Our power was still out this morning and the house was only about 50 degrees, so we went in to work after Don cleared the driveway. Don just called me to say that he thinks our power is back on now. I sure hope so!

Nabbie - Sorry to hear that Nicholas isn't feeling well. Hope they figure out the problem.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to be MIA for a bit. Everything is fine here. Chris went back yesterday. Not much new here.

Nab, yikes about Nicholas, hope they find out the issue.

Moo, hope you got your power back

I switched my at home wear from shorts to sweatpants tonight. In the 60's right now, although it's supposed to go back to the 70's soon for a bit.
I forgot if I posted this or not, but my office partner Khaki, whom I got along with very well (for the most part), accepted a promotion to another area of the company, so I will have a new girl starting in a couple of weeks. Very young (and the daughter of a VP who headed up Resorts for many years), so we shall see how that works out! popcorn::

Yay, we got our power back this afternoon!!! Nice and toasty here tonight. I made it into the office late morning and used our locker room to get a shower to eliminate my scary bedhead :scared1: I think that was about the third time I've done that after having a power outage. Grrr.

Marita - Good to hear from you. Hope you had a fabulous visit with Chris :goodvibes Sorry about having to break in yet another coworker :headache:

What a day....

Nicholas had his ultrasound today. It took almost an hour. Don't know what they were doing in there. Plus they were a half an hour behind. So we had to rush back to school. Didn't want him missing anymore science. Don't know when we get the results. Next is more blood work. It was so late had to pay $16. for parking which is the flat rate for the day. Crazy.

Then poor Hannah started to cry on the way home from school. She said there was no lunch for her today. Usually she has lunch lady every Thursday so I only packed snacks. Well it turned out I forgot to put an order in. Thought we were good until the end of this month. I felt so bad. I told her she should have called home or usually the office will find them something in the fridge. She didn't ask. Said she only had 17 goldfish. I am going to make the best lunch for her tomorrow , or take her out for lunch.

The guy on the radio said we are in for a warm winter. Double digits ...nice. But when it does snow it is going to be big. Not sure I like that part.

Nabbie - That sounds like one heck of a day! Poor Hannah!!! :grouphug:

Our snow still looks quite pretty, but it was an extremely heavy first snow of the season. We must have had at least 8 inches. Hope it is not indicative of what we're in for the rest of the winter :rolleyes1

My sister received her own set of cruise docs today, which kind of surprised me. I'll have to see how her booklet compares to mine! I need to start thinking about what I'm going to pack.

things are happening...posts are missing and times are messed up....not just us..

On that note..How the heck is everyone..

Yesterday my sister was taken to the hospital and they kept her in the ER monitoring her heart and doing other tests....they did an ekg and also a stress test later and she is fine....Acid Reflux has done this to a number of families and women I know....

BUT if you have any systems ...chest feeling closed in...tingling...sick to your stomach...CALL OR GO TO THE ER...Women heart problems are not sometimes the normal chest pain type of heart attack.........Just want you MY FRIENDS to know this..

Last night I went to the East Auburn Baptist Church CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR...if you want to go to Youtube...you can see last years ending performances...
MY daughter and daughter in law went early and we got the front seats...YES...it was a fantastic performance...and my two girls enjoyed it too...plus we had a chance to be there by ourselves (well 800 others) and chat the one hour before the show started...

Hope you all have a great weekend..

Sounds like a fabulous show and a nice time out and about, Pumba! You're right, chest tightness is nothing to fool around with.

I had a Christmas gathering today with some friends from high school who I was in Camp Fire with and two of the moms who were our leaders. One of the moms is sharp as a tack, but the other is starting to have some memory issues. Kind of sad :( But she still knows who we are and is doing pretty well for being close to 80, all things considered.

My DD did a craft show today with some of the knit and sewn items she has made recently. Still waiting to hear how she did. I sure hope she was able to sell a few things!

Pumba-- glad your sister is alright. I have a lot of heart disease in my family so it is scary stuff. Funny think is my brother had a by pass done when he was 42 and is going to be 59 next month. He hates going to the doctor because gets lots of pains here and there and sometimes doesn't take his meds. It drives our family crazy.

Moo--It is cool you still keep in touch with high school friends. Wish I would have kept in touch with some of mine. But we grow apart and went separate ways.

I made some cookies yesterday. Just for us though. The kids wanted chocolate chip. So now all my pans and racks are out and waiting for the next batch to make for family and friends. Still have lots of time to get them done.

Weather is holding out here. No snow but suppose to get rain today. Hope it holds out until after next weekend. Hubby's work Christmas party is next Saturday and I want to wear shoes and not boots and have to change them.

Well better get moving .....church to get to .

we spent the day at the OTHER place and did alot of work...I am POOPED...so is hubby...he has been there every day after work doing something...so all that is left now is hallway from second floor painted...just the steps...then wash the carpets on the first floor....then THAT IS IT...oh wait...still some junk in the basement of hubbies tools..so this is the end of a very very long process..

