Hi all,

No rain here today, but we got our share yesterday. We had a team meeting this morning, giving room tours to the rest of boss' team, and then lunch at the food court (French Quarter this time, so I avoided another major calorie overload by have a Po Boy, which was good).

Otherwise very boring day. I signed up for Twitter like 2 years ago, but never know who to follow, so if anyone has good suggestions, please share!

TGIF!!

bbn - Sending prayers for your friends and all the people in Japan who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami. So sad.

L - Yay for your nice, new, sane bossman!!!

The nuclear plant situation in Japan is very concerning. I'll bet that hits home with Nabbie. Goog thing Canada is not subject to earthquakes. A bunch of the people I work with have been participating in our state's nuclear plant drills the past couple months.

We are having trouble with the baseboard heater in our living room, so I'm hanging out in my bedroom tonight because it's kind of cold in there. Hubby thinks he needs to replace the breaker :( I may have to resort to baking something tomorrow to warm up the house! Or maybe turn on our new-fangled space heater. Actually, I have a good excuse for baking tomorrow - I need to take something to a St. Patty's Day party on Sunday. I'm thinking of making some cheese cookies for an appetizer. It's something we had when we were wine touring last month. They were a nice accompaniment to our Riesling tasting!

Marita - Sounds like you had a yummy lunch! I see on-line that Disney is working to keep the stranded Tokyo Disneyland guests comfortable. I follow a couple of my favorite authors on Twitter and a bunch of past Biggest Loser contestants. You don't really have to use Twitter in order to follow people's tweets.

Pumba - Best wishes with this new potential house!

morning.....THE SUN IS OUT and its actually 39 degrees.......can you believe that......the window is open and it is so nice to breathe fresh air in the house...plus let out any potential germs....hahaha...My grandmother used to do this all the time.....every Saturday morning the door would be open to let the air in........must be something to it....

I guess I am to anxious to find the perfect house...I know it wont be perfect but I would like it to be close.....I dont mind painting or cleaning up ...or adding something here and there.....but we would like the structure ot be good and the windows and doors and inside to be good too.....

Last night we went looking at Glasses for my eyes....I already went to Bj's and Walmart and got prices....and last night we went to pro vision .....OMG I would not only have to give up our first born but our second born too....I cant believe that it would of cost over 650 bucks for a pair of glasses, with progressive lens and transitions....the other places are less then half of that...SO I was quiet until we got out of the mall and then told my hubby.THEY WANT OUR SON AND DAUGHTER TO BUY THOSE.....he knew what I was saying......and this is the place that offered the second pair to you or a friend or relative free......well the free is not free either..you get 100 or less for frames (more you pay for) then the lens are just lens...not anti glare or progressive.....I THINK NOT.......it would of cost the dog too..

SO will look again at BJ's and Walmart and see if they have some type of frames I will be satisified with.......I dont want to look like (OLD) my mama.....bless her heart in heaven....but I want to look okey too....hubby did enough of that last night....he was my honest person.....it was either YUCK or FRUGLLY......good guy isnt he....rofl

We are in the 40 days till disney mode.......I want to get out of Dodge soon...and have warm sun and no snow or mud .....you know just your run of the mill type of vacation....

See you later gators......

Moo-- your right the Nuclear thing is pretty scary. I asked hubby a million questions last night. They showed on the news what it would be like here if hit here at 10 km in we would be goners. Same with the nuke plant. We live very close to one.

Pumba-- My hubby is looking for new glasses and I am pretty honest with him too. Sometime I just laugh and can't stop. :lmao: Or the kids will tell him he looks like Grandpa they go back on the self fast.

Sun was out this morning but now we are back into cloud cover. But no more rain thank goodness.

Doing the normal weekend stuff :laundy:

:

With a nuke plant gone bad scenario, I think the closer the better. :thumbsup2 Nothing like living far enough to escape sudden death, but not far enough to escape prolonged and painful death.

We ran errands in town this morning. Had to return a pair of work boots that Chad bought at sears. I knew that was too good to be true. They were $80 instead of $180(which is what is going to have to spend at Red Wing). :sad2:

Now breakfast for dinner, thanks to our wonderful chickens.

Speaking of which the missing rooster is missing no more. He was never missing...I just can't count.

Cross your fingers that Monday come auction end no one outbids me on our Bonnet Creek stay. Chad gave me the go ahead to bid on one. The one I am eyeing is a 2 bedroom for 7 nights, May 6-13. As of now no bids and the starting bid is $259. :scared1: There is another I have my eye on in case this one falls through April 29th-May6th starting bid is $399. This one he just relisted because no one bought it last time. So I am prety confident that I will be able to secure a condo for us for that price(plus tax). I really hope to get the first one though, because that is a much better price and no tax added on that one. Both are big rental sellers on e-bay with good feedback with only renting.

