Before lunch they had trivia questions from what happened in 1982, both at Disney, Epcot, and nationally. I knew hardly any of them and declined to participate, LOL! After lunch, there was a scavenger hunt around Epcot for about 1 1/2 hours, which I also declined to participate in, then more games that I sat out at the pavilion (are you sensing a trend here?) The games were Guitar Hero, Human Battleship, Power of 10, Musical chairs, and Are you smarter than a 5th grader, with extra bonus points that could be earned by playing Dance Revolution. I watched a few games and decided it was time to hit my couch. We got gifts, too, "Disney Parks, Where Dreams come true" backpack, An Epcot T-shirt that says "EPCOT CENTER....The 21st century began October 1, 1982, the future starts now", and an Epcot 25th anniversary pin. (hey, I was actually there for the opening ceremony, holding balloons in some sort of silvery outfit).

The YOMD came in the from of random prize markings placed under chairs (for a portfolio) and a "dream squad" made up of party organizers handing out random prizes. The only one I saw was someone getting minigolf for 4.

The bad part today was that we were supposed to park in Guest Parking. OK, no big deal. I got there about 11am, and got parked almost in the very back of the 2nd row, behind the AAA and Handicapped spaces, so it was a long haul to the tram lane. But, guess what, NO TRAMS ARE RUNNING YET:scared1: So another LONG HAUL to the front of the park and over to Met Life.! Luckily on the way back the trams were running, go I got to skip a good portion of that walk (I HATE walking!) Next time, I'll park at the Poly, take monorail over or even at a resort nearby and take the bus.

You had like the bestest day that any one of of us would have LOVED to have had and you "declined to participate" in everything! :lmao: That is SO not right, Marita!

And that "long haul" would have been considered "close parking" to our family and we would have walked, willingly so as to not have to deal with the "Scary Mad Tram Dash" :rolleyes1

Ok....on the bare Minerals, the medium is a coolish shade, the "medium beige" is a warmish shade. I combine to get a neutral. VERY little warmth. If "medium" is too orange, go all "medium beige". If indeed you are in the medium family. ;) I got some "Fresh Minerals" at Costco and it's not nearly as good as BM.On "Sheer Minerals" I can't find the perfect shade. I get TONS of compliments with BM. BUT, I'd like to try Everyday Minerals too. As long as there's NO talc (I'm sensitive to talc).

The Costco version is in prettier packaging yet isn't nearly as good. The bristles fall out of the brushes left and right.

My very favorite color in BM for eyes is "True" that came in my starter package last year. At Sephora and Nordstrom it's available in a huge jar. I think I'll pick some up after I win the lottery or get our taxes back.

I never noticed BM being orangish. There is no talc in Everyday Minerals(so says their website). My bristles fall out of my BM brushes left and right. :headache:

I only have, Faux Fox, Well Rested and Never too Rich Brown eye shadows. That is not to say I don't also have Coffee Bean eye liner, which I never use, and True, which I didn't know was eye shadow. Although I do use it to add a hint of glitter to my eyes sometimes and also my cheeks. I also have Glee face color which I like to use on occasion. Last night I combined it with True for a fancy goingouttodinner look.

Wendy - Do you use the True by itself for eye color or combine it with something else?

I will take one for the team. I ordered free samples of Everyday Minerals yesterday. Two sets actually. I had one sent here and one sent to my Mom's. :cool2:

QueenMineralUserUmaWENDY I dont ever remember the colors!! I buy the good deals on QVC for eye colors - I love the one under brow color - its not vanilla sugar, but looks like it - its more glittery, I know I'm too old for glitter, but I like the BE glitter, its less intense...
You can never be too old for glitter. ;)
You forgot to pull up the "wings" for her. If you pull up the triangle sides(they look like wings) on juice boxes, it gives them something to hold on to, but NOT push all the juice all over their pretty clothes. This is a tried and true preschool tested method. ;) :thumbsup2

All this Bare Minerals talk makes me want to go check it out. Some girls at my church use it and say it is wonderful, but I just don't see how powder is gonna cover up all the "oopsies" on my face. :confused3 And as I get older, there seems to be more and more oopsies. ;)

1. You are a genius for that idea.

2. You HAVE to get some BM. I almost always have at least 1 "blemish" on my face and with BM on you can't even tell it's their anymore.
It's a great spf and does NOT clog pores. You can "accidentally" sleep in it :rolleyes1
I always put it in before the beach because of the SPF. :lovestruc and I "accidentally" slept in it last night.

Hey, that gives me an idea! An all female getogether in a random hotel room for hairbraiding and general tips exchange while sipping on diet pepsis or margaritas, or other beverages of choice.

