Welp, It's 4:00 at the butt crackof Dawn and I just wanted to beat Melindee to her "job"....not really on purpose though. edited to add: CURSES, she beat me!

My jaw is back to popping and clicking :confused3 but we'll see what my dentist says today. I had the heated rice-sock on it all night and I'm all hopped up on Motrin 800's, which totally helps.

Day 7 of the Caffeine Chronicles....I'm down to 1-2 cans total! I prolly save $5 a DAY. Isn't that the equivalent savings per year to a 7 day Poly stay for 2? ;) I currently have a mother of a headaches to stop in it's tracks. (Ker POP! That's my Pepsi Max can opening)

RobIn- Although I don't "do country" style since we moved to our dream home 3 years ago, that is one nice sofa. I had one in a very similar style but it was a huge plaid and no wood on top. MY golden retrievers were still puppies then and chewed it to helk  It's so fun getting new stuff for your house! I've been looking at my one RED living room wall (the vaulted one) thinking I need either new furniture, or a gallon of paint to change that out a little (or a lot). Since paint is cheaper, I think that's the ticket, since our focus is the downstairs Wilderness Lodge.....and craft room mama cave. I KNEW you caved and had ice cream

Moo- OUCH...both in pain and plan-messing-up.

Marita- I agree about the peeps thing. I love you guys even though I don't get to chat very often.

Monica
- One bedroom villa at Saratoga...ohhh how nice is that place! I think that's what we toured on our DVC sales pitch thing. Course we thought about the 2 rooms. Your DH has a super cool job. Think of it as a nice little break for when he gets home  (bow chicka bow wow) By the weigh, it's weigh day sister! I'm anxious to see how you did, Miss SuperStar!

Peej- You are so smart to smile and wave. I need to learn that skill. It's a huge compliment that that mama wanted to cry to lose you. GOOD sitters are hard to find.

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!!!

I just put together an outfit of items of clothing I have never worn together before and it all looks surprisingly good. Yet I don't think it's warm enough d/t I'm a freezecat. Am I willing to be cold to look cute? :scratchin

McCreepster...your family appears to have bought the same couches all over again. Just sayin. And there is a happy medium between no junk food and donut holes, sodas, and candy bars. :sad2:

Lexi....Etown = Elizabethtown, like in the movie. I get it. But it made me think of it as EliSabethtown as in stalking the bbn even more than usual and that made me laugh. And I think I've just demonstrated that sometimes it's best not to ask me questions.
Little sister still needs a life plan. She doesn't even know what her major will be. But she does say she wants to go to college in Tennessee/Alabama/Georgia, so we'll see.

Utah...Thanks. :) I gripe about those kids, but I really do care a lot about them and I'll miss them. Hopefully I can pass the torch onto my sister when I go. I teach Smiling and Nodding 101, if you're ever interested.

Have a happy FRIDAY everyone!!!! :dance3:

Rob....we do not purchase nor drink soda at the lexmelinda household. It's water or milk here. Soda is a waste of money and calories. It has no redeeming value.

For the record, I have drunk no pop the last two days but not by conscientious choice -- just haven't wanted one. That is not uncommon for me during the week but I do enjoy my diet soft drinks on the weekend. Calories are zero (though I know they are full of sweetening chemicals that are going to kill me) and waste of money is in the eye of the beholder in that, to me, the taste and carbonation "experience" is worth the money (but then I only have a $1.50 a week "habit" :) ).

Touche.

Enjoy your vice. As vices go, it's not a bad one. ;)

MommyP- ahhh the joys of motherhood. Mustard included. :cool2:

Did you have a spare outfit or buy him a new one? Well? What cool baby stuff did you get? I love that store! (loved)

You need to go to the Disboutiquers thread on the Family Board and look at all the COOL stuff these mamas have made. There's a photo album link on the first page. No one has made a sling I don't think...you should share! Lots have done cute fabric covered wipe boxes..tres chic.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1769919

Even NON sewers have gotten great starts here. Celery and I are there so you have a comfortable "IN".

I had a spare outfit for him and wet ones cleaned the poo out of Chad's shirt, good as new. We got him some little toys. He loves to lay on the floor and play. He is my only baby to grab at toys and play with them. I got him a cute Leap Frog caterpillar toy, a cool gym thingamabob and a stationary "walker". It has more toys on it than anything I've ever seen and it rotates 360 around the base. Super cool. I also got him a denim crib skirt and bumper that were on sale.

I agree with wendy, mommyp.
Join the dark side!
it's addictive.
and sickening.
cuz these people are talented.
Not THESE on this thread.
I meant on the boutique thread. ha.

I really want heather or teresa (sisters that post and I get them mixed up) to make me a giselle dress for the pirates and princess party.
argh.

I went to michael's today to look for fabric and forgot they don't sell fabric.
:(

I'll have to pass on the sewing club. I can barely keep up with this thread and now I've become obsessed with a baby wearing message board.

For a nice change, I made eggs and those big link sausage from Costco and toast/OJ for my kids on a regular school day rather than on a holiday weekend. I'm in the BEST mood since losing between 6 and 9 pounds this week. 9 yesterday and 6 this morning....3 pound discrepancy over night??? THAT's what I get for pre-bragging on the WISH thread about the 9 pounds...the great weight loss jinx I experience all too often.

But, now my house smells like sausage....YUM! Nothing gets my juices flowing quite like the prospect of Akins Approved breakfast of champions.

