Woo, it finally worked. I tried the link this morning but got the dreaded "no permission" reply. Now I'm not sure I used the right one, but anyway, I am finally here!

We had our Finance Year End celbration today. 11;30-5:00, but only for those reporting to my VP, there are several other Finance VP's. Anyway, about 120 people. It was in the Wonders of Life Pavillion at Epcot. They had a buffet and tables set up in the flow area. The theme was "25 years of Epcot" and Year of a million dreams. So the menu was from 1982 in the Land pavillion (chicken (2 kinds), BBQ pork, pasta salad, baked pototes (sweet and white),corn, rolls, cornbread, salad. (almost forgot the salad, cause I don't eat rabbit food :) )

Before lunch they had trivia questions from what happened in 1982, both at Disney, Epcot, and nationally. I knew hardly any of them and declined to participate, LOL! After lunch, there was a scavenger hunt around Epcot for about 1 1/2 hours, which I also declined to participate in, then more games that I sat out at the pavilion (are you sensing a trend here?) The games were Guitar Hero, Human Battleship, Power of 10, Musical chairs, and Are you smarter than a 5th grader, with extra bonus points that could be earned by playing Dance Revolution. I watched a few games and decided it was time to hit my couch. We got gifts, too, "Disney Parks, Where Dreams come true" backpack, An Epcot T-shirt that says "EPCOT CENTER....The 21st century began October 1, 1982, the future starts now", and an Epcot 25th anniversary pin. (hey, I was actually there for the opening ceremony, holding balloons in some sort of silvery outfit).

The YOMD came in the from of random prize markings placed under chairs (for a portfolio) and a "dream squad" made up of party organizers handing out random prizes. The only one I saw was someone getting minigolf for 4.

The bad part today was that we were supposed to park in Guest Parking. OK, no big deal. I got there about 11am, and got parked almost in the very back of the 2nd row, behind the AAA and Handicapped spaces, so it was a long haul to the tram lane. But, guess what, NO TRAMS ARE RUNNING YET:scared1: So another LONG HAUL to the front of the park and over to Met Life.! Luckily on the way back the trams were running, go I got to skip a good portion of that walk (I HATE walking!) Next time, I'll park at the Poly, take monorail over or even at a resort nearby and take the bus.

One a someone unrelated note (but it happened today): Remember the snowman making contest we had before Christmas, and the winning team would get "fabulous prizes"? Knitfreak won for our region for her creation sporting a scarf knitted with pencils. So we got our prizes today, 2 AMC movie tickets each. I doubt my family will use them, since there is no AMC nearby (except at Disney), so I probably give them to knitfreak.

OK, I better post this now before it goes POOF, back to other comments a little later

Sandy - that is cute with the video. We didn't have any characters until after our race. :confused3 Guess ours wasn't long enough.

We had one of our preschool teachers accidentally take videos of her kids this week instead of photos. :headache: Needless to say, she doesn't usually take the pictures, and she has pretty much assured herself that she will never have to take them again.:rotfl2: I'm sure that may have been her thinking all along. If I mess these up, they will never ask me to do it again. Funny thing, I never knew our school camera would take videos. Who got to redo the pics? MOI!

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Took me a few minutes to find it too. I got all caught up on the make-up thread!

Good news....Everyday Minerals works as well if not better than Bare Minerals according to most of the posters! Did ya hear that Wendee & Sandee??

And....I didn't know anything about this experiment with long threads clogging the arteries of the DIS til I woke up today! Webmaster Alex said he was experimenting with threads over 10K posts. And the Moover's thread is down and has 6K posts and the Peeps thread is UP and has 22K posts? :confused3

Well, I would just looove to comments on last night's chatter but since it is currently unavailable....I'll just say......

THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Ok....on the bare Minerals, the medium is a coolish shade, the "medium beige" is a warmish shade. I combine to get a neutral. VERY little warmth. If "medium" is too orange, go all "medium beige". If indeed you are in the medium family. ;) I got some "Fresh Minerals" at Costco and it's not nearly as good as BM.On "Sheer Minerals" I can't find the perfect shade. I get TONS of compliments with BM. BUT, I'd like to try Everyday Minerals too. As long as there's NO talc (I'm sensitive to talc).

The Costco version is in prettier packaging yet isn't nearly as good. The bristles fall out of the brushes left and right.

My very favorite color in BM for eyes is "True" that came in my starter package last year. At Sephora and Nordstrom it's available in a huge jar. I think I'll pick some up after I win the lottery or get our taxes back.