That is the BEST idea! We totally need a girls night out like that next time we're all in WDW together! :cheer2:

I am going to post this and then move onto other things so I don't lose it all!

I can't believe I beat everyone up this morning!

We had a date last night. Big boys went to stay the night at Mom's and Isaac spent the evening with my sister and her DH. They wanted practice before Little John arrives(only 3 more weeks!!!!!) We went to The Melting Pot. We used to go every anniversary, but then we couldn't make it one year and then we couldn't make it another and so on. We had planned on going out last night and Chad called and made reservations for their without me knowing. I got to get all dressed up and made up. It was wonderful! Yay for having to pump and having a buttload of milk stored up! Of course I missed Isaac like crazy! He was in goog hands though. And the best thing is he had a craptastophe for his Aunt Boofer! He had one on Tuesday for me and then didn't poop Wednesday or yesterday so I warned her that it might happen. It was all up his back and everything! :rotfl: And THAT was the FIRST infant poopy diaper she had EVER changed. She always took a hands off approach with all the other kids.

So Isaac got to test out all of Little John's things last night. They had a good time with him and John actually fed him a bottle. I didn't think he would go anywhere near my breastmilk. And he changed a diaper. They are now officially ready for parenthood.

It's now time for an offical vent about my ***** older sister. Feel free to NOT skim. ;)

Last week on the way to the shower the following conversation occured:

Me: Mom, last night we went online to see what our appliances would have cost at Sears.

Back story, I forgot to tell you all about our appliances. I think. Last Friday we went to a scratch and dent Appliances store to buy our appliances. We had to spend $550 of our own money but were able to buy a 25.5 cubic ft. stainless steel french door GE Profile refrigerator with Turbo Cool and Freeze, and Ice and Water in the DOOR! Retail Value: $2500. We paid $930 because their are tiny scratches on the front. We also got a Ge Profile stainless steel Dishwasher, valued at $800, paid $319 and a Maytag Convection oven, stainless steel. Value $800, paid $406.

Okay, back to the conversation.

Me: Mom, last night we went online to see what our appliances would have cost at Sears. The refrigerator is $2500, the stove is $800 and the dishwasher is $800.

Old Sister: Where did you go?

Me: Appliance Direct

Old Sister: We went their yesterday looking for a refrigerator.

Me: We got a GE Profile french door

Old Sister: That's what we were looking for. They only had stainless steel. The man tried to sell it to us. I told him, "You see all those finger prints? I do NOT want that in my house." (said very snobby)

(thankfully they didn't get it because they were there before us and we ended up buying that same one!)

Old Sister: You got stainless steel?

Me: Yeah, I don't mind having to keep it clean. I like stainless steel. It will look really nice against our cabinets.

Conversation fades out...

We of course have our appliances, but cannot put them in our house yet because it's not done.

So last night I find out that someone went out and bought all new STAINLESS STEEL appliances(they don't even have their tax return yet) before we could even get ours in our house!

Why is it that after she hears that we are getting such a high end thing in our house she suddenly loves it and changes every appliances in her house to it and before they even have the cash to do it? They could have waited until their tax return comes, know why she didn't? Because then we would have had ours in the house first. She always does this and it really ticks me off. When we were first married and buying their old house, but they were taking FOREVER to get a new house and move out I decided I wanted to do a bird house decorating theme. Before I could do it in my house, she bought a TON of birdhouse things and did it in hers. Then for the past few years I've talked about painting my kitchen red when we got our house built. Guess who painted hers red a few months ago? I made the mistake of saying that Chad traded out work with the plumber so we could get a nice black sink. I wouldn't be surprised if she suddenly gets one before us. :headache:

She is such a manipulator. I don't know if I ever told you all about the Great Dresser Fight of '07. Our Aunt sent an e-mail saying she had a big dresser and a small kids dresser to give away. Mom sent the e-mail to myself and Kelly. I replied first saying I wanted the big one and I'd take both if Kelly didn't want the small one. I knew that she was going to pull something, but we really needed the dresser because some of our kids are living out of rubbermaid. But she lied and manipulated her way to the better dresser. It ended up in a big huge fight, which brought about some kind of healing and talking about feelings. In the end I did the selfless thing and told her to keep the big dresser, we'd find something else. Guess who has both dressers now?
Me. Someone else gave them a better one and so she gave it back to us. :headache:

Vent over, return to skimming. ;)

My fingers hurt.

I need to get dressed and fold laundry before I go over to my Mom's.

Chad took the CJBAT on Wednesday, we'll get the results on Tuesday. His application is now ready to submit. Pray he makes it in!

I am going metal detecting today at our house. In the backyard their his this neat hill that runs through our yard and down through the other lots. It is rumored that long ago it was a railroad track that hauled cattle through the area. It used to all be ranches. It would be super cool to find something proving that rumor to be true. :cool2:

Everyone have a good weekend!

I'll post picture later.

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Spent a good bit of time this morning on the EM site and ordered the free sample kit and a lip gloss. I think Wendy's right.....my BM shade is too "warm" for me so I'm trying out the cooler shades in EM.

Mom just called to say that today is probably Granddaddy's last day. He's been barely hanging on for a week or so and we knew it would be soon. She says that his limbs are turning dark and his breathing is labored...so probably today.

Please don't be sad. He's almost 98 and has lived a good life so he's just headed home today....finally free of that body that has been failing him for the last 10 years. I'm only sad for Grandmother as she will be devastated. They have been married for almost 68 years. Please pray for her.

But....here at home...the show must go on. Basketball game this morning and dance competition all afternoon...to be topped off with an 8:30-10:30 birthday party this evening. Good times.

I'll check back later..........

HAVE A GOOD SATURDAY, EVERYONE!

Luther - It's always great when a saved loved one lives a long life and finally gets to go home! I will pray for your Grandmother. How hard to lose your DH after 68 years!

sorry about your grandfather.......yes getting old is hard on the spouses who are left behind......and 98 is a great great age. Even my mama was 93.....but it was still hard on us..

Today is a sunny day so far....sitting here in the front room with my coffee ....hubby in the other chair with his coffee and megara wanting to lick the cup..She loves coffee and tries to get her tongue in it when he is drinking.....to funny to see..

last night we went to Home Depot and got faucets for the second floor apartment to replace. My mom didnt want anything new up there except the ceiling lights. THird floor is finished.....second floor is partially done and then it will be us to downsize......alot of stuff in the cellar........even sleds that belonged to our oldest granddaughter.....she wanted purple I remember to match her purple ski parka.....and here she is a first year college student......

Hope that all are fine today and keep smiling.......as we are always close by with a click of the mouse..

I'm awake... sorta....

Lil G 2am!! you were very talkative!!

Aldisneygrl I cant believe know one knew that wings trick - Teaching at a preschool when ds was 2 - 20 YEARS AGO - we did that - (they can still squeeze the juice, but it gives them something to hold onto - and for girls just mentioning wings gives them imagination cues!!)

Marita I'm in - I did fdil face with BE - she became a believer, until she went home - now, not sure - she bought some mineral makeup at that $1 site Face Eyes Lips... something...

Lexmelinda glad everyone is in a good place - death brings memories - and families together... :grouphug:

mommyP sad that you have to "keep quiet" around your sister - that's insane- - she sounds so insecure - dont give in to it!! Sounds like a fun dig!! (the metal stuff)

Pumba the purple sled sounds so cute!!

Tax rebate anyone? Its so the talk of everyone! I just keep thinking if they can fund the war, they can fund the homefront - but we're going to have to pay it back... but what a gift for the wedding!! (and college age kids get nothin - I have 2 in college, they have cut all those funding programs, and cant give us a break?? See, its never enough!! ;) )

My two baby grandkids are coming today.....yah their mama and papa too are coming.......but my babies are coming........I love to see them.....Owen is three and red head and Megan is one and blonde.....both so darn cute.

Okey metal detecting is one thing but if it was a cattle car...woudlnt there had been alot of cows and poop....but those dont set off detectors......I told hubby I would love to have one...watched the cash adn treasure program and she used it the other night......loved it.....

Off to get the house kid proof.....see you later gators........

see we are still a GROUP even if it isnt a hundred million posts......we are what we are ....friends and GOOG friends:grouphug:

Hope that all are fine today and keep smiling.......as we are always close by with a click of the mouse..
What a great sentiment, Marie.

MP, glad you got your appliances all lined up!!!

Marita, thanks for telling us about your day!

Melinda, sending you a  Yesterday would have been my Grandma's 101th birthday. We were so happy she made it to 100 before she gave up the fight in April. I was thinking of her all day yesterday and I think she was looking out for me.

Shortly after I left for work yesterday, a pick-up truck swerved into my lane and was coming at me head-on before he swerved back into his own lane and I could see him fishtailing down the road in my rear view mirror. Thank God he swerved back into his own lane. I slowed down when I saw him coming at me and was ready to head off into the ditch. I'm not quite sure how he ended up in my lane because the road was clear. Maybe he was looking at his cell phone or nodded off :confused3 Anyway, I went around the corner and pulled over until the adrenaline stopped pumping.

