Mony - send me the broken cookies! (no, don't! )
And I think you are completely justified in your punishment, but I'm not a mom so I didn't respond.

I'm officially on vacation, HA! Which just means I moved my office chores to house chores. I have a shopping list a mile long! Groceries are a lot. Damn, this is expensive! not just the food, but plastic cups, forks and utensils for the little kids, sodas, etc., etc. 4 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of champagne, 4 packs of frozen strawberries for the special punch, it goes on...

DD says she will do the bathroom tomorrow, so I'll trust her on that.

Started on cleaning dishes last night and tonight that only get used once a year. Cleaned all the table cloths this weekend. Hubby cleaned the carpet. Lots of stuff to do on my "vacation". I reaally dont like christmas, it just means stress to me. If it were up to me, I would just do heavy
Hors deuvres and call it a day, but NOOO, hubby has to have his turkey and all the fixings, sigh!

Pumba, I got the fixings for the crab mousse on the shopping list, but depending on cost I may cut it out. I have chips and dip at home already and it will be a short night due to hubby having to work, so it will be dinner early and then presents for the kids and then kick everyone out.

At least I get to recover on Christmas Day.

PS: Ever since I deleted my cruise ticker, my siggie is way down low and I can't seem to fix it, it looks ok on use cp. Any ideas?

Meatball delivered with cookies to Nicholas class.

Teachers present sent in ...

My kitchen cleaned up and all baking stuff put away. Poor Hubby does not get his pie though maybe next week. He has lots of cookies to eat. I might try Mony's butter horns too.

Marita -- How are you doing with your long list. I do agree holiday entertaining is expensive. Baking is expensive.

My documents came for our cruise this morning by Fed ex that was a nice surprise.

NAB, you for being done with chores and the cruise docs coming.

My long list shrunk a tiny bit. Went to Walmart today to get some new chair covers, since DD threw the old ones out (and a couple of chairs are spattered with paint), but I could find any. Guess I will just remove a chair, not enough for all the people anyway, they can sit on the floor (the kids anyway)

I didnt get my butt in grear till almost 3 this afternoon. Picked up some stuff around the house, got another load of holiday dishes going. I think I need to take a break to get something to eat, and rewrite the shopping list for tomorrow for changes in menu items and stuff I got at Walmart today. Still not sure who all is coming, I need to make calls tonight. Plus DH said he told one niece to come over at 2!!!!!! NO WAY! So I need to call her back and confirm is she is bringing mashed potatoes again. Also need to call another niece who is bringing a veggie dish to see what she is bringing, so I dont duplicate. Last year was green bean casserole, very good, so she might do that again. If not, I want to try a broccoli cheese casserole, but it very similar, so I don't want to do that if she is bringing GBC.

I asked hubby tonight if we could just do horse deuvres for the party next year, and I would make him a turkey for xmas day. He just turned his back and closed the door and didnt say a word, so I guess that is a no?? :confused3

I think he thinks stuffing the turkey and putting it in the oven is all there is to it!

Eight hours of cleaning today and my house looks pretty decent. w00t!

Mari arrived home safely this evening and hubby picked up pizza for dinner. She is off visiting friends for a while and I'm playing on the computer and having a well-deserved glass of wine.

Marita - I'm with you on doing hors d'oeuvres. Making a turkey dinner is a lot of work. For my family gathering, we are doing appetizers and I'm making beef stew in the crock pot. I think Mari's going to make a cake to take for dessert.

It'll just be the three of us on Christmas day and I have a turkey breast that goes from freezer to oven. Easy peasy. We'll probably go out to see a movie after dinner. I'm trying to get my friend's chocolate mousse recipe that has Grand Marnier in it to make for our Christmas dessert. Yum.

Moo, yay for Mari being home. Always a goog thing.

Mony, wow , a day off, you deserve it, dont know how you do school and kids.

I spent lots of time looking at slow cookers at WalMart today. Sometimes I see a recipe that looks really good that I want want try. But really, I rarely cook and it would be a waste and they only had floor model of the small one for $10, so I didnt buy one. At least the weather was nice today, sunny and 75. not going to last long thoughs do
I think my nails are about in the worst shape ever, but i guess they might as well wait till the worst of cleaning done.

Everybody ought to have a maid................ Think song. want one!

I got out of WM without a line, right into line for 20 items or less withiout a wait, a miracle!

Yes Marita everyone should have a maid! I am home all day and would love one. I hate cleaning and dusting and doing the floors.

While were at it a cook would be good too! :lmao: A person can dream can't they.

Moo -- glad Mari got home ok. Is her boyfriend with her?

I am heading out today to my mom's. Roads are clear and the sun is out. Now the traffic might be another story. We will stay until late tomorrow night or probably more like early Christmas morning. Kids will be in there own beds for Santa even if we leave my mom's at 2:00 in the morning. We've gotten home at 4:30 am before.

Hope everyone gets there preparing done and can sit and relax soon and enjoy there holiday!!!

Marita I will be thinking of you the most this year.

Seems like everyone is busy making Christmas preparations! I think I am about done. Just a couple of things to bake this morning.

