the ground....Did I happen to mention that I DO NOT LIKE SNOW....hahaha..

The stinking woodpecker came back this morning and after two scares off I had to go out and wave my hands at him or her......BRAT..

Nabbie - I got your PM about not making it for our mini-meet tomorrow :( Sorry I was out of touch last night and today! I sent you a PM.

Pumba - We had some flurries yesterday too, but not enough to stick. Yay! I am looking forward to some Florida weather in a few weeks :goodvibes

Morning ...today
daughter in law and two rug rats are picking me up and we are going to Lowes first...the kiddos make stuff with hammers and all...they love to build stuff..and this place is great for introducing kids to hand made things..
THEN we are off to go to some craft fairs...this is the season for the churches and nursing homes and craft organizations to make the fairs.....I love these..

Hubby stopped at the store yesterday and got ANOTHER turkey....we have two in the deep freeze but he said that they were to small.....so this one is for the bird day...22 lbs is enough for anyone...we will do a turkey a month after that cause I love turkey and stuffing and veggies and cranberry sauce and other good stuff......I could do one often..

Hope you all have a great day

yesterday started off great then ...

we were at one of the Christmas fairs and my cell phone rings...it was my brother ...the doctor called my sil on a Saturday to inform her that she has cancer of the kidney....to hear my brother cry broke my heart....I didnt hear it all because I was trying so hard not to bawl in this area....so first of December will be surgery for her ...please say a little prayer for my sil and all people who are suffering from this dreaded disease.....thanks everyone

Pumba - I'm pretty sure that is one type of tumor that is easier than most to remove. My cousin's husband had great results. Sending prayers.

Moo........thanks so much.......you made me think good positive thoughts again..

You are a godsend to me today..

Today I didnt do much .(swept the floors, did the laundry, made the bed...My sister and her husband stopped by and we had pumpkin bread and some coffee....so being as it was in the later part of the pm ...I am probably going to be wired...hahaha

I have a few pies to make this week.....hubby can make the en grande chocolate cream pie and i will do the squash, lemon meringue, and banana cream...I got two pints of whipping cream.(YUMMY) and turkey is thawing out..
You know I used to say unthaw...and my DIL laughed and told me that meant it was to be frozen.....so I had to remember to say thawed out.we still laugh about it..

I am ready for the BIRD...I love turkey and stuffing (inside the bird)..I know my friend said that southerners dont do that......they do a cornbread stuffing outside the bird.......I would miss the old bread stuffing from my Nana...YUMMY

I know Moo, saw my post of FB, but to tell you all:

My son suprised us today by showing up at the door unexpectedly at 3PM They had been dragging their feet at granting leaves, and he said he's just plan on coming in Jan or Feb. But they finally granted his leave 2 weeks ago, so he decided to surprise us.

A few emails later, I now have the entire week off, woohoo! And tomorrow is DD's birthday. She wants cabbage rolls, oh joy!

Anyway, I'm a happy camper tonight.

Pumba, so sorry about your SIL, sending prayers. :grouphug:

Moo-- Sorry we didn't make it this weekend. I have never seen so much traffic in my life as there was this weekend. Even coming home it took way to long. Spent way too much time in the car that is for sure. We surprised my mom showing up at the door too.

Marita-- How exciting to have your son home and the week of. Your going to have such a great Thanksgiving!

Pumba-- Prayers for your SIL. My sister just went though problems with her kidneys just 6 weeks ago. They thought they had to take the whole kidney but only ended up taking half. Hopefully they have the same results.

Hannah had me take some Christmas stuff out tonight. I have boxes and stuff everywhere now. I usually do all the decorating but the big tree while the kids are in school. Now I know why.We do love setting up the Nativity Scene together though. It is all set up on the coffee table in the living room, it takes up the whole table. It is a big set with big pieces.

Well I am beat I am going to go to bed soon.....Another week of running the kids from place to place, Nov is flying by.

Hi!

Decided to come over and take a peek. Think of you all often.

Marita, read about your surprise over yonder. Happy for you.

Pumba, if you remember about Tim's cancer tumor on his kidney, they took his kidney and he has been cancer free for three years. No troubles with anything what so ever. I will still sends prayers out for your SIL.

Glad to see you all over here. Wish I had some disney plans myself, but that will not be happening for some time.

Just got my fingerprints done. I have been working on filling out paperwork for a sub service that finds sub teachers for several districts in my area. Hope that pans out.

I am almost done with Fall semester. In January I take my last two classes and start my pre-student teaching, which I guess is a class. Then I do my other two student teachings which I can piggy back, or take together and I graduate!!!!!!!

I am hoping that I can graduate a year from now. Not sure if I can do student teaching over spring/summer. Who knows?

My kids are all doing great.

Have a great Thanksgiving:goodvibes

Mony, great to see you over here, miss you!

I sure do remember all the drama with your poor hubby, great it all turned out so well! :thumbsup2

Is it me, or is your study like never ending? Another year? But great for you, it took me 10 years to get my batchelors, so I should know better, LOL. Hope you stop in more often.

I have to entire week off, YAY! did I say that already? Arranged tonight. Only issue is that I have to take my car in for a major tune up, which cuts into free time, but it surely could be much worse. I'm happy!