MP- I understand being overwhelmed by anything at this point. I barely can keep up with meals and laundry and kindergarten homework. I am a homeschooling mom dropout so I don't want to pressure you but I really don't think you will be happy with them in school. You spend almost as much time dealing with school as teaching school. Especially if you plan on taking them back out in a year. Since you school year round and all your children are bright- can you just take an extended vaction from school? or knock it down to the absolute bare bones- just reading? Lots of research shows that when you learn to read which is the major point of elementary school (age 4 vs 6 vs 10) has NO bearing on your long term academic success. I don't know anything about the laws in FL- here in KS it is very homeschool friendly. No tests. No mandatory reporting. You only have to keep track of attendance (hrs in school) but you don't even have to report that unless they have a reason to ask you.

All that said, my kids are in public school and watch spongebob. I draw the line at juice boxes but I am thinking of converting. ;) Those babynurse kids look smart. Maybe my kids need juice boxes. Hmmm......

Uh Ohh, not the juice box thing again. My dd just had one at Mc Donalds today (Dollar Menu-naires) and spilled half of it by squeezing it.

If not, I'd just like to thank everyone for their input on the issue. I got the Bare Minerals starter kit for Christmas and LOVE it. But. It's just a leetle bit orangey for me.

One of the posters on the minerals thread said that she went with Everyday Minerals because it's NOT orange looking. So. I reckon I'll get some samples and check it out.

NAB....Next time we're all at Disney we're gonna tie you down and do your make-up! You would love Bare Minerals (and Everyday Minerals too I suppose!) It's like not wearing make up at all.

MommyP
....I missed your post last night. Hope everything is OK.

Moo....This thread does run lots faster than the other but I need the birthday post from over there before they get rid of it or anything.

EVERYBODY ELSE!
:wave2:

I didn't see the tail end of the Moover's thread. :sad1: I have a feeling this change will be permanent. :cool2:

OT: the old band Heart was on Ellen today and they played Baracuda!!!!! Isn't that the best song? I MUST attempt it on Guitar Hero.

Glad I found Y'all! I was lost before. :upsidedow

Marita -- all those games sounded fun. I remember you saying that you were there for the opening. You need to get out more...go see a movie. When was the last time you went to the show.

Nicholas has his dance tonight and hubby is dragging me out shopping while he is there. He wants to go look at other kitchen stuff. I would love to see a picture in a magazine and say that is the one I want just do it !!!

Glad everyone found us today....are we missing anyone , all the men I guess.

Nab, I think PJ had trouble posting here for some reason:confused3

And Bonnie has not been here. I am sure there are a few more, but I can't think right now. Haley , for one, and Javamom, although the rarely post here. Still, nice ladies.

ACK, I had a late brainfart, we are missing BBN!!!!!!!!!!!

Nab, I don't like going to the movies, that is why I don't go. I'll wait for the DVD or TV instead.

Oh, movies, reminds me. "27 Dresses". The local paper had an article the other day about 30+ friends dressing up in bridesmaid dresses to go see the movie, LOL.

Marita cool trip report - you needed pictures of the food *wink!! I still chuckle at neatfreak - I am so going to remember to knit with pencils, someday that may come in handy!! I hate gift certificates - I ahve a few waiting to be used - bad me!! AMC - you cant be tired of Disney already!! Love that you will park at Poly and monorail over!! :thumbsup2

QueenMineralUserUmaWENDY I dont ever remember the colors!! I buy the good deals on QVC for eye colors - I love the one under brow color - its not vanilla sugar, but looks like it - its more glittery, I know I'm too old for glitter, but I like the BE glitter, its less intense...

OK, my mind is sluggish again, I've sat too long, time for anap...

Marita- I get so thrilled when I win even lame prizes!

You should be exhausted!

Juice Box User!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

May I just say I am not a user!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I ran into a guy today at the party. he and his wife came over to our mobile home (EXPANDO even) back in the 70's. He is looking old, went all white hair ( I shouldnt talk with my wrinlles and stuff). So I asked him, when are you you thinking of retiring. He said, probably this summer :scared1:

I am so jealous.

I think I figured out what I want to do for retirement.
Do websites independently, on my own schedule. No prescribed work hours. I dont want to work from 7pm to 1am at Tinkerbelle shop, sorry, Lexi. I have a good amount of flexibility with my schedule now, and I dont want to give that up.

What I really want to do is ride a golf cart in the Villages and go to club meetings, :thumbsup2 Only not likely. Plus DS has been doing some jobs there lately, and he says people are REALLy old. So I dont know.
Anyway, 5 more years to go.

