CONGRATULATIONS PJ!!!!! A PERFECT 7!!!!

:cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2::worship: :thumbsup2

Congrats to your mom, Allie! My FIL finally retired this past year. He is turning 80 in June :scared: Hope your mom is going to do some things she enjoys. I fully intend to work for a while at something lower stress (if I can find something where I can work afternoons or from home).

She plans on sleeping! ;) No really she wants to spend time with her stitching friends. She has made so many samplers, and wants to make more. She is a crosstitching fiend! She reminds me all the time about how valuable they are and that I better NOT sell them on Ebay after she dies! :rotfl2: I would never do that, but she is obviously afraid that I would or she may be afraid of my sisters. :sad2:

Oh carp! forgot to send the card. :headache: If I mail it tomorrow, it should get there in time.

Wendy - did your little ones get home in the snowstorm? Hope everyone is home safe and warm.

MP - Wish I lived in FL now. That is a great deal! :thumbsup2

Marita, I always attribute Monday tiredness on having trouble getting to sleep after staying up late for two nights over the weekend!

That may be part of it too, but I DO sleep in and take naps on the weekends :confused3

Oh, so I was bending over the ferret cage tonight, wearing my headphones to listen to tv, to check the ferrets water. when I felt a tap on my back! So I looked down between my legs to spot 2 mens shoes. NONE I recognized :scared1:

Luckily it was only DS wearing his work shoes!!!!!!!! But it gave me a scare!

I am tired too. But I didn't stay up late on the weekend. :lmao:

Marita --I haven't got an email from my sister yet today. I am sure she will say it is still cold there if it is only in the 60's. We got above 0 today.....

P.J.-- Wow 7 out of 7 can't get any better then that.

Moo-- no rain here yet. Calling for it tomorrow, even freezing rain. Hope not I have to get the kids to there lessons tomorrow. Plus I hate driving in that stuff.

UMA-- did it stop snowing?

Babynurse -- I don't think you could do the sugar daddy thing....:rotfl: Cowboys are more fun.

Allie, you snuck in on me. bless your MOM, working till 70, SHUDDER!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hope she has a happy and long retirement!

Wow PJ!!! Great job! I (and I'm sure the rest of the thread) is/are very proud of you!!!!

the smilies aren't loading for me, so insert the teacher plus hug smilie here!!!!
:teacher:  What kind of friend would I be if I didn't provide smileys for those in need?

MOOO HOOTY to PJ for the PERFECT 7! No smilies for me either, so imagine the 1+2=3 here!
:teacher:
Alright, you too. Man, I'm so dedicated to my friends.

PJ: Yay for you!:cheer2: and a dancing banana  and some popcorn, but don't choke.popcorn::
I don't choke on popcorn. Usually just something else. :rolleyes1

CONGRATS, PJ!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
Thanks. And thanks for using your own smileys. Sheesh, those other people were wearin' on me!

DD called to say she will grace us with her presence tomorrow and Thursday :sad2:
Apparently I'm stuck on smileys tonight. I just found it amusing that the statement that your daughter is coming was followed by a sad smiley. I wonder if that's my mom's emotion when I say I'm coming!

CONGRATULATIONS PJ!!!!! A PERFECT 7!!!!

:cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2::worship: :thumbsup2
Thank you for that useful post.

1. P.J.-- Wow 7 out of 7 can't get any better then that.

2. Babynurse -- I don't think you could do the sugar daddy thing....:rotfl: Cowboys are more fun.
1. :)

2. Why is everything I can think of to say to this point-worthy?

I just read this on my Diet Coke: all beverages hydrate, including sparkling beverages. So if you are looking for hydration, but want the delicious and refreshing taste you get from Coca-Cola, don't compromise-go for it! You'll be hydrating your body with each and every sip.
So now I can drink strictly Diet Coke. I don't even have to pretend to drink water anymore. Because the Coca-Cola company said so. Cool!

Yeah, unfortunately my dad did some stupid stuff, and she had to go to work to try and make up the difference. She has been really diligent to stash as much as she could in her 401K. She decided last year that she just had to stop before it killed her. I think she will actually get a chance to come visit us some. She never got to do the fun things with my kids when they were small because she was working. She did lots of fun things with my nieces and nephews(she babysat all of them), so now my kids will get the benefits of their Nana!

PJ, are you trying to say you are happy about your 7 out of 7?

And that is what we call a trustworthy source. I tried to give up diet coke today. I lasted till 4:23 pm.

Crazy busy day here. Grasshopper had his 2 month well visit at the docter. 11 lbs 3 oz, 23.5 inches long. Looks good. Still puking. We are going to try a different reflux drug next. One I get to mix myself. Oh joy. Actually I am highly trained in mixing things. Nice to get to use that old college education. We sat FOREVER in the waiting room. Next to a nice young family with 18 month old twins and a 9 month old baby (you do the math) who had all just got out of the hospital with RSV. Of course Goldenchild was highly attracted to them, while I tried to politely distract him while Grasshopper screamed because he was hungry and I was trying to hold him off till after the shots.
He had them. He screamed till he turned red and then purple and then he did his brand new "mad face" where he sticks out his lower lip. It is too cute. If I had my camera, I would have snapped a pic and posted it. Because that is what normal people do when their children throw a fit or just pass out on the floor. ;)

Hi ya'll. Congrats PJ. Condolences to Monica- I missed your news the other day. There was lots of funny stuff here but I am too lazy to quote.

I wonder what smilie my mother would use to describe my visits... probably:yay: followed by :faint:

LOL, Twinkie, that waa a funny post! I can just imagine the pouty lip! take you camera at all times next time!

9 months and 18 months? Someone was anxious for something? :confused3 Hey, I got this without attending Math camp even!

It's been a real bumlaying day here. So tired from the trip last week and the work all weekend.
Lexi- sorry you had to detour, a trip that was already long enough. Other than those few things, everything else just keeps changing. You wouldn't know campus. It's even more beautiful now.
PJ-7 outta 7, MOO HOOTYThe look means everything. Parents were always shocked I could just look at their kids and freeze them.
cel-Mickey is crazy jealous of Donald. It may have all started with a mouse, but a duck kept them in business for 2 decades. Especially WWII. But leaving Daisy:love: out is unforgivable.
Now the trip!
We did the drive down in 2 sections. The first night we drove to Athens, Alabama. Of course we stopped in Nashville, at the Pied Piper Creamery. And Jenny was working, and had Glancy with her. So I got to play uncle for an hour. He's huge. And adorable. But we must moove on. We had a great meal at Lawler's BarBQ in Athens, then next door to the Country Hearth. Won't be staying at this one again. It looked great, but the tv, shower, and bed all were lousy. The bed was so soft I felt like I would sink in so deep we'd have to stay all day. The 'free' breakfast was 2 kinds of stale doughnuts or cereal, but they were out of milk. They had a make your own waffle machine, but everyone was trying to use it, so we left.
We stopped for an early lunch at Popeye's. Bob is now a big fan. Cheap, quick, and the best fast food chicken out there. Just a little spicy. But the mashed taters are spiced up quite nicely. Back on the road again. We drove past the lot where Fema trailers ae stored, and there must have been 50,000 of them. It went on for over half a mile.
We arrived at the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel, a quaint place on Rampart across the street from the Quarter. We're on the first floor, as requested. A family is checking in when we arrive, and they spoke no English. Just, you guessed it, French. But they were carrying a WDW bag. I was searing my Three Caballeros tshirt, so we had a small conversation. I speak Francais ' un tres peu'. They thought it was funny. Needless to say, the woman checking us in was thrilled that we spoke English. Or at least southern.
It's too late to really do anything before the game, so we take a little ride. We ended up in St. Bernard Parish. This is where the hospital was that the staff left patients there and got out. My company had a hospital there, too, but it was not that one. Ours was another children's behavioral, and the kids were shipped to another one. The devastation here was the worst we saw. Most houses were see through. Many Fema trailers, but more houses just empty. Only a few businesses open.
We headed to campus and took Elysian Fields. This is the main road to campus, which sits on Lake Ponchatrain. Most houses have a Fema trailer, but work has begun, and many homes look better than they did before. We know this neighborhood well. It will be better than it ever was. And all the businesses are open.
The games are being held in a small gym because Lakefront Arena was heavily damaged, mostly by high winds. The roof is in bad shape. So they're doing a huge renovation and upgrading with skyboxes and new seating. The gym we played in was a crackerbox that sat about 1500. Over 1000 were there, so it was pretty full. Our men played this night, and won by 18. UNO students apparently have a vocabulary of 4 words, and the nicer 2 were you suck. Not a happy bunch. We ate at Landry's after the game, the same folks that own Rainforest Cafe. This too, was overpriced. But goog.
The next day the temperature dropped to the forties and it rained all day. We drove downtown and ate lunch at Mother's. Had a shrimp po' boy for my niece. We drove to campus for the women's team shootaround, and watched the coaches play horse while the trainer ran the practice. Coach Cowles likes to keep things loose on game day. Back to the room, then back to campus via Subway. Not the subway, Subway. Almost wrong to eat there in New Orleans. On to the game, which we won by 11.
After the game, we went to the one place I have somehow missed in a dozen trips to the Crescent City, Cafe du Monde, the place for beignets. I'll never miss it again. They pile so much powdered sugar on them, you end up a total mess, so a goog thing to do at the end of the night. It was in the thirties by now, and the hot chocolate was heaven. The perfect temp, you could actually drink it, yet it was very warming. Worth the overprice.
Tomorrow, the trip home. Let me just say :scared1:

Marita - It is always much warmer here than there. Most of the fronts that make it to you don't make it down here. The past month we have had like 1 day a week in the low 70's, then one day high 70's the rest low 80's with high humidity. Miserable. We use our a/c most of the time.

Twinkie - I just watched A Baby Story and the baby was 11lbs at birth. Can you imagine? He looked so funny. It was a c-section though. Thank goodness! Doesn't your doctors office have seperate rooms for sick and well kids?

Moo - We won't get to take part in that deal. The tickets have to be bought by mid Feb or March. Something like that. So unless by some miracle he gets a great job before then, it won't happen.

PJ-7 outta 7, MOO HOOTYThe look means everything. Parents were always shocked I could just look at their kids and freeze them.

It always surprises me just how effective it is. I'm always like....wait, I'm scary? Apparently I am to a 7 year old!

Night, y'all.
:grouphug:

DTD-I can picture you doing the "teacher look".... thanks for the report- now I am craving hot chocolate and sugary beignets.
MP-My friend's last baby was almost 13 lbs. Thank goodness it was a c-section too- she insisted they had her due dates wrong and he was way "overcooked". The dr office does have separate waiting areas- sort of- there is one section semi-walled off but no one is real clear on which section is for sick kids. This family was trying to keep out of the way but the dad was entertaining the twins which of course looked like tons of fun. And being a 2 yr old boy, once Goldenchild realized I didn't want him to play with those kids- well nothing was going to stop him then. I hope Chad gets a job in time for you to get the FL resident deal.

DTD - You were in my backyard. Next time you come to Athens, tell me, and I'll fix you up with some better accomodations. Lawler's is the BEST!! Hope you give AL another try. My DH and son love Popeye's too. Me, not so much.

Regarding the baby math . . . yikes!!! Maybe the 9-month old was born a tad early, thus allowing the multi-week recuperation after the twins? Where's the bbn to explain how she admonishes the fathers-to-be about post-birth etiquette??!

DTD, thanks for Chapter 1 of the mini-TR! Those beignets and hot chocolate sound heavenly!!! I had some Tim Horton's hot chocolate today and it did not leave me on :cloud9:

Oh, so I was bending over the ferret cage tonight, wearing my headphones to listen to tv, to check the ferrets water. when I felt a tap on my back! So I looked down between my legs to spot 2 mens shoes. NONE I recognized :scared1:

Good morning.

I am super tired. I'll post and try to catch up later after much needed coffee.

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

We are home and semi-rested so it's time to get back to work/school. Thanks again for all the sweet words and happy thoughts for us.

It's hard to be sad about Granddaddy since we had him for so much longer than we could've ever expected. So many people came to pay respects and it was nice to see people that I hadn't seen in 20-30 years. It was a good day....a celebration of a life well lived.

And really how many people live to be 44 years old and still have grandparents? I had all four of my grandparents until 10 years ago. Honestly, I feel blessed.

DTD....Loved the NO report! I haven't been to the Cafe du Monde in many years but I still remember the beignets! Go Toppers!

Twink....Emily was 12 pounds at her one month check up. I remember the dr. looked at me and said...you need to get her out of these small diapers. Geez....I was just waiting til I ran out. DS weighed 25 at his six month check up! I KNOW!

PJ.....YAY for a PERFECT 7 and for the teacher look! Not everybody can master *the look*!

Allie....My mom worked til 66 and hated every minute of it. Good for your mom!

WT....PM please. I missed the last episode!

Everbody else....:wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