Mony - I second Marita's comment that it's great to see you over here. Even though I see your FB updates, it was nice that you checked in :grouphug:

And I was happy to hear the positive report re: your hubby's kidney tumor, as I am sure Pumba will be :goodvibes

MARITA!!! I'm so happy to hear about your son's surprise and that you were able to get the week off :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:  :cloud9:

Nabbie - No worries about not making it this weekend. It allowed me to sleep in yesterday and start decluttering the house for my daughter's visit :thumbsup2 I'm taking Wednesday off work to do most of my cleaning. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish decluttering and get my kitchen floor washed before Wednesday.

Today was pretty much a wash because I went to a women's college hockey game to see a coworker's daughter's team play. Unfortunately, she did not get any ice time other than warm-up :sad1: but they won this game after losing last night's game 6-4 (she did not get to play in that game either, which was a huge shame since they were playing in Michigan and since it is a Wisconsin school, there were several people from my office there to see her). However, one of the other goalies who is from Michigan was able to play the whole game today, so I'm sure her family was super happy.

have I told you how much I "LUV" you all.......you all lift each other up when one of us is down......and yesterday and today you all managed to do it to me again..
Thank you so much all of you...

Marita...I am so glad that your son is home for this great holiday....Families together....
Monica...I remember now and thank you so much for visiting here once again...
My daughter is a teacher at a specialized school for behaviorial kids....They cant be mainstreamed into public and some never do...She burns out alot and then she gets a week vacation...like Christmas break, and then Feb, break, and then April and then comes summer......but they have two weeks off and then school (during the summer months) five weeks in and then two weeks before they start up again the last of August...She has a BS in Natural and Applied Sciences and is taking her last class for special education...She teaches Math to the whole school...very hard to be a teacher ...let alone kids with problems...

Have a good day my friends and I do mean that sincerely.
You are all the best cyber friends around....

Pumba we have those here and refer to them as center based schools. I volunteered one spring with a class of 14-15 year olds. Most were severely multiply impaired. All were in wheel chairs, most had paralysis of some kind, visual impairments, feeding tubes, major health issues all around. That could be me too one day if I ever find a good full time job.

Did I tell you all that I closed the day care? July 31 was my last day. It is nice to feel NOT like a slave to my house and I have been busy helping at Maddy's school, volunteering and I have also taken on a project or two.....

My church took on a ministry called the Great Lakes Gabriel Project. It spoke to me like nothing has ever spoke to me before. We help pregnant women having a crisis pregnancy. We offer a mom many wonderful choices to keep her child through supports of all kinds.

I am the co-coordinator and so far we have two moms we are helping. My first mom just got "adopted" through a family from our church. They are blessing her and her three kids with a wonderful christmas. I was so excited to hear of that. I delivered her a crib last week and we have supported her with diapers, clothes, and formula. Oh and lots of prayers!

I am still teaching first grade catechism, which I love!

I took my last special ed class and the teacher emailed me to tell me I was one of two students to get full points on my final and in the class. I was just tickled! To end my major like that was a wonderful feeling.

Martia: I average 11 credit hours a semester, I don't know why it takes so long, there are alot of classes to take and I have 137 credit hours under me. I could be done by spring/summer if they offer student teaching then. But I doubt it.

You know what makes you all so great???? I can come back over here after a long absence and you all open your arms and give me a nice welcome back. Shucks........and thanks!

Mony, yes you told us about closing up the day care (I think, or was that on FB). Glad you finally have more time, kind of :lmao:
What a great charity that your church took on!
Old friends are always welcome here, I am hoping a few more will pop in as the holidays get closer.

I made cabbage rolls today for DD's birthday at here request. Between the shopping, chopping, cooking, peeling and stirring I was exhausted. And I can't make gravy to save my life, good thing I bought a jar  I think i'm done offering to make special dinners, I just suck at cooking anything more than chili anymore. Didn't inherit my mom's cooking skills for sure, although she tried to teach me and I have it written down.. Oh well...
Steakhouse next time....

Mony-- I'm with Marita, seems like you have been in school forever. But it sounds like you really are enjoying it and doing very well too! My sister volunteers at a place called St. Monica House. They take in pregnant teens after families have kicked them out and have no where else to go. She loves working there too.

Marita-- I can't cook either, I do my best and that is what they get. Tried making cabbage rolls a few times. They never turn out well or like my hubby's mom's so I don't try them anymore. Too much work. I will stick to baking.

It has turned really cold here , but they said we are going to go back to the double digits by the end of the week, yay.

My daughter teaches the kids that just as soon kick you while you are down then give any hugs out...These kids can do a number on you...both body and mind...Last year one child she was escorting to the quiet room with the director and he was known to trip people...this time he jumped up and wrapped his legs around my daughters leg and she went down on her knees....she was in PT for three months and missed out on her hockey season....one time another child threw a device at her and made a pretty good mess...there are two teachers always to welcome them at the door when they arrive....one checks their backpacks and coats and the other one welcomes them...some are as young as 7...sad isnt it..to worry about them having something that could do bodily harm to you in their backpacks...

I moved wrong today and pulled that same back muscle...better be gone on the next ibuprofen meds......I do not have time to have a boo boo.......to many pies to make and stuff to peel and cook.......geesh...

that is a super project to be with....helping those young moms to be with a pregnancy