My dad had a heart attack very young and so did my brother......so it is scarey to have some chest pains and stuff....we all should take care of ourselves..

Did I tell you ..OR WAS that the posts that are missing.. we made our reservations to Pop Century for May...and we got the preferred pool view rooms...it is ten more then the perferred rooms but those are usually just as far as a regular room...A preferred room at pop one year...was so many feet from the corner of the main bld to your bld...and we were still out in left field on the third floor on the other side of the bld near the pkg lot..so ten dollars more for a pool view room is worth it...our son and his wife and kiddos did the same thing..
We also have some reservations for meals too...princess Breadkfast at Norway...then Crystal Palace, and Biergarten and House of blues...I think we dont want anything else..our dil got the restaurant.com one for house of blues..ten bucks I think for a 100 dollar certficate to that place...we have to spend so much more but she did good i think..
Hope that Hannah feeds up really good next week...hello to the rest of you

Nabbie - These are the main friends from school that I stay in touch with. We get together several times a year. Twice in one week this past week (except for our one friend who lives in Florida)!

Your cookies sound GREAT! We had lots of good things to eat yesterday, so I need to take it easy for the next week or so :scared1:

No snow here this weekend, but quite a bit of RAIN!

Pumba - Sounds like you and your hubby have made good progress :goodvibes It sure helps having a WDW trip to look forward to, doesn't it?! Can't believe we are less than a month away :cool1:

I saw on the cruise board where there were some strange things happening with posts :confused3 Don't think I lost any of mine, but I don't post all that much.

Well we had another mild and rainy day here today. But I had to get out and do so more Christmas shopping. I think I have most done. Just have hubby's side to do and some of that is done too.

Marita-- Where have you been hiding?

Guess we are all busy with the season and everyday stuff. Can understand that. Have to get some more cookies made too. But Hubby was off today, tomorrow and Wed. So I know I won't get much done.

Pumba-- I have noticed that post are out of order but haven't seen any in a few days maybe the problems are fixed. I do know it is pretty slow though....

Nabbie - Your Christmas card and family photos arrived today. Very nice! Thanks!!! Can't wait to see you all in person in LESS THAN A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!

And I agree. Where has Marita been hiding?! :goodvibes

Hi all.
Sorry for not posting much lately. Everything is fine here.

I forgot if I mention that DD is going on a free 10 day trip to Israel, paid by the state of Israel via her Synagoge (she converted last year).

Anyway, she left today at 6 am. Her departure from NY to Jerusalem was majorly delayed shortly after she booked her flight to NY. Anyway, so she left at 6AM today and departure was 11PM! Her carryon (only luggage) didnt fit on the plane and they made her check it. She gets to NY and no luggage arrived!!! She called almost crying at 9AM.

Long story short, apparently it never left Orlando, so they had to send it after they found it (they didnt tag it) to NY on another plane.

Talked to her this afternoon, she said she was fine, luggage was coming, and she was in NYC and tell you later. Called at 8pm, she had her luggage, was with her travel group (lots of chatter in the background), and was going to turn off her phone now Apperantly she had more intersting things to do, LOL. Anyway, all seems fine now.

Maybe she'll find a nice Jewish future doctor on the trip :) Age limit is 26, she turned 27 2 weks ago and needed a special exception, but I hear some men like older women:rotfl:

NAB, I owe you the tickets still, I'll try to do it by Thursday, I'm in forecast hell again right now.

Marita-- we still have time for the tickets no worries. That is pretty cool about your dd going. I remember you mentioning it before. Would have probably cried to if my luggage didn't show up. Always afriad of that happening. Especially if we are getting on the boat. That would be a nightmare with out clothes.

I saw on the CB the Dels Wife died yesterday of a blood clot issues. I remember reading some of her trip reports. She was pretty funny. Robin wasn't that old I don't think.

some wonderful things today and some sad...
ROBIN lived in Maine and we always said we would meet half way but never got around to it.....SO dont put off what we can do now...got it ladies and gents..
She would message me and tell me to get the darn cold air out of her area and keep it north....I live maybe 55 minutes north of her..hahaha..She will be missed ...please say one for her family...Del will be lost without her..

My sister in law is out of surgery and they didnt find anything else just that one tumor that was cancerous in her kidney..Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...it was scary ..

Hubby took today off and we "visited" the house...got things DONE...he has to vacumm the basement and take a few more things out and then wash the carpets...I am exhuasted...we made one big haul to the city dump ( we get pass cards) ...and it was over the top of the truck top...stuff we had but was trash now...rofl..

I never met Robin, I only read someof her stories, usually when Marita told me too. Death makes me sad, even of complete strangers. Reading over some of her followers posts was heartbreaking and it makes me cry.

It's to ones who go suddenly that makes it hard for me. I picture my family without me and it crushes me to think what my kids would go through.

To cry like this over someone you never met, strange maybe but it just effects me that way.

Last week of school for the semester, Friday is my last day. Yee haw!

Been talking with a sub hiring service and she wants to hire me, just waiting for my app to be processed.