So excited! Plus with all the 5X points I've been getting on my Disney Visa I can pay for Isaac's ticket upgrade with that!

around lunch time, our son and dil and the two munchkins came to visit and they brought their lunch from the Italian restaurant ...so they come in and my youngest gd gives me a box and I look at it and it says Amazon.....and then my son says open it.......It was a kindle....and it has books already on it.....and the name of the kindle is Maries Kindle......I am learning how to use it....My son says it will give me six weeks to figure it out before we go to Florida....I like to read on the plane and sometimes in the lounge chairs at the pools....I cant believe it....My son told me to hold off buying one cause they were going ot go down in prices.....so okey I waited and here it is..and the book I was going to buy is on it ...Gideon Sword ...

it is getting cold now......the sun is gone and the temps dropped....it was almost 45 this afternoon....what a gorgeous day ...

I called my sister that is visiting in Florida(bil has brothers and sisters down there and his mom too) and she is ready to come home....she has only been there for six days.....she doesnt like the traffic or the heat or the signs that say poison snakes beware......she wont go swimming at her bil's pool......and she doesnt read ...and she is not far from Disney and she said that doesnt interest me.....i said how do you know you have never been......geesh....smack my own sister up aside the head.....so she isnt having fun....

well I guess I will go and try to figure out how to read on that thing...its a skinny little thing.....but I am willing to try it....no heavy books anymore..

have a good night my friends

Hello everyone! We had beautiful weather here today. Pumba, I opened my front door too. Doing that lets the sunshine stream into the foyer, since the front of our house faces south. Even though it was only in the 40s today, it seemed so warm!

Oh I bet you'll LOVE your Kindle once you get the hang of it! DH and the kids bought me one for Christmas and I am so happy with it. I didn't really like the idea of it before, since I really enjoy the feel of a book in my hand, and love to browse bookstores on the hunt for a new book. But having so many books at your fingertips without lugging them all around is perfect! If you go to Kindle's Facebook page, there are hints and tips for using it most effectively, as well as a giant list of all kinds of books you can get for free! :thumbsup2

MommyP, yay for the return of the prodigal rooster! (Even if he wasn't really missing! ;)) And good luck on your auction!

The kids and I spent the day running hither and yon, so I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing Sunday.

Lazy day at home for me today, mostly. Hubby came home form his usual Saturday activities with his dad a bit early and I was able to check out his new (used) Jeep that he picked up yesterday. And we were able to figure out what was rattling in the wind outside my bedroom window - the glass in the light fixture - so we removed the light fixture. No more noise, YAY!!!

I took my hubby out for a belated birthday dinner at my cousin's brew pub restaurant this evening and. Yummy! We tried four different brews and I picked up a growler of one of them to take for my friends to try tomorrow at our annual St. Patty's Day corned beef and cabbage dinner. No green dye will be added because my cousin considers that a sacrilege and it's not officially St. Pat's anyway!

Pumba - What a nice gift!!! My sister has a Kindle and loves it. I put the Kindle app onto my laptop and have downloaded several free books, thanks to Sandy's suggestion around Christmas time. The laptop's not quite as handy to hang onto as an actual Kindle, but it is still pretty easy to read. If the price comes down, I may break down and buy one.

Lynette - I'll have to check out the Kindle FB page :goodvibes

MommyP - Goog luck with your auction! I am getting the Disney bug lately, especially with Cel being down there and sharing photos this past week, but I'm hoping to hold off going for a short trip until October during Food & Wine Festival time.

morning.
I LOVE FREE READING MATERIAL....thanks for the hint Lynette....

The sun was out but it went someplace else....We did have the window open earlier and let the fresh air in and Megara could bark at people walking in her street.....:-)

The kindle is actually a mothers day gift and my birthday gift combined....it has some of those books on it that I love.....

This morning hubby got on our reservation site and changed our days around so he could fit in a breakfast at Crystal palace ...so we are done for eating I think....SO Sunday night is CP for dinner......then Tuesday morning is Crystal palace for breakfast, Then Thursday night Cape May evening dinner.......then SAturday night is Biergarten......he did a good job.....

So off we go to Walmart and I can figure out some glasses here.....I know I can keep my kids....ROFL.

See you later gators

The sun is shining and no wind either. What a great start to the March Break. Even better sleeping. :cloud9:

Nicholas wants to go snow boarding , Hannah wants to go to the mall. Both are in different directions and about a 1/2 hour each way different. Maybe will have to please Nicholas today and Hannah tomorrow.

Pumba-- Yay on the new Kindle. I don't know if I would like one either. I do like holding on to a book and seeing how much I have read by where my marker is. But I do hate I have a ton of books lying around that I have read.

Moo-- How did your St Patrick's party go?