Only problem is, I don't know how to do that :rotfl:
Although I did take a course some years ago, but not enough to be good enough for real money. Bottom line is, I want to be independent and not be told when and how long to be where.:rolleyes1

How could I forget those two ladies. I am really out of it today. Actually just tried.

If it wasn't for Nicholas being out at the dance I think I would be heading to bed.

We looked at kitchen taps and sinks...they all look the same to me....:rotfl: The price on the other hand are not. A whole wall of them and hubby says which one do you like. :confused3

I just realized I had to reset my timezone on User CP. I was an hour off!

And to whine about children. My DD did her tax return today. She asked me some quetions, I helped her.

So in the end. she gets $500 so back. She says to me, when YOU did it, I only got $200 back!!!!!!!!

I beg your pardon, DD, but it all depends how much you earn and how much they withhold!!!!!!!!

This was form EZ, not rocket science, PLUS I have an accounting degree!!!!!!!!!
And of course she whines that we insist to claim her as a dependent, as she LIVES IN THE HOUSE!

GRRRRRRRRRR, KIDS!!!

Uh Ohh, not the juice box thing again. My dd just had one at Mc Donalds today (Dollar Menu-naires) and spilled half of it by squeezing it.

You forgot to pull up the "wings" for her. If you pull up the triangle sides(they look like wings) on juice boxes, it gives them something to hold on to, but NOT push all the juice all over their pretty clothes. This is a tried and true preschool tested method. ;) :thumbsup2

All this Bare Minerals talk makes me want to go check it out. Some girls at my church use it and say it is wonderful, but I just don't see how powder is gonna cover up all the "oopsies" on my face. :confused3 And as I get older, there seems to be more and more oopsies. ;)

Hey gang! Have a great weekend. For some reason, this thread would not show up when I clicked on the link from Bib.

Thanks for missing me, Marita. I see juice boxes were discussed in my absence.;)

WHUUUUUT??? I did not know this!

It covers! DONT use your liquid foundation underneath. TRUST mama! You build your coverage. A concealor brush covers even more. Promise! It's a great spf and does NOT clog pores. You can "accidentally" sleep in it :rolleyes1

Wendy, could you please come give me personal lessons next time you come down? I'll pay you even, above basysitting rates! And give me hair advice! That could be a very lucrative day for you!!!!!!!!!!! I mean it!

Signed,
Sincerely, Marita

I would LOVE to have a personal beauty advisor! (beauty being a relative term, LOL) You know what I mean!

Hey, that gives me an idea! An all female getogether in a random hotel room for hairbraiding and general tips exchange while sipping on diet pepsis or margaritas, or other beverages of choice.

Popping in to say that I ended up going to my coworkers'/friends' house after work for dinner and drinks and didn't leave til about midnight. We had a pretty busy week at work ad were chatting about it for hours with another friend from work.

I'll be around tomorrow and will get caught up on my games . . .

what??! happening??? to all the old stuff..did they dispose of it properly?

did someone give ours ...a proper burial? :flower3: where c~girl when

...sadly...i never got caught up..whew..we 've been soooo busy lately.
..i do hope...you caught a lil' vantages..of not only ..recognizing reality..
but using it....& why...it may seem over the top.., you can't imagine
how..sucessful...it is! :yay: [and we go @ it all the time]. * but
the biggest advantage...is the "kick back"....looking back, i would not
be enjoying life....without having to been force..learning the abc's

of the ongoing...manipulations...by refering to other teams? illinois..i was so

 ...how they downgraded their players..after the rose..bowl! & using
the final score..idiots!..they should take "using" & switched the "letters"..

no illi..fan. still...that game..was decided on 2 plays..if one evulated the
teams ..in reality. & once again.."home field"..came to play, having an
unfair advantage....but let's really "look"..how bad this can be~~~pitt.
did beat..west v.,....oh my.....but watching the game..anyone could
see how hard the referees..were working it for west v....they took away
2 td's...from pitt! now applied such advantages....to the bowl games...

dynasty ?...* if osu head coach..hired the previous coach..for recruiting,
they would win.....multiple championships....not that it really matter.
so are you wondering..who i think..it will be...next year? osu and
floirda ..again.

oh, i haven't got around..yet... but i will post some of our pics..:thumbsup2
but i don't want to hear about any...over the hill, mountain, comments...

..strangely..enough..we didn't have many run-ins with uncouthness...
..even all the south a.'s gangs..were well-manner ( probably leftovers
after utahm..run from october, my guess). darn it..i didn't get to used
my psycho skills... ..

* after..fanstasia...some man..old enough..to know better was cutting