I wanted to stop in and wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday.:santa::hug:

Safe travels, Nabbie! Good plan to get your kids home for Santa ;) Mari's boyfriend didn't come with her - he is spending Christmas with his own family (his mom is being treated for breast cancer so I think he wanted to stick close to home).

Mony - Hope you're enjoying your time off school!!!

bbn - Nice to see you here instead of just over there! Was that "the" Tad that I saw commenting on one of your comments yesterday? :goodvibes

We have some grocery shopping to do today and Christmas with my hubby's family this evening. Hope it's not a zoo at the grocery store . . .

Nab, safe travels. I'm sure you're long gone by now...

BBN, nice to see you pop in!

Moo, I'm with you on the grocery shopping. My list is a mile long, I dread it. I did pick up a few items at Wallmart yesterday though that I thought were much cheaper than Publix. Campbell soup for 70 cents when Publix had them on sale for $1.25?? Wow. That store only had a few items though, not a Super Walmart.

One of the items on my list is a cookie sheet. WHY? Cause all 3 I had disappeared!!! Nobody claims to know where they went. Nothing I saw in the garage. How does one lose 3 cookie sheets? :confused3

Merry Christmas to you all..

Tonight is Christmas Eve and I just finished making one banana bread, cheesecake, chocolate cream and blueberry pie......then I found a chicken breast in the fridge OUT BACK that died.....so I had to enlist the old man to take out the glass holder so I could clean it easier in the sink.....this is what I get for having to much junk in the fridge...

Today has been a long day....I am tired...

Peace to you my friends....I do appreciate you all.

Merry Christmas Eve to all my MOO-velous friends!

Two family gatherings down and it's just the three of us tomorrow. Looking forward to that :)

Merry Christmas all!
Well, big dinner is over, presents are opened, whew. I get to relax tomorrow.
I felt crappy all day, so it was a real chore to finish everything up. I was wrapping presents after the company left, just before out family gift exchange. DH went way overboard as usual, DD had TONS of gifts. Poor Chris, on the other had, only had his main present, $200 flight control thingy for a game. The other box didnt make it in time. He joined us for the gift exchange via skype, so that was nice.

Now I look forward to going to bed and sleeping in tomorrow. ZZZZZZZZ

Marita - Glad you made it through your big Christmas Eve party! Sorry your son's other package didn't make it on time. We let Mari open her main gift tonight, so she's pretty well occupied figuring it out right now. I'm waiting for the hot tub to warm up a bit so I can have a nice soak!

HELLO OUT THERE

Merry Christmas to you all..

We were expecting the family for supper this evening.....but Megan has the stomach bug and they are not coming.....so it will be just our daughter, husband, the two older grandkids and then our grandsons girlfriend ...and then us....so our son and wife and our two youngest kids have to stay home....They will get their gifts later..

I did cook my head off as usual........but I AM STARVING.

Glad that your food fest was a success Marita......I love to cook and feed the troops......

Our gift to each other was our trip to Disney and hopefully getting another home soon.
Love you all:grouphug:

MERRY CHRISTMAS MOOVERS!!!!!

I am so thankful to have all of you in my life even it is my cyber life!:grouphug:

Merry Christmas Allie, good to see you, stop in more oftern!

Pumba, sorry about the thwarted plans for dinner. Can you come cook for me next year? I hate it, but hubby insists.:headache: I should turn into a more liberated woman

DD gave me a food processor I asked for, cause I always envy the people on cooking shows that just throw in stuff and have it pulse, chop, dice, pulse. Ok, so I rarely cook :rotfl: So now I have to figure out what to make with it....

Got most of the house (ok, 2/3) back to normal, but more stuff to clean up, put away and then there are all those gifts waiting to be returned. But first I see a nap in my very near future. So happy tomorrow is Sunday.

Oh, speaking of Sunday, Mondy was supposed to be DH's day off, since it was his turn to work saturdays for a month, but another freeze is coming, so he has to go in tomorrow night. At least his people get double time, he gets a comp day off.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Merry Christmas!!!

Home from the second Christmas...I am really tired. We all are.

Got home at 4:00 but didnt' go to bed until 5:00 am. Kids got us up really early. So I am probably running on 3 hours sleep tops.

Christmas good. Nice seeing all my family in one place but boy the basement gets really hot when all those people are gathered.

Santa and family over did it again this Christmas. We say we won't be always do.

I'm heading to bed since we have church in the morning. I probably would sleep in by Nicholas has to be there so we will be there.

Heading towards the New Year.....I am pretty well done with this one anyway.

Nabbie - Hope you're getting rested up today. Mari is staying at least another day (yay!!!) due to the weather in the south. A friend of mine from high school who lives in the Triangle area in North Carolina has been posting photos and there is more snow there today than we have here in Michigan. Yikes!

Marita - Food processors can definitely make cooking some things easier. I don't use mine very often, but when you need it, it comes in very handy!

Pumba - Sorry some of your family members were sick, but it sounds like you still had a nice bunch of family over :)

Hi, Allie! Still enjoying your snow??!