My kids are confused at my good morning mood. It's just so weird. Their used to me squawking about getting their beds made, teeth brushed, back packs organized etc.

Off to eat me some serious breakfast meat. Luckily I've got the Motrin 800 on board to OPEN my poor mouth.

Good Morning Everyone!!!
Touche.

Enjoy your vice. As vices go, it's not a bad one. ;)

Soda is my vice as well. I drink diet and I give it up every now and again just to prove I can. I do think it makes you eat more though. I haven't figured that out. :confused3 Mr. Twinks drinks iced tea. Little twinkie children rarely have soda though. Water or milk (and mainly water) for them.

1. Reason #12 why I like wipes: they have detergent that works as stain remover. I have removed spots (and not just baby related stains) from all sorts of stuff.

2. :rotfl: OH NO! Those people are crazy. Soon you will be raising goats, making redneck slip-n-slides and homeschooling;) Um... nevermind. Go right ahead and enjoy!

What a good mom you are Wendee! Glad you're in a good mood and your TMJ is doing better with the medicine to help it. I'm sure it would be hard to take in a big link sausage with your jaws closed shut (though like I said yesterday, there is always the puree/baby food option for you).

-- Rob

Twinkie- I proved I could do it without being too cranky. That's that hard part for me. Luckily with my jaw pain, it was easier than I thought.

I need to know reasons 1-11 why you like wipes! #12 is stain removal properties. :confused3

BFF- I'm soooo not a good mommy. Usually they get self-serve cold cereal or a nice generic pop tart- untoasted. Ok, the breakfast of champions was difficult to eat :guilty: I wanted to HORK but ended up cutting eggs and sausage into Barbie-sized pieces and chewing on the right. :sad1: (cue the violin music) Maybe the dentist can numb my jaw so I can have a sandwich or something substantial. As for puree'd food, my magical soups I made seemed OK minus the chunks. Still.

I have a To Do list a mile long of things I need to handle today.
I've got the Spring Cleaning bug. Starting with the Tupperware cupboard having avalanche tendencies. And the linen closet has the bathroom towels un-color-coded...which rubs me wrong. :sad2:

Since DW leaves for work at 4am (today I drove her to work while her SUV is in the shop), I get morning duty solo at our house. So what you listed is what my two older sons get. I figured they can get breakfast themselves and I don't want to be messing with those grumpy Gusses that early in the morning anyway. They are allowed to use the microwave and toaster, however, so sometimes they will do hot cereal and such. The younger two boys I will fix breakfast for, 95% of the time, as long as it is easy and quick to make (i.e., oatmeal, cold cereal, HEATED pop-tarts :snooty:).

Sorry you're still in pain Wendee. Maybe you can find something to help ease the pain? I'm sure the dentist will fix you right up.

Totally random post of the day:
Does anyone remember these ads?

Do they even advertise the yellow pages anymore? I'm sure that particular slogan is long gone especially since letting your fingers do the walking these days would more likely to be internet shopping than yellow pages shopping.

And why were the fingers always those of a female? Because they (i.e., the female fingers) are more attractive to more people? Because females were the shoppers? :confused3 Anyway, sorry to take this thread OT (as if that were even possible), just some thoughts I had this morning while pondering.

Hmmm, I don't remember that ad? I remember the slogan though. I'm probably MUCH too young :sad2:

So my Spring Cleaning is under way. I can check off the linen closet. Found a few gross surprises:

1.) A Sippy cup full of completely curdled milk. My guesstimate is 2-3 weeks incubating. :scared:
2.) A massive yucky mass of cat "hair ball" which looks like pooh. So a lot of my sheets are going to be Downey fresh in a little while. :scared:
3.) some Mr. Potato Head parts...not gross, but not in the labeled container
4.) And. An Easter Egg. A REAL one. :scared:

Next up, the Tupperware Cupboard of Doom. It resembles Fred Flinstone's closet. Minus the bowling ball, not that I'm old enough to know this for a fact.

Welcome back Lil G!

:yay: I was hoping you were on a cruise but glad you were just working for a livin' while MIA.

YabbadabbaWendyDo! Gross on the closet surprises. Mine is so chock full of towels and sheets and blankets (all threadbare, mismatched and not organized at ALL) that you couldn't stuff in a Mr. Potato head part let alone a science experiment of sippy cup proportions.

the Jayhawk is such a mythical bird. ;)

I'm so glad you are back!

I can NOT believe you missed Lil Mis Cutie Pie's (princess: ) birthday! I'm glad she was only kidding on the lawyer! So? How was the doghouse???

I totally LOVE Enchanted! The songs are so gooood! I keep singing "How Does She Know" around the house to no avail. Our DVD is only 40 mins long now do to stucco scratches :confused3 That "not me" did (my 5th child).

I am setting up tonight for my MOM 2 MOM sale tomorrow.

"BORG!" What a bittersweet word. How about "Jinx! Buy me a Pepsi!"

I made a nice huge pile of mismatched sheets to donate. We don't even have a KING size bed. Yet we have tons of King sized sheets :confused3 Must be pre-marriage sheets from a by-gone era. :confused3 Someone can use them so they're being donated.

We don't have mom2mom sales here I don't think. Sound like my kinda thang.

Enchanted was an hour and half of my life I'll never be able to get back.

Shirley you jest! We loved Enchanted! We have the movie and the soundtrack in the car.

In fact, we're showing it tonight at the sleepover at church. I can't wait. :dance3:
