I'm so cornfused! Hi Y'all.
GOOG MORNING!
Took me a few minutes to find it too. I got all caught up on the make-up thread!
Good news....Everyday Minerals works as well if not better than Bare Minerals according to most of the posters! Did ya hear that Wendee & Sandee??
And....I didn't know anything about this experiment with long threads clogging the arteries of the DIS til I woke up today! Webmaster Alex said he was experimenting with threads over 10K posts. And the Moover's thread is down and has 6K posts and the Peeps thread is UP and has 22K posts?![]()
Well, I would just looove to comments on last night's chatter but since it is currently unavailable....I'll just say......
THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY!
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
MP- I understand being overwhelmed by anything at this point. I barely can keep up with meals and laundry and kindergarten homework. I am a homeschooling mom dropout so I don't want to pressure you but I really don't think you will be happy with them in school. You spend almost as much time dealing with school as teaching school. Especially if you plan on taking them back out in a year. Since you school year round and all your children are bright- can you just take an extended vaction from school? or knock it down to the absolute bare bones- just reading? Lots of research shows that when you learn to read which is the major point of elementary school (age 4 vs 6 vs 10) has NO bearing on your long term academic success. I don't know anything about the laws in FL- here in KS it is very homeschool friendly. No tests. No mandatory reporting. You only have to keep track of attendance (hrs in school) but you don't even have to report that unless they have a reason to ask you.
All that said, my kids are in public school and watch spongebob. I draw the line at juice boxes but I am thinking of converting. Those babynurse kids look smart. Maybe my kids need juice boxes. Hmmm......
If not, I'd just like to thank everyone for their input on the issue. I got the Bare Minerals starter kit for Christmas and LOVE it. But. It's just a leetle bit orangey for me.
One of the posters on the minerals thread said that she went with Everyday Minerals because it's NOT orange looking. So. I reckon I'll get some samples and check it out.
NAB....Next time we're all at Disney we're gonna tie you down and do your make-up!You would love Bare Minerals (and Everyday Minerals too I suppose!) It's like not wearing make up at all.
MommyP....I missed your post last night. Hope everything is OK.![]()
Moo....This thread does run lots faster than the other but I need the birthday post from over there before they get rid of it or anything.
EVERYBODY ELSE!![]()
Glad everyone found us today....are we missing anyone , all the men I guess.
Woo, it finally worked. I tried the link this morning but got the dreaded "no permission" reply. Now I'm not sure I used the right one, but anyway, I am finally here!
We had our Finance Year End celbration today. 11;30-5:00, but only for those reporting to my VP, there are several other Finance VP's. Anyway, about 120 people. It was in the Wonders of Life Pavillion at Epcot. They had a buffet and tables set up in the flow area. The theme was "25 years of Epcot" and Year of a million dreams. So the menu was from 1982 in the Land pavillion (chicken (2 kinds), BBQ pork, pasta salad, baked pototes (sweet and white),corn, rolls, cornbread, salad. (almost forgot the salad, cause I don't eat rabbit food)
Before lunch they had trivia questions from what happened in 1982, both at Disney, Epcot, and nationally. I knew hardly any of them and declined to participate, LOL! After lunch, there was a scavenger hunt around Epcot for about 1 1/2 hours, which I also declined to participate in, then more games that I sat out at the pavilion (are you sensing a trend here?) The games were Guitar Hero, Human Battleship, Power of 10, Musical chairs, and Are you smarter than a 5th grader, with extra bonus points that could be earned by playing Dance Revolution. I watched a few games and decided it was time to hit my couch. We got gifts, too, "Disney Parks, Where Dreams come true" backpack, An Epcot T-shirt that says "EPCOT CENTER....The 21st century began October 1, 1982, the future starts now", and an Epcot 25th anniversary pin. (hey, I was actually there for the opening ceremony, holding balloons in some sort of silvery outfit).
The YOMD came in the from of random prize markings placed under chairs (for a portfolio) and a "dream squad" made up of party organizers handing out random prizes. The only one I saw was someone getting minigolf for 4.
The bad part today was that we were supposed to park in Guest Parking. OK, no big deal. I got there about 11am, and got parked almost in the very back of the 2nd row, behind the AAA and Handicapped spaces, so it was a long haul to the tram lane. But, guess what, NO TRAMS ARE RUNNING YETSo another LONG HAUL to the front of the park and over to Met Life.! Luckily on the way back the trams were running, go I got to skip a good portion of that walk (I HATE walking!) Next time, I'll park at the Poly, take monorail over or even at a resort nearby and take the bus.
One a someone unrelated note (but it happened today): Remember the snowman making contest we had before Christmas, and the winning team would get "fabulous prizes"? Knitfreak won for our region for her creation sporting a scarf knitted with pencils. So we got our prizes today, 2 AMC movie tickets each. I doubt my family will use them, since there is no AMC nearby (except at Disney), so I probably give them to knitfreak.
OK, I better post this now before it goes POOF, back to other comments a little later

Uh Ohh, not the juice box thing again. My dd just had one at Mc Donalds today (Dollar Menu-naires) and spilled half of it by squeezing it.
You forgot to pull up the "wings" for her. If you pull up the triangle sides(they look like wings) on juice boxes, it gives them something to hold on to, but NOT push all the juice all over their pretty clothes. This is a tried and true preschool tested method.![]()

All this Bare Minerals talk makes me want to go check it out. Some girls at my church use it and say it is wonderful, but I just don't see how powder is gonna cover up all the "oopsies" on my face. And as I get older, there seems to be more and more oopsies.

WHUUUUUT??? I did not know this!
It covers! DONT use your liquid foundation underneath. TRUST mama! You build your coverage. A concealor brush covers even more. Promise! It's a great spf and does NOT clog pores. You can "accidentally" sleep in it![]()