If my sister isn't interested in going to see a movie, I intend to have a total bum-laying day today. We were supposed to go last weekend, but she was sick. Maybe I'll finally take down the Christmas tree  I found out yesterday that a couple of my coworkers still have their trees up (and one is a real tree)! In the past, the latest my tree has been up was Valentine's Day :lmao:

Hi to everyone else!!! Hope you all have a great Saturday :woohoo:

Is the old thread gone for good?

SANDY- It's your turn (wink) popcorn::

 I hope it's not gone for good! We need to recover bbn's poem and a couple other things.

Didn't realize that I was uncovering such a secret? :lmao: :rotfl2: Guess it just gets the girls ready for later in life. :rolleyes1

Mom just called to say that today is probably Granddaddy's last day. He's been barely hanging on for a week or so and we knew it would be soon. She says that his limbs are turning dark and his breathing is labored...so probably today.

It is still not easy to lose a loved one. We'll be thinking of you and your Grandma today. Sounds like he has lived a good life though.

MommyP
- Sounds like you need to trade your sister in for a newer shineyer model. :cool2: :lmao: Sorry you have had to deal with family drama. We are here for you to yell at. Bring it on, we can take it! And if it helps out our dear MommyP, all the better. Hope you find cool treasures at the new house today.

ok girls, now I have dark circles under my eyes. (think raccoon :rolleyes1 ) Can BM help me with that? I've always thought that I had to have concealer to hide it. I use the yellow kind. Then when you use concealer, you have to go ahead and use foundation, then powder. See my vicious cycle. If BM could help that would be cool. Please tell me where to find this magical stuff.

Nab, I think PJ had trouble posting here for some reason:confused3
Yes. Everytime I went to post it would say I was logged out and then not let me log in. So I gave up and posted over there but it looks like I'm both here and there now. Scary?

I would venture to guess the bbn still has that poem somewhere. And if she doesn't I think I have it in my PM's from when I was assigned to proofreading it and I bet she'd LOVE it if I provided it for y'all. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend.

Al - BM has concealers. They are powder like everything else. But work wonders at hiding blemishes.

Can someone clue me in as to what "over there" is?

OOOOH HOW CUTE!!!!

I love him!

He looks so content and happy. What a handsome little man :cloud9:

Thanks for posting the pics!

Thanks for the sweet words, everybody!

Mom called not long after I posted this morning to say that he was gone. We will leave tomorrow. Like I said, it's more a celebration of his life. What a blessing to have lived all these years and to watch your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow up. And now he's in heaven with his parents and all of his siblings.

Here's a picture of Grandaddy, Grandmother, and my mom. Isn't he handsome?

crop0053.jpg

He used to get that suit out once in a while when I was a kid to show me that it still fit. He was always tall and thin just like in the picture. I will miss him.

Oops I forgot this one.

Major group hug for Melinda :grouphug: Your Grandpa was indeed a handsome man. What a neat story about still being able to fit into his suit. Know that you and your family will be in our thoughts.

Glad you were able to finally join us, Peej! I hope you or bbn do have the poem, it was a classic.

I am deep into bum laying today :thumbsup2

MommyP, thanks for sharing the photos. Isaac is adorable!!! I especially loved the brotherly kiss  The house is looking great. And so are you!!!!!!!

Hope you had fun treasure hunting. My DH has a metal detector that he uses on the very rare occasions when I drag him to the beach.

Allie, I have questions about the mineral makeup too. I have always been leery of using powdery makeup items because it would get into my eyes back when I wore contact lenses and feel gritty (e.g., powder eye shadow). I figure that would still bother me. But I am tempted to try the free samples even though I typically only wear makeup to special events like weddings.

Hi MOOvers!

Melinda, I'm praying for your granddaddy and your entire family. I hope you all can truly find solace in the memories you've shared with him throughout the years. God bless.

MommyP, the house looks like it's coming along beautifully. Do you have an expected occupancy date, or is it too early to have that info yet? Also, didn't you tell us you had a baby very recently? You certainly don't look like it....you look positively svelte! And Isaac is adorable!

Moo, a day of bum-laying sounds like heaven right about now. DH came home early from work, as he is dealing with a stomach flu that is apparently running rampant through his office. He is not a happy guy, and unfortunately, there's not much I can do to help him. I've managed to keep the kids as far away from him as possible today. I hope that he doesn't pass it on to the rest of us. :guilty:

Off to take my turn at the Unmentionable Game. See ya later!