I finished my last of my sp ed classes and got an 100%, I have a 99% in my science methods class and I believe the same in my social studies methods class. My educational psychology class is about a B because it is all test based, no assignments. I am a better student of taking what I know and applying it to what teachers do. It is harder for me to memorize stuff I will only use in a round about way. Hope that makes sense.

Disney has sent me three pin codes this year and I can't use them! GRRRR.

Prayers for those family members facing health issues to all.

There was a local teacher who was 7 month pregnant just drop dead and they lost both mom and baby she was 32. It's so sad, right in the middle of conferences too.

Tough time of year for this to happen.

Lots to pray over tonight.

Have a good rest of your week ladies if I don't check on you all.:)

Monica - I've been crying too - I bookmarked her blog, and was sad when she stopped updating because of family issues. She was such a bright light, and I never met her - I think she was in her late 40's? I think her mother passed away this summer... its all so very sad.

Marita - how exciting for your DD - ds' fiance's sister (ok that's a long way) went on one of those trips, and stayed for a year, found the love of her life - its just amazing some of the stories people have from those experiences. I actually made matzoh ball soup and latkes for dinner tonight - and I've set up our menorah - dd proclaims us "Jewish in another life" I love celebrating "miracles" I know in the Jewish faith its one (Hanukkah they feel is about a "battle") of the lesser 'holy days"

Nab - you're going to Disney?! :cool1:

Moo - how did your dd do - what did she knit? I've recently tried to do more knitting - and I have to tell you I often think of your coworker Marita using pencils for needles :) I've done a lot but am such a newbie with knitting - just trying to figure it all out! I decided crochet was the way to go - I made pathetic gloves - so much easier to buy those!!

It wont be long till we head to Florida for the Marathon - I should change my signature - it was a long shot anyway - but I'm not going to do the Donald - taht 2010 freeze and how I handled it - :scared1: DH is still going to do the "Goofy"!

Christmas - cant believe its only 17 days till Christmas! We need more time - major problems (broken axle, ds divorce, ds college tuition) keep getting in the way! I think we can do very well at the Dollar Store - we are going to Disney! (we have our flight, we have our rooms - and I have some money saved to a gift card!! Move away negatives - we ARE GOING TO DISNEY!! :yay:)

i have a few posts that are missing too.

One on Sunday and one on Monday and tonights.....weird..

Hope you all had a great weekend....I sure did.....loved having our GD and her beau here for the weekend

I thought it was just me!!

Good Morning everyone..

More overcast today and it makes for a bleak day to start off with....Hubby overslept and decided to take one more day off and FINISH...CAN WE SAY PUT ON THE MKT...of course just finishing it will be a blessing...

I have been thinking over things lately...sometimes I think to much...Worrying over my SIL the last few weeks...My sister having the heart scare (thank God it was Acid)...Then I count our blessings...Sil's cancer did not spread...just that one area of her kidney....My sister had acid reflux...the house is almost done to get rid of.....so many good things..

Yesterday after we got thru the old house, I had my recheck on my eye pressure...still high and so YET another glaucoma med...the other one he gave me wasnt doing the trick.....but this one is expensive...even with our insurance...insurance says oh no....get something else...geesh..so have to fight over insurance saying this is the one that is going to work.leave me alone...

So hubby overslept and said it was a sign to stay home ...sleep a few more hours and then finish the work...he has to take apart his fathers shopsmith ...it is a huge saw thingie...so hopefully he will be careful cause I am home with Ava today and cant help him......MEN ..sometimes they can be so stubborn..

Marita...it is very exciting for your DD ...I am anxious to see some photos of whatever she can take.....hope she has a great time..

I cant knit but I can crochet....WHen I tried to knit ..it looked like the moths had gotten into it before I could finish....I did slippers via crochet and blankets for babies and more babies and more babies...and lap covers for some elderly ladies I knew...
I do have the instructions to make handbags out of GROCERY BAGS...can you believe that.......we saw some at a craft fair and I was IMPRESSED with it...they were really cute....

Have a good day my friends and lets not cry for Robin but rejoice that she is not going to suffer anymore...and give our energy to Del and her kids..:grouphug:

Pumba I think this time of a year is natural for reflection. I too try to move forward, the whole gratitude attitude.

Good luck with your home, sleeping in is a goog thing! DD high school on Wednesdays has "late start" They love sleeping in during the midway point - very smart! Teachers are there, they have their team meetings that hour. Of course DD stayed up till 3 AM doing homework :scared1:

I've also heard a group that crochet the bags for homeless shelters - they make them into sleeping mats - I can say I learn a lot on youtube - anything you need to learn is on youtube :rotfl2: I made the funniest slippers - they werent supposed to be funny - they just kept "growing" bigger (dont ask me how I increase, but I do!) Finally the dog couldnt resist, and while I had my back in the other room, he picked it up and used it for a chew toy - I was so not happy!

I get to work 1/2 day today - so wasting time, not starting anything...