Twinkie -- are you having a birthday party tomorrow? Do you have to bake your own cake. I baked one last weeks said it was my birthday cake early.:lmao:

I don't know. :rotfl: On the one hand it is kind of lame to throw your own party on the other hand.. mmmm... cake. :thumbsup2 I guess I owe to my children to teach them that others are worth celebrating. ;)

1Amber to PJ:
So I was sitting in the main street bakery enjoying my danish and I almost stepped on a girl's hoodie. I stopped to apologize and saw her face.
OMG! It was your sister. You know how slick I am, so I asked her if she was from Ohio. She said yes so I asked if Lauren was her sister. I explained who I was. How crazy is that?

Freaky dee. I missed this on FB. I saw her as a Stepsister once but was too shy/not crazy to explain that I was one of Lauren's closest friends. The kind she has never seen.

But Bruce Wayne is so cool but I understand not wanting the world to know you wear a cape and tights in the evenings.

So someone let me know who sent me the mystery PM. I saw some of you on the PM list. I'm confused.

How is everyone?
hi- I did not get a mystery PM but lo and behold someone was taking my name in vain.

My husband has not been able to reach them as yet, but we are hoping that they are ok. If you think about it keep them in your prayers. Thanks!

.
I was just looking at photos over there. What a disaster. I hope you hear from your friends soon.

Week #2 at Le New Job, and I am still waiting for the other (crazy) shoe to drop. New Bossman is so easy to work for, and he keeps sending me home with samples and goodies. :goodvibes I:
Thank googness Crazy bossman "let you go".. .allthough now we need some new material.

It is Spring Break. AND SNOWING. AAAAAAAAAaaaack. It is enough to make you start fake planning a trip.

But I am going to be older (and wiser) tomorrow so I guess I will just do laundry and pay bills today. :teacher:

Some people *cough* MOO *cough* need to clean out their closets.

And their PM box.

Hard work being so popular. I know.

Wendy- Disneyland in half a day? :lmao: Good one.

Twinkle - Cleaned a few PMs out of my storage facility just for you! Will spring clean after I'm home :)

Nabbie - Our St. Pat's celebration was fun and relaxing. LOTS of great food!

It was the younger sister - the non CM one, not the one who is "friends with Anastasia."

I don't think I'd ever tell the other one I knew who she was - she'd have to break character to respond and that would freak me out - I don't think she'd break character anyway.

So you are not a member of the board mentioned in the weird spam we got? Glad I didn't go to the place. How dare they take the twink name in vain!
Was BBN's taken in vain too?

BBN - did you hear from your friends in Japan? I'm praying for them.

For PJ's grandpa too.

Having a disaster occur while you're in Disney is very weird - I knew about the situation in Japan only because I receive one email from CNN a day.
I had no idea of the extent of it until today.

1. Welp, thank googness I have my new coworker, Erik. He is a be-mulleted ZIP car user with a penchant for garish Chuck Taylors and a cool/funky hobby: he does special-effects makeup in his spare time. He has done some jobs for Discovery Channel (like creating a "bullet hole" in a mockup of Abe Lincoln in some documentary), and some PBS stuff. He also likes to quote British comedians. He's...uhm...interesting.

2. Yep, it snowed here today too. It tried to accumulate here and there, but I think my anti-winter voodoo dance finally worked! I think I have vanquished it! For now anyway. :confused3

Howevah, I highly recommend fake planning a trip to give your mind something to focus on. Because cleeeeeeearly having 14 kids wouldn't be enough to keep one's mind busy.

3. Happy Birthday Eve! Have some of these dudes--->:cheer2::yay:

Pumba, FYI for the next few days Scrabble, Mahjong Solitaire, and NY Time Crossword for Kindle are each $.99

I like having them on my Kindle...they're really easy to navigate and they're fun.

Everyone else: HOLLA!

Happy Birthday TWINKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a Perry/Twinkie cake. I hope you love it as much as I love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINKIE!!!

party::drinking1:cake::rockband::dance3:

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT ONE!

I did not know you met Babynurse in person...how cool is that.

The sun is shining and the temp. is to go way above 0 today so we are off to my mom's for a few days.

Kids are excited that they are going to Grandma's. I promised Hannah we would go to a big mall in the city on our way back. Maybe get her a new Easter outfit.

Happy Birthday, Twink!!!

Hope you have a magical, fun-filled day!!!

I have no clue who or what Perry is :confused3 Guess I need to check Mr. Google!

I am telecommuting today (YAY!) and waiting for the dishwasher repair guy. It is making a horrible noise when the water is supposed to be draining. Hubby tried to see if he could fix it, but no luck. He is usually good at such things. He was able to get our living room baseboard heater working again by replacing the breaker, thank goodness.

Actually had to wash dishes by hand last night in order to make my kitchen presentable

While the repair guy is here, I'm going to have him also replace the dryer drum felt and reattach one of the tumbler vanes, if he can, so I also had to do some cleaning in the utility room last night :guilty:

I was SO tired yesterday after the time change, but after doing all that cleaning last night I was not able to sleep well, Grrr.
